Greetings. I am The Archive, or The Librarian. I am the living memory of several people throughout the multiverse. I would enjoy being a professor of ethics and psychology, but alas, I cannot. So, this blog appears! Here, I will post whatever random thoughts I have, If I think someone may benefit from it. I simply hope to bring knowledge to as many people as possible. Though, a warning; I am currently learning how to be articulate.

Hey just a general PSA from someone officially diagnosed and documented:
Now is not the time to seek out an autism diagnosis.
RFK's plans have been made very clear and any diagnosis you do get will get you put on this "national disease registry" they're proposing.
Trust me when I say I completely understand the need for accommodations and a better understanding of yourself, but if you have gone this long without being diagnosed, you will be better off waiting.
Furthermore, listen to and advocate for folks who are diagnosed, especially folks with higher support needs. They'll be the first ones targeted for whatever bullshit "experimental treatments" the government tries to push.
Stay safe and look out for your neighbor.

Why is it so important?
Content Warnings:
Depression.
Memory-loss.
Non-medical/Common terms.
Bathroom/stomach-related health.
Stuffy nose.
Itchy (and maybe hot).
Feeling like you're sweating, but wipe your forehead and it's uncomfortably dry (aka "clammy").
Dry spot in the back of your throat (trying to swallow something that isn't there).
Constipation and/or dieharrea.
Memory, attention/focus, coherent thought process gets worse (aka "brain fog").
Brain fog will make you forget:
- To drink water.
- To pause your game (pee break).
- Whether or not you used soap when you washed your hands.
Nauseous in a steamy shower (and more likely to pass out and/or vomit).
- "Did I take my meds today?" "Did I eat today?"
- That phone call/appointment you meant to "get to" earlier.
- Doomscrolling. Yes. Brain fog (aka brainrot) will cause more doomscrolling.
Headaches & migraines.
"I am so uncomfortable, but why?"
All of these can be solved by drinking roughly two full bottles of water *every day* for a week straight.
Spacing out.
Unclench your jaw, please.

In your mistakes, I see that you're able to learn.
In your courage to try again, I see your potential.
Let your attempt be a rough draft, not an obstacle.

Just a reminder.....
In light of some recent allegations that came out about Neil Gaiman, it's okay to have complicated feelings when a beloved celebrity does something shitty.
It's okay to feel betrayed and let down when a beloved celebrity does something shitty.
It's okay to have to re-consider your relationship with a shitty celebrity and their work.
It's okay to have once loved and looked up to someone who turned out to be a huge piece of shit.
It's okay to still love a shitty celebrity's work while recognizing that the celebrity is a shitty person.
The shitty and unhealthy thing to do is to dig in an insist that your fave celebrity did nothing wrong.
/this is why we can't have nice things meme

A little piece of advice for Americans navigating what will be an increasing number of posts about US politics in the coming year:
If a post makes you feel angry, upset, and hopeless, while offering no actionable information, scroll on and don't reblog it. I know that is going to feel harsh in some cases. But it's important to spend your political energy on what you can actually do and not be sunk into helpless rage and despair that benefits no one.

Did you guys know there's nothing inherently wrong with selfish thoughts and desires and there's no such thing as thought crimes or thought sins and a balanced amount of selfishness is healthy and adaptive for living things to have and it's fine to act selfishly as long as you don't harm others

"There's no thought crimes and no thought heroisms" is honestly such a good piece of life advice.
You could be having the most fucked up problematic thoughts 24/7 but if you treat people with kindness, the good you do is the only thing that matters. But if you have only the purest thoughts and all the correct beliefs, it doesn't matter one bit if you spend most of your time being an asshole to people.

I believe that a reason for all the recent frustration in communicating stems from the newer generations having more screen-based lives.
There's all these jokes about how 'oh, reality is actually a simulation, none of this is real!'
Seems it's never actually occurred to them that life isn't a simulation.
Aesthetics aren't a bad thing, but dreamcore-related statements like 'this isn't real' can do some harm. Continue whatever you wish; I simply encourage keeping yourself grounded more often. (And trigger warnings, of course.)
So, this is your reminder, your sign;
-This is a good time to drink water-
The place your body is in? It's real. The objects around you are not 2D or intangible, or off-limits. Your eyes are moving and nostrils widen and close with each breath. It may not be pretty or pleasing, but that's real life. It's messy, chaotic, random, and uneven.
Wait to see the wind move something, and observe the different sides. This place is real. Life on the screen is not. Your body and mind are real. They are a part of all life on this planet. You are real.
