Hi !! My name is Mars, and I'm no longer a CS major at a North American university. I'm a math major now :) with a minor in CS. It's been my dream since high school to be in this major and to be in research. I'm going to conduct research someday in math and/or physics to contribute to the field just out of passion.

Planning to use this account to blog my study session experiences to hopefully inspire, and just to log. Hopefully, I can connect to more people who love the subject like I do and maybe make more people interested in the subject. :) Might also get off topic and rant about topics that interest me, but that's ab it.

Subjects you'll find here: college-level mathematics, coding language studies (occasionally), and physics (maybe others if they're required for my major, but these are the mains!).

Aiming to be studious more out of passion than sheer discipline. I'm going to be in research someday - when that day comes, I want to be ready. Would LOVE to hear your thoughts in the comments and just have some chats !

Probably leonhard euler. That may be a cliché pick but it’s a cliché for a reason I think.

Besides him I’m not sure, too many to pick from.

I'm tired of social media users.

I hate my phone so I got rid of it has 2.8 million views. Just delete social media, see what happens has 3.1 million views. If you simply search on YouTube "got rid of phone," you'll find numerous videos on the topic, most of them with hundreds of thousands of views and likes. There are PLENTY of people who talk about the negative effects of social media, their phone addiction, and how they want to get rid of it, and PLENTY MORE who share those feelings. If you agree that certain social media companies PURPOSEFULLY make their platforms incredibly addictive to you and the minors on the app, if you believe that certain apps make your life worse overall, stop actively supporting them by using their app. The more users there are on their app, the more views they get on their ads, and the more money they make. The more you use it, the more YOU tell them that their app is something that we desire. The more YOU PERSONALLY are supporting what they are doing. Stop supporting what you believe to be a horrific addition to your own life and others' lives. We need a different product. What they've done to our youth, to our brains, purposefully, is not acceptable.

me when i go mia

heyy guyssss (my 23 followers).... i crashed out and I didn't wanna. I now wanna. I'll also post those notes I mentioned I was working on for u guys later today or tmr - I'm making sure everything is in order :3 I will study later today and go over the current chapter I'm on with you guys once I finish! the textbook I'm using right now is called data structures and algorithm analysis in java by Clifford A Shaffer - the goal of this textbook from what I understand is to teach how to select appropriate algorithms depending on the task and teaching basic algorithms most programmers should be familiar with. It's good for beginner java programmers (beginner as in are already familiar with basics). I'm enjoying it, however it can be a little convoluted. I'm continuing w it though esp. bc I haven't even gotten ch.1.

I AM YOU AND YOU ARE ME I LOVE MATH SO MUCH FOR THE ELEGANCE AND BEAUTY I WANNA CRY SOMETIMES. I swear I cannot describe to people how much I loathe how in the traditional math class, the only way to get points is to get the right answer with the right “steps”. I can’t stand memorizing as a study method in mathematics. Mathematics is NOT a subject that was meant to be memorized. It was meant to be understood through logic. Once you understand it, the solving comes naturally from the understand - NOT the memorization of formulas.

It’s so much more fun that way and it makes me want to become a tutor - so no kid has to memorize ever again and actually ENJOY solving. Humans came together to think of math - formulas others can use to solve different problems that sound so complex. I genuinely think it’s so beautiful and I can’t wait to contribute to that community someday. I love reading proofs guys. UGH.

When they talked about the elegance of mathematics, I didn't really get it. Like I thought it was cool and all and I what they were saying was only good things so I concurred. But I just saw it for myself, the elegance of mathematics, and I almost want to cry

Took my CS final !! It was a class in Java. Everything I learned from my review:

Bro Code helped me SOO much omg - he was the best and I'll definitely check out his full java course on yt over my break

Working on a pdf of notes for you beginner Java learners on what helped me understand Inheritance, Polymorphism, Excepts and Recursion!

Not sure how I did yet, but I honestly probably got a 70... The multiple choice questions were worth 60 (we got those scores right away) so i got a 41/60 - i def didn't get all 40 points on the open ended so most likely a 70. I’ll end up with a B+ at least so not horrible.

Update (this was in my drafts): I got a 70 and did in fact get a B+ :) I’m okay with that.

So tired. Studying Java concepts right now - have only studied an hour and a half so far…. final is tomorrow noon. Sigh, wish me luck everyone!
