A slip of the tongue
Dean Winchester x sister!reader and slightly Sam Winchester x sister!reader
Summmery: After a tough hunt, leaving the three hunters bruised and hurt and Dean angry at his little sister. But when she slips up and calls him "Dad," everything shifts.
Warnings: none really
(It's been requested weeks ago but I just now I managed to get it done)
Being raised by two older brother who don't really know what they're doing, may not be to ideal but for Y/N that's all she could have asked for.
Their dad was rarely ever home, usually away on hunt and blinded by the need to revenge his wife. So Dean and Sam had no other choice than to step in and raise her to be a strong smart woman. And she wouldn't trade that for anything in this world.
Like that one time when Dean tried to get her ready for the day.
“Sam, do you know how to braid hair?” Dean asked, frowning at the tangled mess called a ponytail. She was 5, sitting cross-legged on the motel bed, flipping through an old, dog-eared picture book.
“No, but I’m not the one who promised she’d look like a princess today,” Sam shot back, rolling his eyes. He was fifteen, gangly and awkward but always ready to help.
Then Dean also rolled his eyes and glared at his little brother. "You know you don't have to be so sassy all the time Sammy." He sayed in an obnoxiously annoying tone, to which Sam didn't say anything further.
Dean huffed, trying to mimic the motions he’d seen in some movie Y/N had made them watch. “Hold still, kid. You’re gonna look amazing.”
Or that time when both brothers decided to take her to the fair after she had been begging to go there for days.
The fairground lights twinkled and Y/N was full of energy, practically dragged her brothers toward the entrance.
“Dean! Funnel cake first! No, wait—the merry-go-round!” she shouted, her voice rising above the carnival buzz.
“Slow down!” Dean laughed and quickly tried catching up to her. Sam slightly less enthusiastic, rolled his eyes but followed close behind.
They played games. Dean won her a stuffed lion and they shared a funnel cake, When they reached the ferris wheel, Y/N squeezed into the seat between her brothers, resting her head on Dean’s arm.
“This is the best night ever,” she whispered already sleepy and exhausted after this fun night out.
Dean smiled, pulling her close. “Yeah, kiddo. It is.”
But their lives weren't always fun and peaceful. More often than not it was the complete opposite. John's anger, the constand yelling and fighting between Sam and John, the hunting. Oh especially the hunting.
The two brothers were never a big fan of taking her with them on hunts but John insisted she had to learn, so they hadn't much of a choice than to agree. But after seeing how good she actually is at this they decided to let her tag along even after John was long gone.
The Impala’s rumble was a soothing constant, a reminder of safety despite the chaos that had just unfolded. Sam’s face was taut with worry as he pressed a blood-soaked rag against her arm, the gash beneath stinging like fire. Dean’s jaw was clenched as he drove like a mad man, his knuckles white against the steering wheel.
Y/N sat in the backseat, trying not to wince every time the car hit a bump. Blood was soaking through her white shirt, but she knew better than to complain about a piece of clothing at the moment. Even if she really loved that shirt.
The hunt had gone sideways—what a surprise.
Dean and Sam had both sworn to protect their sister at all costs. But lately, she’d been trying to prove she could handle herself, trying to show them she wasn't just the kid tagging along anymore.
It was supposed to be a simple salt-and-burn. Ghosts were her bread and butter. Something relatively easy to handle. But this one had been different. Angry. Vengeful. And ridiculously fast. Before anyone could react, it had slashed at her, sending the girl flying into a set of windows.
“Pull over,” Sam said suddenly, breaking the silence. His voice was calm but firm. “I need to stitch this up before she loses too much blood. We've wasted to much time so far."
Dean didn’t argue, which was how she immediately could tell he was mad. He pulled into the parking lot of a dingy gas station, threw the car into park, and slammed the door shut behind him as he got out.
Sam turned to his sister, pulling out the first-aid kit. “You okay?”
“Peachy,” she said through gritted teeth.
Sam sighed but didn’t push it. His hands were steady as he threaded the needle and got to work, his murmured apologies lost in the sharp sting of every pull. Y/N tried to focus on the familiar sounds of Dean pacing outside the car, his boots crunching on gravel.
When Sam finished, he gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze and got out to check on Dean. The girl was alone for maybe thirty seconds before the driver’s side door opened and Dean slid in loudly. He turned to face her, his green eyes scanning her pale and tear struck face and then her bandaged arm.
“You okay, kiddo?”
“I’m fine,” She muttered, avoiding his gaze.
“Fine?” His voice was sharp, edged with frustration and anger. “You know you could’ve died back there.”
She flinched at his firm tone. “I wasn’t trying to get hurt, Dean.”
“You think that matters?” he snapped. “You’re supposed to be careful. You’re supposed to stay back and let us handle it. We know what we are doing!”
“I know what I am doing too and most importantly I’m not a little kid anymore!!”
“Well, you sure as hell act like one sometimes!”
The words hit her harder than she wanted to admit. Y/N looked down at her lap, blinking back tears. She knew he didn’t mean it—not really. Dean was scared. He always got like this when something happened to her or Sam. But that didn’t make it sting any less.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered after an intense silence.
Dean sighed heavily, dragging a hand down his face. His voice softened. “I just—damn it, I can’t lose you. You get that, right? You and Sam… you’re all I’ve got.”
The tears she’d been holding back spilled over, and before she could stop yourself, the words slipped out.
“I know, Dad.”
The silence that followed was definitely awkward.
Her heart sank as soon as she realized what she’d said. “I—I mean, Dean. I didn’t mean. I—”
But he didn’t look angry. His eyes widened for a moment, then softened into something she couldn’t quite place. He reached out, his calloused hand gentle as it gripped her left hand.
“Hey,” he said softly, cutting off her rambling. “It’s okay.”
She looked at him worried and confused, her bottom lip trembling. “I didn’t mean to—”
“Yeah, you did,” he said, a small, sad smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “And it’s okay. You’re my kid as much as you’re my sister. Hell you’ve always have been.”
The weight of his words settled over her, warm and reassuring. For the first time since she’d climbed into the Impala, the tightness in her chest loosened even for just a moment.
“Thanks, Dean,” She whispered.
“Don’t thank me,” he said gruffly, though his hand lingered for a moment longer before he pulled away. “Just… stop scaring the crap outta me, alright?”
She nodded, a small smile breaking through. “I’ll try.”
“Good.” He started the car, the familiar rumble filling the space and waited for Sam to come back in too. “Now, let’s get you patched up for real. And next time, you’re wearing body armor, I don’t care how stupid it looks.”
Sam climbed back in, raising an eyebrow at the sudden shift in mood but wisely deciding not to comment. As the Impala roared back onto the highway, Y/N leaned her head against the window, a strange sense of peace settling over her.
Dean might not have been her dad in the traditional sense, but in every way that mattered, he was. And now, she didn’t have to pretend otherwise.

I finally found you
Dean Winchester x daughter!reader , Sam Winchester x niece!reader
Summary: Y/N who just lost her mother, discovers that her father is Dean Winchester and seeks him out. She meets him and his brother during a spontaneous hunt where she gets hurt.
Word count: 3.4k
It's been requested.
Four months have passed since your mother has died, but it still felt like yesterday. The house was eerily quiet, the kind of silence that gnawed at you, reminding you just how alone you were. No family which you could go to and no friends who could support you in any way.
You are only 15 but it feels as if you had lived a lifetime in the past few months. Losing your mother, the woman who raised you, who loved you more than anyone else in this world, was the hardest thing you had ever faced.
Before her painful death, which had been caused by a vampire during a usual hunt, she muttered out your fathers name. Dean Winchester.
You've heard about him before. Of course you did. Dean is a legend in the world of the supernatural. Most hunters know about him and his brother Sam, but you had never imagined that you were tied to them.
After the small funeral, with no family left, you began researching him. It wasn't easy to track down a man who lived off the grid, but with a few well-placed questions and some clever digging, you found some very vague leads. You knew you had to find him, not only because he is your father but because you had nowhere else to go.
....
You had been searching for him for around three in a half months now but with no luck whatsoever. During those two months you've taken on small hunts. Nothing harder than finding the bones and burning them. Your mother taught you a lot about hunting and world of supernatural. Sometimes even took you on easy hunts to learn some more.
That's how you ended up in the woods near a small town. A local ghost story had brought you to these woods. You’d done your research, pieced together the puzzle, and figured it was an easy salt-and-burn situation. That’s what you told yourself, anyway. But something felt off. The air was thick with something darker than you expected, something more than just a restless spirit.
For some reason you thought that it could be just an angry spirit who never got to rest in peace, that's why you decide to check it out.
As you walk through the woods to look for the spirit you suddenly hear loud and heavy footsteps. Quickly you hide into one of the thicker bushes on your left side. Even if it's just a person walking by, it's better to make sure it's completely safe.
In the meantime the two pairs of footsteps stop and all you can hear are their hushed voices.
"Did you hear that Sammy?" One of the men asks. The other man nods "Yeah"
They continue to approach the bush you are hiding in. You quietly take out the only weapon you have on you right now, A silver knife. As they come closer and closer, panic is starting to flow through you. Especially when you see the that they are holding guns. shit what are you supposed to do? Either start talking and slowly come out the bush with your arms raised or you could use your knife to take them out. The chance that it will work is very very low.
Before you can make a proper decision or plan one of the two men speaks up with a gruff voice. "come on out, we won't hurt you. We just want to see if you are a threat."
You can't help but hesitate for a moment. Should you answer that? Maybe they actually don't know you are hiding in a bush. Maybe they just said that to trick you into coming out.
After a quick debate you answer the two men while getting out of the bush. "I'm not a threat."
Sam and Dean frown as they look at you. Sam lowers his gun but Dean keeps it aimed on you "Then put that knife of yours down" Dean's voice is stern and doesn't leave much space for arguing.
But still you shake your head and keep the knife clutched tightly in your hand. Dean obviously doesn't like that. "Put the knife down now!"
At last you do as your told and put down the knife close to your feet.
“What are you doing out here?” Sam called, his voice low but firm.
You look at them closely but because of all the adrenaline it takes you a while to recognize who the two men standing in front of you are. But even so you can still clearly tell that they are definitely hunters.
“Hunting. Same as you.”
Dean raised an eyebrow, his gaze sceptical as he sized you up but still stops pointing the gun at you. “Kid, this isn’t a playground. These woods are dangerous.”
You rolled your eyes, trying to hide the fear creeping into your chest. “I’m not a kid, and I know what I’m doing. There’s a ghost out here. I can handle it.”
Sam stepped forward, his expression softer but equally concerned. “This isn’t a ghost. It’s a werewolf. And it’s close.”
Your blood ran cold. You’d never dealt with anything like that before. Werewolves were a different kind of dangerous—fast, strong, and far from the simple salt-and-burn you were used to.
"Well shit." You sigh scared and then look back up at the brothers and that's when the realization hits you. You have seen these men before. Christ you were searching for one of them since months! And now he is standing right in front of you and you didn't even notice.
Sam and Dean look at you confused as they see your astound expression all of a sudden. Sam is the first to speak up. "Uhm... are you okay kid?"
Even though you already know the answer you still ask them their names just to make sure you're right. "What's your guys names?"
Both of them continue to frown confused but Sam still responds. "Well I'm Sam and he is Dean".
"Winchester?" You ask to clarify it.
Both brother nod. Dean's frown deepens as he is getting more suspicious of you.
You start smiling at their answer. "That's great! I have something really important to tell you Dean. You are m-" You get interrupted by a loud roar. That must definitely come form the werewolf.
All three of you turn towards where the sound came from and lift up their guns again. Sam turns to look at you. "You stay right here. Dean and I will take care of it.
But you are having none of it, so you shake your head and grab the knife, which you put down on the floor earlier.
"What? No! I want to help. " Dean also turns around to look at you and glares like his life depends on it.
"Hell no. If we tell you to stay put, then you stay put. You're going to get yourself killed otherwise."
Once again, his tone doesn't leave much space for arguing, so you roll your eyes and huff annoyed. "Alright. Damn. I'll stay right here"
Before you even know it, they disappear deeper into the woods, following the werewolf's roars.
....
You are left alone with your thoughts and worries. You know that you can't do much to help them. All you have is a knife, which is silver, so that could actually help, but honestly, you are too afraid to follow them and help hunt that werewolf. But at the same time, you feel a strong urge to do something. You can't just sit around and wait for them to return. What if something happens to them. You have finally found your father and uncle after months of searching, and for all you know, they could just die right now.
"Fuck it"
You sigh and wipe the sweat off your forehead before quickly taking off into the same direction.
As you get closer to the two brothers and the werewolf, you can hear that it's not going well at all. You rush even more till you reach them.
Sam is on the muddy ground trying to get up after being knocked over. His gun with the silver bullets is way too far out of his reach, and so I Dean's. What the hell happened. Your father is also getting knocked over and the werewolf is about to slash him so you warn him quick
"Dean, look out!" He manages to roll away, but the werewolf obviously doesn't give up just yet.
You quickly noticed that and ran over to it and stabbed it in its back with your knife. The werewolf shrieks and launches its paw right at you. Its sharp claws dig right into your stomach. The brute force of the werewolf's attack send you flying into the nearest tree.
Dean looks over to you and an unexplainable rage flows through him. He has never felt something like that before. Sure, he has gotten angry when someone hurts Sam, but that's his brother. He doesn't know you. Doesn't even know your name. Why does he feel this way?
He rapidly gets up from the ground and so does Sam. The taller brother grabs the gun which lays on the ground and shoots the werewolf. The silver bullets do an amazing job at killing the monster.
Dean on the other hand is only focused on you right now.
He rushes towards you quickly and kneels down next to you. "Are you alright!? Can you get up?" You get up but it hurts so bad. You try to stand properly which turns out to be harder than you thought
"Yeah I got it" You hold onto your bleeding tummy and press hard on it causing you to wince in pain.Â
Dean looks at you in concern. The way you are holding onto your stomach and pressing hard on it, he gets the feeling that there is more damage then just a scratch. He speaks up softly. "Come here, let me take a look." His voice, soft as it is, but still holds the same authority as it did before.
You try to lift up my shirt but it hurts to bad and you whimper once again since the shirt sticks to the bleeding wound a bit. "Owww" Dean isn't surprised by you whimpering and he immediately gets up and helps you. He lifts your shirt carefully to examine the wound. It's obvious that it's more serious then just a scratch. A long, deep gash runs across your abdomen. Dean raises an eyebrow. "This is serious. You need stitches as soon as possible, kid"
Your breath quickens and you shake my head immediately "No no no I-I'm fine really. It's ok it will heal in no time. No stitches!" Dean sees how distressed you are and speaks with a very gentle but firm voice now.
"Listen to me, sweetheart. This wound is a deep one and I am 99% sure it will leave a scar and may even cause infection if left untreated. I am an expert hunter and I can clearly tell that it's more serious than a little cut. You NEED stitches."
You desperately keep trying to breath but it's not working properly. It hurts so incredibly bad and you can feel your legs feeling more and more weak
"Yeah well we can't go to a hospital. You know that sir" Dean frowns when you call him sir but doesn't address it for now, instead focusing on you and the wound. He speaks in an incredibly comforting voice now, even though it feels very out of character for his usual self. "Don't worry, kid. I have some experience with stitching up wounds. I can treat it myself without the need of a hospital. We can do this at our motel room"
You think for a second and then agree. So you nod. You really need help. You can't die now. Not after finally finding your father and having a chance to have a new life.
You once again try your best to talk and breath properly but you are just in too much pain "Okay, yeah" You whimper the words out. Dean gives you another look of concerned before speaking up again. "Let's go." Sam joins the two of you and the two men go to help you up and start to walk back to the their car. "Can you walk or do you need me to carry you?"Â
You try to take a couple steps. It works out alright. So I nod towards the two men. "I think I got it" You answer quietly and the three of you start walking back towards their car Dean smiles a little seeing that you are able to walk on your own. He leads you over towards their car, which is a big black Chevy Impala. Sam goes towards the driver's seat and starts the engine, while Dean opens the passenger side door and asks you in a concerned voice again. "Can you get in?" "Yeah" You sit down which causes you to let out a little yelp and a slight cry. God you simply can't wait to get this over with
Sam drives the car while Dean sits right next to you, checking up on your wound every now and then. It's not a fun ride, as Sam keeps hitting the breaks and making sharp turns that makes it uncomfortable and painful to sit. Still, Sam is clearly trying to be as careful as he can, being aware of your injuries and not wanting to risk putting you in even more pain.
You are completely tired so your eyes start closing. You really fight to stay awake but at some point you don't think you can do that for much longer. The tight grip you have on your bleeding stomach is starting to loosen up. "I'm tired"
Dean notices in the corner of his eye that you are starting to fall asleep. He looks at you in concern and speaks gently but still stern. You can hear a hint of panic in his voice. "I know, but it's only a few more minutes until we get to our motel room. Just try and hold on for a little while longer, okay? Don't close your eyes, please kid."
Dean thinks about what he can talk to you about so you stay focused on him and not the tiredness you are feeling right now.Â
"So kiddo you wanted to say something before the werewolf made it's appearance. You said it was important. What is it?"
"You nod agreeing. Yeah it is pretty important. I have been searching for you for months now" You answer him through painted groans. Dean and Sam both frown at your words. "Why?"Â
You look up and into his green eyes and attempt to answer but the words come out unclear and mostly in a whisper because you are just seconds away from completely passing out "Well I found out you're my father"Â
You barely finish your sentence when your eyes close themself and you become unconscious.Â
Dean looks down at you suddenly when you pass out. His eyes widen and he turns towards Sam, clearly worried about you. "What the hell?!" Dean speaks up right after Sam, concerned as well. "Damn it, she just passed out!"
But the only thing Dean can think about are the words you said. It was hard to hear every single word you said but the word "father" is what he heard loud and clear. His head is spinning and his thoughts are racing. What the hell is he supposed to do now.
…. You wake up the next day around noon. Once you open your eyes, it takes a minute to realize where you are and what happened.Â
You sit up in the motel bed and immediately wince in pain. You lower your head to see and touch the bandage on your stomach.Â
Dean seems to be awake and looking back over at you when you wake up. He has a serious expression on his face and he gets up off of the bed when he sees you waking up. "Thank god you are finally awake kid. We were really worried you wouldn't make it." Sam is also awake and he sits up on his bed as well. He doesn't speak, instead looking down at you cautiously.
"Mhm" You mumble and nod, then lay back down with a groan. Everything just hurts.Â
Dean walks over towards you and sits down beside the bed. He speaks up in a very concerned voice, now wanting to know everything about what happened in your past. "Take it easy. Are you in a lot of pain, kid? "
slight tears gather in your eyes as you agree. "Yes I am"
Dean is instantly very worried and his eyes widen even more when he sees the tears begin to gather in your eyes. He leans over and gently touches your shoulder. "Can I ask you some questions, kiddo?"
You look up at the man slightly confused. But then remember what you told him last night. Oh shit. you had already forgotten about that. You nod and look over at Sam for a second before returning your gaze to Dean. "Yeah sure"
Your father gives off a relieved sigh when you say yes. He looks at you intently and speaks up with genuine curiosity. "Can I ask you your name first? You never told us last night"
You just now realized that you really haven't told them your name yet, so you tell them.
"And how old are you, kid?"Â
You start to slightly fidget with the bandages on your tummy. Even though you should play around with those. They just feel to tight and uncomfortable around your waist and stomach. "I am 15 years old"
Dean looks at you for a second before he nods and seems to process this information. "Ah. I see. I have another question. Where are your parents?" He asks cautiously.Â
Your expression immediately turns sad and you look away from the two hunters. "Oh. My mom is dead. She got killed 4 months ago by a vampire. And well I have been on the look out for my dad these past months. That's you."
You don't say anything for a second before you turn to look at him. "There is a letter in my backpack. It's in the very front. You can take it put and read it. You definitely will want to" Your mom wrote that letter years ago in case something happens and you have to seek out your father. She, of course, always knew how dangerous her life as a hunter is. She explains everything to him in that long letter.Â
Dean is intrigued by what you said right away. His eyes narrow slightly as he quickly gets up from the bed and walks over to your backpack. He unzips it and looks through the items for a minute before he finds the letter and pulls it out. "Is this it?" He holds it in his hand and walks back over towards you, holding it out with the letter towards you. There is clear concern and curiosity on his face as he looks up at you again.
You simply just nod.
Dean reads through the letter quickly. He feels a sudden mix of different emotions as he reads through the letter. The first one is shock, as he quickly realizes that you are in fact his daughter. The second one is confusion but also curiosity at the same time. The third one is guilt, as he realizes that you had to suffer so much while he was absent for years. He looks up to you after he has read the letter. "You are my..daughter?"
You sigh and keep my head down, so that they don't see my tears which ate now coming from a different cause than before. It's all just so overwhelming right now. "Yes. In case you don't believe or trust me I have her old journal so you can read that if you necessarily want but I can surely tell you that you are my father.Â
Dean is silent for a little while as all the emotions run through his body before he is able to respond. He looks down to notice your tears, his face softens further but he doesn't say anything about them yet. "I..I am very sorry for not being there for you. I had absolutely no idea you even existed"
"It's ok. It wasn't your fault. I am just glad that I have finally found you, dad"
A proud smile stretches across his face as he agrees. "Yeah me too, kiddo"

Quiet sister, concerned brothers
Dean and Sam Winchester x little sister!reader
Summery: Dean and Sam Winchester have a 15 year old half sister who often feels neglected and overlooked by her brothers. Her sadness and loneliness build up until she can no longer hide her feelings.
Trigger warning: way to much use of Y/N, emotional neglect
Word count: 1.5k words
A/N: I used a different perspective this time. Please please let me know which one you prefer so I know what to continue with! Thanks.
The creaky old bunker was silent, a rare occurrence given the nature of it's inhabitants. Y/N sat on her bed, the flickering light from a nearby lamp casting long shadows on the walls. She hugged her knees tight to her chest, feeling the weight of another day spend in the background.
Sam and Dean, her older brothers, had been on a hunt all day. She texted them but unsurprisingly received no answer from any of them. They returned the next day around noon with stories about demons and near-death experiences, hardly acknowledging her presence as they recounted their tiring adventures.
Y/N was used to this. As long as she can remember, she had been the quiet, shy girl who stayed in the shadows while her brothers were always the center of attention.
She loved them dearly, of course she did. They have raised her, they gave her a family. Something she never new before them. But the constant feeling of being forgotten gnawed at her heart. She knew they didn't mean to emotionally neglect her, it was just how things were. Sam and Dean are hunters and she is just…. there
….
A week later they were on the road again, driving to a small town in Nebraska where strange disappearances had been reported. Y/N joined them this time. She felt as if she is going to suffocate if she stayed in that bunker for any longer.
She sat in the back of the Impala with her head resting against the cold window. The low rumble of the engine was almost comforting, a familiar sound in her otherwise tumultuous life.
Dean glanced at her in the rear-view mirror, a frown creasing his forehead. "You okay back there kid?"
Y/N forced a small smile. "Yeah, I'm fine."
Sam turned around in his seat, giving her a concerned look. "You sure? You've been pretty quiet lately. More than usual. You barely talk to us." "Yeah I'm fine, just tired", she lied, hoping they would drop the subject. She didn't want to burden them with her feelings. They had enough to worry about.
Dean just shrugged and turned up the music, and Sam went back to his research. Both of them just believing her lie for now. None of them had the energy to deal with it at the moment.
Y/N closed her eyes, trying to push away the sadness that threatened to overwhelm her.
The hunt went relatively well. Sure it could have gone way better but it's not the worst one they've had so far. Turns out the disappearances were caused by a little groupe of vampires. Fortunately for them it was easy to track them down to an abandoned warehouse. The killing part was a bit more tricky though.
Y/N helped out a lot this time. She was quite proud of herself for that. Thought that Sam and Dean would be impressed but did they even acknowledge her hard work? absolutely not.
"You did good kid but you could definitely improve your skills with the machete and you also need to work more on your stamina you are way to slow." Those are the first words she hear from Dean as they walk back to the car. Of course it hurts. She tried so hard to make them acknowledge her skills but apparently all they see is her weakness or simply nothing at all.
Sam doesn't confirm Dean's criticism but he also doesn't defend his sister in any way. The walk back to the car is just silent and tense. A feeling Y/N is simply sick of.
It doesn't get any better in the car so all she does is put her headphones in to listen to music to drown her loud bad thoughts and her brother's voices.
....
The next time they went on a hunt didn't go differently. Y/N was allowed to join again. She even tried to show of her great skills against the witch they had to fight but once again it went mostly unnoticed by the two brothers. The only thing that stuck with them was how slow she moved and how much she apparently hesitated when shooting the witch.
She kept quiet for the whole ride back to the bunker. What was she supposed to say anyway.
Back at the bunker Dean is the first one to break the silence between the siblings. "Hey kiddo remind me to teach you how to use a gun properly. You suck a little at that" He said as he went to grab a beer. His words were meant in a playful way but for Y/N it's enough to set her off completely.
"Can't you just stop with that?!" Sam and Dean both turn to look at her with a confused frown. "Stop with what?" Dean asks bewildered.
"With t-this! I just can't listen to you constantly telling me that I am not good enough. Every time I do something good you find something bad to say. Both of you just completely ignored the fact that I killed the witch on the hunt today all that was important to you was to tell me I suck at shooting! And when you don't criticize everything I do, you just don't talk to me. I simply get ignored. That's not fair!"
Y/N stopped once she ran out of breath but she was not anywhere near done letting everything out
"Y/N what-" Sam immediately gets interrupted by his sister. "No! I'm done. I'm done with hunting. I am done doing anything in my power to make you acknowledge my hard work for nothing and I am done with seeking your validation and attention at all times!"
None of the brothers get a chance to say anything because the second the girl is done she storms off to her room. Not that they knew what to say anyway.
The silence that follows is a tense one. Both brothers are at loss for words. Her speech was something none of them expected to hear. "Should we go check up on her? That was pretty intense"
But Sam shakes his head at Dean's suggestion. "No, we should let her cool off for a bit. I'll check up on her later"
....
Dean can't help but think about every interaction he had with his sister after every hunt and he unfortunately has to admit to himself that what Y/N said was true. The guilt is more than visible on his face it seems as if he is drowning in it. Sam isn't feeling any better. He is trying his best to no stand up and rush into his sisters bedroom and apologize for everything he and his brother said to her to make her feel as if she was not good enough.
He is holding that urge back fairly well but the moment he heard loud crying from her room he decides he is done with waiting and giving her space. He just needs to see if she is alright and fix this.
He walks up towards the door of your bedroom and softly knocks on it. "Hey...do you mind if we talk for a moment? I just want to make sure you're okay" Sam waits for a couple seconds which feels like minutes to him. But he receives no answer from the girl on the other side of the door. So he tries again but yet he gets no answer this time either.
Sam knows her silence is answer enough and turns around to leave. Not even two steps later he hears the door opening and his little sister's sad sniffles. He turns towards her and the mere sight of his sibling standing there with red rimmed eyes and a tired expression, was enough to break his heart into many pieces. Especially because he knows he is at fault.
"We can talk if you want" Her voice sounds raspy and her words come out quiet. A big indicator that she has been crying for a long time.
Sam simply nods and follows her into her room. Both sit down on the bed. Y/N looks towards her hands and keeps her gaze fixated on that.
"I wanted to apologize for making you feel as if you are not good enough. That was really not alright. You are great kid. You help us out so much. Doesn't matter if it's with research, or hunting or just helping around the bunker. Dean and I appreciate it. We appreciate you"
Y/N scoffs which slightly takes her older brother by surprise. "Well none of you know how to show that said appreciation"
Sam sighs since he knows she is right. "I know we don't but I really mean it when I say that we do care and do acknowledge your help and hard work. Even when we tell you about the thing you could improve. I also know how harsh Dean's words must have sounded to you and he feels bad. He really does."
The teenaged girl stays silent for a moment before finally nodding. "I forgive you. But I still want to take a little break from hunting. I'll help with research, sure but that's all. It's just too much right now" Sam agrees with you. "Sure that's fine. I understand, kid. And so will Dean"
Y/N looks up from her fidgeting fingers and turns her head towards her brother while wiping her tears. "Thank you Sam"
"Don't thank me, sweetheart. Please" Another silence follows after Sam's words. Yet this time it's not tense or heavy. It's comforting.

Not as planned
Dean Winchester x little sister!reader
John Winchester x daughter!reader
Summery: You failed a hunt and your father is very disappointed. He always thought little of you. And now he is really done with you. But luckily your older brother is here to comfort you
Trigger warning: John Winchester 🤢, swear words, use of Y/N
Word count: 1.1k
A/N: This is my very first story. I hope that you guys like it. Please let me know what I can do better. And also english is not my first language and you will be able to tell. I'm sorry about that!
You have been begging your father to go on a hunt with him for months now. He never agreed. John was firmly convinced that you would never be able to keep up with it. Yet you never stopped trying to prove to him that you are made for the hunting life.
Now that Sam is gone of to college and Dean is the only one left accompanying John on hunts, he decided to give you a chance to prove yourself. He could use some extra help from time to time.
That's how you found yourself in your current position. Cold and covered in vampire blood. John standing in front of you screaming at you like his life depends on it. But you don't hear it. Your ears are ringing and your gaze is stuck on the dead headless body laying ten feet away from you.
That headless body laying disgracefully in the dirty ground was a girl you once knew. Maria. You have only met her four days ago. She was staying in the motel room next to yours. She was your first friend.
But now she is dead. Died by the hands of no other than John Winchester.
Maria was one of them. How could you have been so stupid? You should have seen the signs! But you were so happy and excited that you finally found someone your age who you can hang out with, that you didn't pay attention to the suspicious way she acted.
At some point through your father's lecture you felt his hand forcefully grab your jaw, taking your gaze away from Maria and insted set it on his harshly cold glare.
"You fucking look at me when I talk to you Y/N"
You flinched hard at his cruel tone. However you don't say anything in return. Your father tugged roughly on your jaw again.
"Did you understand what I just said?! This whole thing could have been mostly avoided if you wouldn't be so stupid! " His eyes express a deep burning fury towards you. "Yes sir" You don't dare to call him anything other than sir. Not after what happened. Not after tonight
"Good. Now go back to the car. I don't want to see your face right now. You are a disgrace at this point" You can hear the clear disgust in your father's voice. So you numbly turn around and walk back to the Impala. His words keep replaying in your head.
Deep in your heart you always knew that John only tolerates you when necessary. After all John Winchester never wanted a daughter, especially not a weak one.
You sit in utter silence. Cold tears dangerously close to rolling down your blood covered cheeks. But you suppress it. To afraid that your father might come back at any second and see you crying. To afraid that he would lash out on you again. But your thoughts get interrupted by the car door slamming close and John sitting down on the drivers seat. He doesn't say a thing instead he starts driving off to the direction of the Motel. You sit completely still, trying to make yourself as small as possible. Fearing what he may do if you did move even an inch.
Your father drops you off in front of the Motel before storming away, probably to the local Bar. The first person you see once you enter your Motel room is Dean laying on the bed watching TV. You simply walk past him to get to the bathroom so you can finally scrub all the blood of your skin.
"What in God's name happened to you Y/N? and where the hell is dad?" A worried Dean says frantically as he walks over to you and gently grabs your arm. However you pay him no mind and instead you pull your arm away from his grasp and walk past him to the bathroom and close the door.
The hot water feels amazing against your aching muscles. You wish you could wash away all your thoughts. Even for just couple minutes.
A deep sigh escapes your lips as you exit the bathroom. Unfortunately Dean is impatiently waiting for you. "Kid you better tell me right now what happened" Dean's voice is stern and you can clearly tell he is not playing right now.
"The hunt went wrong." That's all you answer him while you sit down on the other bed. Dean rolls his eyes. "What do you mean the hunt went wrong? Be more specific" Dean's voice is still stern but once he sees your sad expression his tone turns softer.
"Maria the girl next door was a vampire. She pretty much used me. She is dead now" You keep it as short as possible. Your also keep your head down trying not to breakdown in front of your big brother.
"Oh shit. I'm sorry your first hunt went this bad. And sorry about Maria" He tries his best to reassure you but you just simply stay quiet head still down.
"Where is dad?"
Dean can see you shrug and how your expression turns dark. "I don't know. He is probably at a bar drinking everything away like always"
Dean sighs walk over to you. He sits down. "Y/N are- are you ok?" That's all it takes for you to just completely break down. Tears streaming down your face, loud sobs coming out your mouth.
Dean immediately wraps his arms around you. Even though he is not a big fan of physical touch, he can clearly tell that you need his comfort.
"Dad called me a disgrace" You sob out against his chest. Dean pulls away and gently grabs your face to make you look at him
"Hey Hey listen to me you are not a disgrace. You hear me?" His tone is a mix between firm and gentle at the same time. "What he said to you is completely wrong and he shouldn't have done it"
All you manage to do is nod and quietly sniffle. For Dean that's enough. He smiles softly at you. "Alright kid. How about we go to that store down the road and buy that favourite pie of yours? What do you say?"
A little smile immediately spreads out on your face at the mention of pie.
"Yes please what would be really amazing"
And of course without hesitation the two of you go get that pie and enjoy it quickly before John even comes back from the bar.
Your big brother has always known the best way to cheer you up whenever you needed it. He will always be there for you if you need it. No matter how big or small the problem is.
