Annapolis, Maryland

So, I love cities. I don't know why. I appreciate the outdoors and the open air (though my allergies currently do not), but my heart belongs in a city setting. The city nearest happens to be Annapolis. And yet, I haven't been for a visit since coming to college (aka the last three years!). Finally, a week or so ago, I asked Shannon if she'd want to go home for a weekend and we could explore this little city by the bay, and she was all in. So Friday after classes, we jumped into my car, crossed the Bay Bridge, and were ready to go Saturday mid-morning.

We walked around the city all day, and Shannon showed me some of her favorite places. And, yes, there were quite the smattering of Navy men walking around and, since it was something with Army vs. Navy, a bunch of military men as well. The day was also perfect as it was only in the seventies and it was sunny.

Definitely eat at Sophie's Crepes if you go. After we walked around a bit, we went to Severna Park to go thrift shopping, and then we went to Eastport to eat at Boatyard Bar & Grill with her family.
Oh, Annapolis, you are such a precious little city!

Finally did a little traveling! It felt so good to be exploring again. My friend, Shannon and I took a little vacation (read: 24 hours) to her home in Annapolis to explore the little city. More to come after I get some sleep!

Where have I been?
I know! It feels like just yesterday that I was waiting for Bus 64 to Cuatro Caminos to take me to school, and it's already spring break. What have I been doing, and how did I manage to let time slip by so quickly and let this blog falter?
Well, don't worry. A LOT has managed to slip through my fingers, and I can only blame it on my exhaustion from swimming, an over all disorganization, being busy, and getting a good dose of that ole post-study abroad depression (though nothing has bad as after Korea!). Also, may I just tell you sorority stuff takes a lot, especially recruitment and, -queuing drum beat- getting a little! Also, have I mentioned that I've gotten a little artsy/crafty? I can't believe it either!

Also there's, you know, classes... Which, by the way, I can report three A's, an A+, and an A- for my Spain semester! Whoo! Considering I was the laziest student ever.... I realize now that I could have done some cool "academic"-esque stuff, but I'm also kind of happy I didn't. After being so wired and "on" for the last twenty years of my life, I needed that semester to relax! I'm getting back into it now, kind of...
PS I'm trying to intern abroad this summer. Wish me luck! I'm thinking Shanghai or New Zealand! The world is my oyster!
xoxo

My Claddagh Ring
Would you flip my Claddagh ring, please? It looks quite strange as it is-- The thumbs pointed down The heart flipped around And the bottom being the crown.
No one has flipped it yet, It’s so very new, Bought from Dillon’s in Galway, It’s been this way since, And I await for you, my dear, To flip it at once. It’s silver and pretty, And terribly simple, But it glints on my finger Teasing me endlessly, A torturing reminder. But if you flip it, my dear, It will be a memento, An assurance in rough times, A sweet remembrance of care. So flip it for me, And we’ll call it love, For my heart will be yours For the whole world to see.
I've started writing free-form poetry to describe my travels, so let me know what you think!

Forgive the giant delays in the rest of my posts. I was more swamped over break than I thought, and even now I'm swamped back at school! I promise the rest will get out eventually, it will just take quite a lot of time...
