Here's 10 pictures of maybe the coolest thing I've ever seen in person. After a lot of dumb luck, a lot of sitting around, and a lot of staring at the HVO webpages about it, I caught an episode of fountaining in the ongoing Halema‘uma‘u eruption of (at?) Kilauea. USGS estimates a height of ~365m/~1200' at its highest point in this episode.

And yet, I have definitely waited longer for single eruptions of geysers. The atmosphere was really similar though: chaos, excitement, someone cried, hundreds of people showed up out of nowhere like 5 minutes in, and in that moment, without a doubt, there was no where else on earth I would have rather been.

Did I rewind and watch this scene 10 times when I got to it this week in my GoT rewatch? Yes, yes I did. This is the scene I cling to when people try to tell me that JB will never be canon. Why would the producers go to all the effort to make this scene if it meant nothing? Like they hired extras and everything to be in the background while Jaime makes heart eyes at Tarth. If they just wanted to establish that he was on a ship, they could have shown an exterior or above shot of a ship, then skipped right to that interior scene with Bronn. I talk about and reblog this scene a lot. No regrets. I love it so much.
