Fashion series: Samantha Jones

Samantha was all about bold, colourful fashion during her time on SATC.

As a businesswoman, she loved a pantsuit, but with her own eprsonal touch, screaming Samantha in every way. Colourful with a deep plunging neckline, no shirt underneath of course, just her bra barely showing. I think this defines Samantha and her fashion, by being a middle ground, meeting of the opposites of her wild sexy personality and her professional work persona.

Samantha loved fashion, colour, and making a statement through her clothing. When she wanted a Birkin bag she didn't care about the bag, she cared about what it meant, the amount of wealth it symbolizes.

Lee Doo-Na as 8w7

Doona! is my long awaited 8w7 representation on screen, in a clasically feminine role, as a love interest. In case some of y'all didn't notice, thsi combination is not common.

Why? 8w7 is maybe the most masculine of the enneagram, so a feminine woman as 8w7 is quite the difficult character to write.

Doo-Na is a walking contradiction, as expected. She loves crop tops and the colour pink, she takes care of heerself with makeup, hair and accessories. Meanwhile, she throws it all out the window as soon as he rmouth opens. She's stubborn, agressive, hard-headed, determined to egt what she wants.

She's perfectly feminine in appearance, perhaps because she sees how it benefits her. The personality of a 8w7 is her masculine side, but ampped up. She swears, will get into physical fights with no issue, is loud and doesn't care what you think about it.

Speaking of what she wants, in the context of a love interest and drama female lead, as soon as it becomes Won-Joon, he is...well, quite frankly, doomed. She is relentless in pursuing him and they hardly have a talking stage, she just claims him. Waits fro him until he agrees to take her out, joins in on activities he's into, and makes herself a part of his life.

Doo-Na approaches love just like everything else, she takes dominnion on the object of her affection.

As a unhealthy 8w7 she falls into adiction, very common for the type, she is harsh and abrassive, her agression lacking containment. Later on, she admits to not wanting to be there every single day at her most damaged. This is the way it manifests for 8w7 in my eyes, not a will to die, but a will to stop existing alltogether.

As for her more balanced side, she is quiet, but when she grabs attention it becomes impossible to take it away from her. She is focused, charming and exudes strength, class and ellegance.

Now, another side I love seeing represented with a female 8w7 that's well rounded, is facing failure. As most of us, she's a child prodigy because when left to her own devices she can doo no wrong. When teamwork comes into play, having to bend to shape around other people and share the spotlight, it becomes impossible. She crumbles all at once, is frustrated and takes ehrself out of it.

Doo-Na as a full representation of a feminine woman, 8w7 at that, shows how hard it is, but how perfect it is. The 8w7 woman is cursed but would never choose to give it up for a easier, more manageable type.

Fashion Series: Fran Fine

Flashy, to describe this fashion style in a single word. But, the reason it works is a bit deeper than that.

Trashy, as flashy fashion can often be, is something that managed to never be associated with Fran Fine. The secret? Keep it in the elegant dress code formula, but with unusual clothes and patterns.

And so, without too much skin on show, the silhouettes are usually kept clean and cassy, the nanny actually has a very polished way of dressing. What ruins the classy and clean look? Her love of colour, fur, sorakle and patterns.

This created a unique mix of two opposites, this is what makes her style rather easy to discern and unique.

In the context of the show, the clash of the clean base and flashy colours on top, is the reflection of Fran's life from start to finish. Poor girl, dressed over the top, meets the world of a rich businessman and his children. Two opposites meet, and Fran's wardrobe reflects this perfectly.

The above quote, as the costume designer of the show put it, describes the clothing style very well as well. Fran's style is so over the top, it's almost falling over. This is very well in harmony with her personality, as she's loud, outspoken, sassy, and not the best fit for the world she just entered. It's her other qualities that make it balanced, allowing her to be loved by her new entourage.

The base of her outfits stays the ssame mostly through the first seans, the changing of jackets and shoes being a common thing.

As the show got more popular and clothing budget went up, Fran's clothes started to include more expensive dresses and bags, but the baseline tends to retain it's original formula.

Piper Halliwell as 6w7

Piper - cautios, indecisve, controlling, craves stability.

Piper was the most adverse to the supernatural, wanting a normal, simple, safe life. She keeps this strugle constant throughout the series, and actively tries to live a normal life, despite the fact that it's simply not meant to be.

When she's at her worst, she tries controlling and tackling the issues in her life, to take them out. She lashes out, becomes unstable in her wants.

At her best, she is calmer, less prone to freak outs, takes control of her destiny as much as she can, and accepts the uncontrollable.

She is resistant to change, takes a cautious aproach to the new things and people in her life. Once she has been burnt, she has a very hard time giving another chance.

She is a people pleaser, even when it's at her own expense.

Miranda Priestly as 4w3

When we meet Miranda, she is not losing any time. Straight to the point, she ignores everything that doesn't serve her.

Along the way she keeps being direct, self-centered, elitist and able to make necesary choices for her career.

Honest, creative and reserved, these are traits of the 4 that she eprfectly displays.

4w3 wants to prove their unique spot in the world, that they are not like everyone else, and Miranda has certainly done this and more.

Her refined taste is the one to follow, to the point where a single detail she doesn't aprove of equals complete and utter disaster.

Phoebe Halliwell as 7w6

Carefree, impulsive, passionate, selfish. This is the Phoebe we meet at the begginign of the series, and she stays consistent throughout.

A bit scattered in life and her choices during the first seasons, once she decides what she wants she gets right up to it and channels all her attention to it.

She's as compassionate and caring as she is selfish, and in a few seasons her self-gratification and selfishness in general guides her actions, to the point of recieving divine punishment for it.

Does she learn? Arguably, Phoebe at the end of the series is worse than Phoebe at the beginning. She's lost much of her caring nature, although she is well on her way to getting back too her balanced self by the end of it.

She does what she enjoys with no care of how that will reflect on those around her, mid-series Phoebe acts only for herself.

Once humbled she has room to grow into who she is supposed to be, getting back to her natural intuition to help those in need, focuses her drive on something constructive instead of selfish.

She is after love alright, and due to her 6 wing she is quite possitive about it despite her string of failed dates, relationships and even marriage.

Fashion Series : Emily Charlton

In the movie The Devil wears Prada, Emily is the executive assistant to Miranda Priestly, and she is at her dream job, given her love of fashion and Miranda herself.

Her colours are dark, her textures are soft and hard mixed together, creating a unique look that represents her personality perfectly.

She is introduced in black and brown, colours that she'll wear often. She exudes confidence with those beneaath her, becomes docile when she's around Miranda.

Her makeup, like her eye looks in particular, mixed with her accesories put a personal note of individuality that perfectly showcases her style and personality.

She's already at her best, so we see no style evolution here.

Just an example of looking perffectly polished while keeping your individual touch.

Her brands would be Vivienne Westwood and Rick Owens.

Prue Halliwell as 1w9

Prue is such an idealist that it's hard to deal with her. She knows best, for herself, her family, ans anyone else of course.

She took on all the responsability with none of the fun, holding herself up to and meeting the expectations of big sister and oldest witch.

She is totally repressed, angry and keeps it hidden until she discovers her powers, and all that is the kew to controling it.

Her sin is pride, as she comes to think of herself as invincible to an extent, which cauases her death.

Prue at her worst is controlling and stubborn with no way of getting to her.

Prue at her best is relaxed, taking control of her own life to pursue her dreams while sticking to giving advice to others instead of trying to control and guide them on a better path.

Her 9 wing shows with those repressed feelings I mentioned, keeping herself controlled and private in her thoughts and emotions. when she is right, or thinks so (let's be honest, she's not wrong) she takes a stance and never gives up on it.

Cassandra Cillian and the unsurprising verdict

Imagine this - Cassandra as a 5w4 INTP.

Need I say more? Intoverted, thinker, perciever. With a supernatural twist of course.

As a 5w4 Cassandra is just the right example, she's a thinker, information lover first and foremost. She uses her head and takes a long time before acting on her ideas.

Due to her special situation with the ticking bomb that is her brain and her subsequent power following suit, she retreats into herself and becomes quite nihilistic due to her impending doom.

But, here comes her 4wing to ruin all that. She forms close relationships with her fellow librarians, she's quite carefree and happy when she gets out of her head.

Now, in another life, we see Cassandra become this mastermind, taking over the cause but being corrupted by magic, power, during it. She has the sense of greater good above the little people, and this is her dark side.

Somehow, red lipstick became a obnoxious sign of feminism, and Adolf Hitler himself became a hater of this colour on women's lips.

Of course the americans are to be blamed, as the suffragetes wore it in one of their marches. Flash forward to 2018, Nicaraguan women wear it for the same reason. Back to 2009, Chile, women took up blindfolds and red lipstick to fight against sexual violence.

Sexually amora, heretical, impolite. Back in the day, before all of the above happened in the 20th century, women wearing red lipstick were the lowest of the low. In the dark ages, they were a sign of making nice with the devil himself.

Once upon a time in England, cosmetics were seen as a way of tricking men into being seduced. Arguably, that applies today as well.

A while back in Greece, prostitutes were the ones showing their career by wearing red lipstick, nobody wanted to mistake them for ladies after all.

5w4 women are *quite* rare, so let's break down some traits!

a 5 will and does feel emotions, they are not robots

Oh yeah guys, my own personal favourite 8w7 in movies, with women being quite rare in this personality type.

For a good reason, the 8w7 is complicated, difficult to write and give justice to, can easily fall into the evil witch archetype.

Motivations -Passion. Vengeance. Anger. Thrills. Power.

Catherine is the exact image for this personality type, she is driven by her own wants and this is what forms her goals. Going from here, she will do anything to get what she is after. Being a type that wants to enjoy, be pleased, in control, she goes at life head on.

Katherine takes up all the space in a room with her wants, needs, strength, and power. She comes off as desperate, angry, driven by her impulses and that is all true, all at once. She's a unhealthy 8, which also makes her lean into a type 5, meaning she becomes detached, cunning, calculated.

Obsession. This is a very strong one here, as she will always be consumed with something. Be it her lovers, power over the world and everyone in it, her mind is a perpetual storm.\

Okay folks, with enneagram 8 being the most masculine and abrassive, being a female 8 can be challenging.
