Might delete!!! WOW!! I was 29 in this pic! I was recently divorced and raising four children on my own. I’m smiling but I had a lot going on internally. 💔 I had to rediscover who I was a woman. 🤦🏽‍♀️ The journey was hard but I found out who I was, learned to love me just the way I was, embraced myself with unconditional love and I still stand firm today. 📍To ALL my ladies out there just trying to figure out life, you will get there. Ohhh weeee!!! I’ve been sooo busy. Y’all I’m on a whole schedule working with my boys at home. We are on zoom meetings ans doing EVERY assignment for EVERY subject. High school son: English, Biology, Algebra, & History. 3rd grade son: Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, & Spanish. Me: Two final doctoral projects due in two weeks. Mom.... Wife... & Teacher.... Entrepreneur... and working on my book due to be released on June 1st.... What am I doing someone asked me???? SMILING THROUGH ALL THIS!!! Well, today I worked on my epilogue to my #novel. I had a wonderful #idea and needed to add what I saw in my mind. I may have an outline of my #story, but my story is #characterdriven. My #characters are the pilot and I am the co-pilot. . . . I also worked on my story #synopsis for my back cover and other details as well. I spoke with my #book cover designer and we made some changes that I felt needed to be made. I also worked on my #dedication and #acknowledgment page... . . . . Learning is a privilege. We all have the choice to stimulate our minds with knowledge. As an educator, I find it difficult at times to keep all students engaged in reading and the art of writing. Our children have so many obstacles & distractions that draws their attention away. As an author, I am sadden by what I know our students are missing out on. The ability to create a world of creativity that forms on paper. The ability to want to read a story because their consistently engaged in the thrills of a novel. All across the nation we are facing the same issues. We are loosing our children to a world of fast paced societal norms that we have created. I am a mother, a teacher, a student, & author... There is no way I can continue to sit by & accept this as our (teachers) truth. It’s time to change what we consider as “normal” & show our children of tomorrow that we all carry creativity within us. Teachers need your help. Because we can’t do this alone! We need each parent, each mentor, each guardian, each comedian, each actor & actress, each rapper, each politician, each preacher, each sports star, to help us in our efforts to get our students to the place we all know they can be. Many teachers are giving up, quitting, leaving the profession they truly love. Many teachers are working two jobs just to sustain their families. On top of that, bring home papers to grade, creating lesson plans, going to parent teacher conferences—which In many districts less than 30% of parents show up. Someone...Anybody... EVERYBODY...Help us get our students on track by showing them that reading & writing is still enjoyable and important. I’m not telling you what to do. I’m just asking that you do anything. Anything in your power to help our children—Our future.
