I don't know exactly how to articulate this but... if you repeatedly show historical fiction women rejecting traditionally female skills/duties and doing swords instead, because swords is obviously the Most Important Thing, you are kind of implying that all the work that has been traditionally done by female hands for millennia was useless all along and not, you know, keeping civilization going. Because it's usually rejected not as a personal preference but as This Is The Important Stuff (male work) and That is The Dumb Useless Stuff (women's work) and that kind of bothers me. The message was supposed to be Vital But Underpaid and Underappreciated, not women's work is insignificant so let's all go do swords.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I know I said I'd have the 3rd chapter by beginning of June. It is now beginning of August and I've barely finished editing chapter 2.

In my defense life has been extremely chaotic recently 😭 I lost my two cats, decided having 3 part time jobs would be a good idea (it was NOT), have been helping my dad w his severe anxiety, my own mental illnesses have been mentally illnessing (won't say much cuz i'm only semi officially diagnosed, so idk how comfortable i feel claiming stuff like that online, but if you look at my last tumblr posts... let's just say i can write Jinx so much more accurately now lmaooooooooooooooooooo), and yeah.

Chapter 3 is def on the way tho!! It's coming along kinda slowly but I'm getting there, i just need some time and it'll be out and beta read and edited 🙏
