the wild thing about being autistic as a young adult is having no interest (and even a slight aversion to) drinking, drugs, partying, etc. but watching all the people you've known since childhood slowly leave you behind for them. it feels like abandonment even though they're just doing something very developmentally normal for this life stage, and it makes you feel like you are infinitely behind and an absolute loser lol
