Your childhood best friend Caleb who makes your heart skip a beat after realizing how much he’s grown. 

Every time you have a conversation with him and you have to look up and he tilts his head down is when you especially notice it. Midway through your sentence when he tilts his head looking at you and you completely forget what you were saying.

 You remembered when he was just the same height as you, jumping over your fence and messing around with you in your backyard. Now, his figure absolutely dominated over yours, and it was something he never shut up about. 

“You’re so little, pipsqueak. Remember when we were the same height?”

“I grew so much and you’re stuck being such a tiny thing.”

“I remember when you tackled me onto the couch when we were little. I doubt you could do it now though.”

Another instance is when your mom assigns the both of you to go run her errands. 

“Cmon, I can carry it,” Caleb grips the bottom of the box, clearly not letting you have an attempt at it. 

“Caleb, let’s just bring it in together! It’s heavier than it looks!” you argue. And you weren’t wrong. This box filled with rice was much heavier than it appeared to be. 

“Why don’t you carry in the bags instead?” You watch as he grunts and picks up the heavy box, his muscles flexing. You feel your cheeks flush and you can’t tell if it’s out of annoyance or something else. 

And his voice. Once light and cheery, his voice now resonant and rich yet still carrying the sweet playfulness of your childhood. The way he lowered his voice when it was just the two of you. The way it sweetened when you were around. You wondered if he always spoke this way.

Yet, there were some things that didn’t change a bit. The way his eyes slightly crinkled when he showed off that dumb, boyish smile. The way he messes with his hands when he’s bored. The way he tussles your hair when you’re in close enough proximity. The way you two laughed over stupid things together. The way you messed around like little kids when you were around each other. Just, the nature of the two of you when you were together. 

Growing up with him was definitely fun and adorable, but now that you’re a little older, a new feeling brews in you every time you see him. Maybe it was the way you both matured. Or maybe the fact that in a way your relationship with him never changed, and it was still as vibrant as it’s always been. 

You were starting to question your feelings. More importantly, if he felt any attraction for you either. You couldn’t tell if his eyes always lingered on you like this. Or if he always hugged you like he had nothing else. Or if he always whispered so that only you could hear. 

You know your feelings now. You hoped he wasn’t as clueless as you thought he was, praying that maybe he tells you that he noticed how much you’ve changed in a way that makes his heart race. Maybe he could soothe your aching feelings towards him before he runs off to college. 

Yet, one day you come to see him in his new college dorm. And your heart shatters when he cheerfully tells you about the girl he’s been seeing.

You often catch Caleb staring at you. 

Reading a book? Eating a meal he made you? Scrolling lazily on social media? He’s always looking at you, with that dumb little grin on his face, leaning against a table or doorframe, just admiring you. 

Everytime you catch him, you get flustered and try to shoo him away. ��Caleb! Stop staring at me!” yelling as you throw something at him so he can just go away. He stands there like an idiot, blocking himself with his arms, laughing. 

“What do you mean?” he throws his arms over his head again as he braces himself for whatever you next decide is throwable. 

What you don’t realize, however, is the reason behind why he does it, let alone so often. Sure, he stares at you for a long time because he gets lost thinking about how adorable you are, but the true reason why is far more daunting.

Caleb can’t stop looking at you because he’s scared of losing you again. He’s scared of turning around and finding you gone. He fears every time he sees you may be the last and he wants to engrave every aspect of you into his soul just in case. 

One night, you invite him over knowing he’ll be back from Skyhaven. While waiting, you find yourself falling asleep on the couch while watching a particularly boring movie. Some time later, you wake up to see him looking down at you and yelp. You try to rub the sleep away from your eyes then return his stare. You definitely weren’t expecting him to watch you sleep. 

You’re about to say something, yell at him for not waking you up and for scaring you, but something is a little off. This time, that boyish grin is nowhere to be found. He’s frowning with his brows furrowed as he watches over you. Your expression soon matches his. “What? What’s wrong?”

“You didn’t reply to my messages. I got worried that something happened to you.” He’s never usually this serious. You awkwardly laugh and brush it off, “Sorry, I got sleepy, haha.” You sit up and pat the spot next to you, yet he stands unmoving. 

He continues to stare at you to take in the fact that you’re intact and totally alright. The worry is still evident in the tenseness of his face and body. He was truly scared that something happened, that he really lost you again. He won’t tell you that he rushed here, breaking every rule on the road as his heart beat out of his chest, just to find you peacefully sleeping. 

“You gonna keep staring at me?” you tilt your head slightly and smile. You hope it lightens the mood. “You worry me, you know that? Looking at you puts me at ease because I know you’re okay.” he softly says as he walks over to the spot you offered earlier. His eyes never leave yours as he sits down. 

He leans against your shoulder and snuggles his head into the crook of your neck. His arms wrap around your waist, You’re not exactly sure what to do, hesitating before you run your hands up and down his back. 

“Don’t forget to text me back next time, okay?” he slightly peeks his head up to look at you. You nod in acknowledgement, “Okay, I will.” That’s all he needed to hear, and that’s all that needed to be said. 

Lesson learned: from now on, you are going to text him back and you’re not going to question why he stares at you anymore.

someone tell me xavier isn't constantly buying a new pillow because he claims the one he just bought "hurts his neck too much" as if it isn't his fault that he sleeps anywhere and everywhere and that's probably why his neck hurts, but also because he's constantly fighting/working so he's probably also a little tense. he's got the expensive cooling technology firm memory foam pillow i know it.

i wonder if zayne believes in supplements. if you were to go grocery shopping and try to pick up some, he'd probably yap on and on about how they are actually scams and an overabundance of each supplement can actually do more harm than good. the type of guy to actually read labels, making sure he's not putting too many toxins into his body.

do you guys ever wonder if rafayel actually grocery shops (not to buy random crap)? the answer is probably not but i think that he thinks that a banana is 10 dollars a piece (because he is so filthy rich it hurts). he probably also doesn't eat food from the grocery store, besides his silly snacks. and if he were ever to be in one he'd only question the potential of each item to be turned into a pretty and usable paint. so... he actually only shops at the art store.

sylus eats like the rich man he is. he eats tons of expensive steaks, lobsters, crabs, etc etc. always buying the highest quality food he can find. its fine-dining at his place basically all the time. will toss any good thing he sees into his cart. when he's out shopping, he also really likes to stop by the record shop to see if any new classical vinyls to pick from.

caleb is the best person to shop with. he always knows how to pick the best fruit, meat, vegetables, anything. plus, anything you point at, he can probably make into a meal. he's the best at actually bringing home necessary items on the list, but will often toss in a few extra things cuz why not. number one malewife!

i know this is a common thing to write about, but this is my take ;)

Xavier has one son and loves him dearly. He babies him so much, to the point where you have to tell him to stop it sometimes. He carries him around, spoon feeds him, buys him what he wants, and plays with him whenever. He treats your son like a prince, just the way he treats you like a princess. His son is just as sleepy as he is, and you always catch the two of them napping together, whether it be on the couch, your bed, your son’s bed, the floor (????). You always laugh when you see the silly positions they’re sprawled out into and your phone is filled with photos of them sleeping. 

Zayne has one kid, but I can see it being a girl or boy. He was scared to have children due to his demanding job, but once he found out you were having one, he was very excited. He makes sure his child is always being taken care of and is always in safe and healthy conditions. He is the most disciplined out of all of them, being sure that his child will grow to be a good and kind person. The kind of guy who always wants to spend time with his family no matter how packed his schedule is. Weekends are always for going out and hanging out. 

Rafayel has one boy and one girl. Although, he is more like a kid than a dad. He always has quarrels with the kids, provoking them to have similar attitudes (you’re super upset at him all the time). He gets super pouty when they don’t listen to him. He has petty arguments and plays with them all the time, getting too into them and always trying to win. The house is never quiet. But, surprisingly, he has occasional discipline for his kids, making sure that they must be good people. also teaches them how to bargain to get whatever they want, and you’re over it

Sylus is a girl dad through and through. He does have sons, yes, but his daughter is his absolute pride and joy. He treats his sons like he’s training them for “the cruel reality of life,” but makes sure his daughter will never ever have to face it. When he found out that you were going to have a daughter after two sons, he was absolutely over the moon. He would give her absolutely everything, and he does. His usual scary demeanor is nowhere to be seen when his daughter is in a 10 feet radius of him. He makes sure his little girl is always pampered to the max, especially with the abundance of things he buys for her (that she definitely does not need).

Caleb seems like he would have twins: one boy and one girl. He does not particularly prefer one or the other, because he actually loves his wife more than his kids. But that’s besides the point. He’s the kind of dad to be fun but disciplined, and you love that about him. He is very protective of his kids, making sure they’re always safe (even though that does mean the occasional scolding), but he also always makes sure they’re happy and having a good time. The kind of dad to analyze who his kids are friends with/dating.

Xavier is an absolute warrior when he is sick. He is rarely sick due to his thriving immune system (he probably eats dirt :/) and constant well rested body (always sleeping). Even though he doesn’t necessarily take good care of himself, he also has to keep up good health due to his demanding job. He can’t be fighting sick now, can he? However, when he does get sick, it is rather severe. He will ask you to come over and take care of him. You’re worried sick because he isn’t ever sick, let alone this terribly. You watch him sleep for a long time, feed him, and make sure he’s doing ok. He will ask you to stay with him until he gets better (you can’t say no). 

Zayne is more than capable of taking care of himself when he’s sick. He knows very well how to take care of his physical health and wellbeing, and knows the exact remedy to alleviate any form of sickness that comes to him. Shockingly, he is often sick, even though it is mild. Due to his extremely high stress levels and his evol being evil, he is usually fighting off mild colds or stress headaches. He’s good at hiding them especially because they happen often, and won’t really ask you to do anything for him. May ask you to come hang out though (yet you’ll make him soup and make sure he takes his meds). It’s nice to have time to talk to him while he’s sick too. 

Rafayel is so dramatic when he’s sick. He gets sick as much and as moderately as any other person, however he acts like he’s dying every single time. You will randomly get a call, begging you to come over to take care of his poor self. Of course, you do come over, to find him sprawled on the floor complaining about how miserable he is. You just gave yourself the responsibility of taking care of this man-child until he gets better, because there is no way he’s letting you leave until he is better. You make sure he’s treated like the princess he’s asking to be treated like: tucked in, read a story, kissed goodnight, cuddled (yup, you’re going to be sick tomorrow too), woken up to be fed porridge, given water, talked to, etc etc. He is absolutely pampered by you, and although you seem annoyed, you secretly adore him for it. 

Sylus gives up his usual cocky personality when he’s sick. You find him silently resting in bed, no comments to be heard. It’s very weird to not hear any snarky remarks, but rather his congestion with every breath he takes and the occasional coughing. You find Luke and Kieran already attending to him, and wonder why you’re even there in the first place. Clearly, he doesn’t need your care. However, before you leave, you see him open his eyes and beckon you over. He doesn’t need your care, but he definitely needs your presence. He pulls you into bed with him, holding you especially close. You listen to his labored breathing as he helplessly holds onto you. It was weird to see such a powerful man be so pathetic. You spend the night soothing the poor guy to sleep. You’re definitely going to make fun of him for how needy he is while sick later. 

Caleb always hides when he is sick. Even though he would go out of his way every time to help you recover from any ailment, he would never ask you to do the same. He doesn’t want to burden you with something so trivial, so he tries to fight off flu season all by himself. Unfortunately for him, you’ve known him long enough to know that he’s not really “too tired to hang out right now.” So, you come marching into his home with bags filled to the brim with anything he might need: flu medicine, pain relievers, a cloth (that you’ll wet for his fever), water, tea, juice, porridge, soup, everything. He’s shocked to see you, but boy is he glad. You scold him for being so stubborn, and remind him that you’d always be happy to care for him. You spend time taking care of him, and he’s basking in your amazing presence. Maybe he should be sick more often…

Satoru Gojo is actually the most arduous ex-boyfriend you have ever had. 

After dating for a year, you figured that your relationship no longer held its initial excitement, now frankly becoming boring. You found that both you and him no longer had the time nor enjoyment to spend the days with each other anymore. It was almost like you were avoiding each other, and splitting up seemed inevitable at that point. Even though you loved each other, you bit the bullet and told him how you felt. It was almost in passing: he was about to leave your apartment after stopping by to pick up his forgotten laptop, and you suddenly blurted, “Let’s break up… I just don’t think this is working anymore.” Satoru, who was putting on his shoes by your front door, paused. He slowly looked up at you, smiled, and simply said, “See you tomorrow” as he continued to tie his sneakers on. He shut the door behind him, leaving you in shock. Did he just totally ignore you?

He really meant what he said. The next day, he came to your apartment unannounced early in the morning. Banging on your door, he loudly shouted, “LET ME IN BABE!!!!!!!” to be sure that you could hear him. Since it was barely six, you were still in bed, a pillow wrapped over your ears as you tried to ignore him. You sighed. Unfortunately for you, you couldn’t afford to have a noise complaint sent to you. So, grudgingly, you dragged yourself out of bed and opened the door, eyes barely open. 

There he was: smiling, dressed up, and holding two cups of what you assumed was coffee. He invited himself in, brushing right past you and rambling. “Seriously, the barista kept falling asleep on me or something, it took him forever to even get one drink done. I mean, I get that it’s early in the morning, but can’t you do your job? I felt bad, so I tipped the poor guy like 50% of the order total haha.” Satoru was setting his things down on your counter and sitting in one of your dining chairs, making himself totally at home. You still stood by the front door, and looked at him in utter horror. “Satoru… We broke up yesterday… What are you doing here?” 

He continued to ramble, ignoring you again. “While I was on the way here, I saw this little cat too! It was so cute, seriously. It ran when I approached it though.” He sipped from his coffee, “Ah, it’s so hot!” Satoru gasped and fanned his hands at his mouth in an attempt to alleviate the burning. You sighed as you walked over and took a seat beside him. It was too early for this: the sun just barely came up. “Hey, I’m serious. Why are you ignoring me?” You rested your head on your hand, exhaustion threatening to take over. He finally looked at you, and you noticed his swollen eyes. Had he been crying? “Were you really serious?” he asked sadly. “I was. Won’t you work with me? Please-” He interrupted. “Why? Why do you want to break up? I said I wanted to live the rest of my life with you, and I don’t say that lightly…” He swirled his coffee around in the paper cup slowly. You thought carefully about your next words. “I don’t think that I can make it through what’s going on between us. I’m sorry.” You looked down as you spoke. When you looked up, you saw him… smiling? 

“Here, I even have something for you. Please reconsider!” He perked up; his enthusiasm suddenly skyrocketed, contradictory to his previous sadness. He whipped out a speaker from his bag, and turned on a piano instrumental. Satoru started singing awkwardly shouting “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars. You looked at him, mouth agape. How could someone make such a good song sound so damn bad? You started laughing at his tone-deaf attempt at singing. 

Suddenly, the spark you thought was missing came back. You hunched over, unable to keep in your giggles as he put his heart and soul into his performance. In the back of your mind, you wondered what ever made you think to give up on him. This was the love of your life. You may have hit a rough patch, sure, but that didn’t change your love for each other. You started to tear up, partially because of laughing so hard and partially because of regret. As the song came to a close, Satoru sat back down out of breath. “How was that? Take me back yet?” You looked into his eyes, the ones that you adore so much. “You know, I thought that we weren’t going to make it through this stage of our relationship. I regret giving up so early, because I really do love you.” Satoru beamed. “So… does that mean you take me back?” You giggled. “You make such a bad ex, I think I might just have to take you as my boyfriend again…” Satoru jumped up, pumping his fist in the air, shouting “Woo!” 

You guys literally stayed apart for less than twelve hours. You will never leave this guy.

corporateboyfriend!gojo who comes home after a bad day. i mean, every day at the office is a bad day, but today was particularly shitty. hes exhausted and hungry, and all he wants is some peace, quiet, and rest. he comes home, his body feeling heavy, dragging himself through the door. he doesn’t even feel like going through his usual routine. he kicks his shoes off, not bothering to align them with the rest of the shoes like he usually does. he walks over to the counter and drops off his stuff. he can smell something cooking, but hed rather sleep right now more than anything. but, he feels it would be courteous to say hi to you before he goes to bed. 

next thing satoru knows, hes sitting at the dining table nearly dozing off while you cook. you’re complaining to him and hes just sitting around because he doesnt want to cut you off. but also he's too tired to communicate that he needs some space right now and desperately needs to sleep. you notice his uncharacteristic silence and ask him what’s wrong. satoru, already being as frustrated as he was with his low energy and hunger, just gets really upset. hes had a very long day: his team isnt doing their jobs, his manager wont stop nagging, and his project is due in three days. 

you watch as he unbuttons the top few buttons of his shirt and loosens his tie. he holds his head in one of his hands, deeply sighing. you furrow your brows because something isnt right. you turn down the stove and approach him with worry. you open your mouth to speak your concerns again before you suddenly hear him say, “god, could you be quiet? please?”

stumbling back in shock, you immediately shut your mouth and back away from him. it was clear he didnt want to be talked to, but his words felt like a stab through your body. you look at him again and see his eyes blown wide, regret immediately covering his face. you and satoru never really fought over frivolous things, so this was an absolute first, leaving the both of you in surprise and confusion. 

you meekly utter an apology, and turn to walk away. forgetting his previous exhaust, satoru jumps up. “wait, please. i’m sorry i didn’t mean it” you sigh. “its ok, youre tired i get it.” you reply, you back still facing him. you feel as his arms wrap around your waist and his body envelopes yours. “i know that i had a really shitty work day today, but that doesnt mean i get to disrespect you like that. im sorry.” you smile and lean back into his embrace, knowing he was already forgiven. “its okay, really satoru. if you want to make it up to me, why dont you eat dinner with me tonight? arent you hungry?” 

you feel his face nuzzle into your neck. “again, im sorry, i really do love you… whats for dinner?”

how jjk men show they’re sorry after an argument

Gojo who apologizes with his money. He’s an avid gift buyer, coming home with flowers and cards and stuffed animals while you’re still pouting. The type of guy to get on his hands and knees because he simply doesn't care and would do anything just so you can look at him again. Of course, you always will forgive him because you love him and he’s great. In my opinion, also the most likely to own up to his mistakes and make genuine change. 

Geto who has the most poetic apologies. He’s mr full blown apology, sitting you down and ranting on and on about what went wrong and how things will be different next time. The communication in your relationship is always very important to him. He’s really good with his words so it's really easy to find where he's coming from and to forgive him, and so you guys make up in maybe thirty minutes after an argument. Maybe also a little manipulative with the way you forgive him with his words so easily (uh oh).

Nanami who’s lowkey a stubborn apologizer. Unfortunately, I think he's the type of guy to not think he's wrong and drag it out for as long as he can before he realizes he actually is wrong and then wont stop apologizing. He will take over every chore you have, will buy you things, will say he’s sorry over and over again even if you're already over it. He feels so sorry for ever even doubting that you were right. He probably won’t ever forgive himself, but you’re long over it and waiting for him to just forget it ever happened. 

Toji who isn’t too sure how to say sorry. He’s the type of guy to not really know how to say sorry but he tries anyway. Usually tries to mend things with a simple, “I’m sorry,” but he never really apologizes more than that. He’s not used to receiving, let alone giving apologies, but he wants to try with you because he wants you to know that he’s willing to make change and adapt to you. Although he isn’t too great with his words sometimes, he will treat you extra well (even better than before! and he treats you super well!!!) for the next 2 weeks lol. 

Sukuna who hates saying sorry. He never ever will say sorry because it would hurt his pride too much. However, upon seeing how upset your arguments with him made you, he lets go of his pride just a little bit. Instead of saying sorry, he shows you he is through little actions. He stops doing things you don’t like him doing for a little: he shows up on time, is a little more proper, tries to be a little nicer. Small things that other people would barely notice, but you deeply appreciate him trying.

valentines day with jjk men

Gojo who goes all out: taking the day off, spending thousands of dollars, making sure the day is absolutely perfect for his darling. He takes Valentine’s day very seriously. He wakes you up with your favorite breakfast in bed, one that he spent way too long making in the very early hours in the morning. He finishes off breakfast by gifting you a considerably large bouquet of red roses and a teddy bear the size of an actual bear. He beckons you to eat and get ready so you two can spend the rest of your day together. You go shopping (and come home with armfuls of designer shopping bags), go to a restaurant (that costs basically your entire paycheck for the appetizer alone), and drive around the city in one of his all-too-nice cars. You both fall asleep the second you come home, exhausted from all the love shared throughout the day. 

Geto who likes to treat Valentine’s day as if it were any other date. Don’t get me wrong though, because every date with him is special and unforgettable. He picks you up from your workplace with an assortment of purple, pink, white, and red flowers. He plants a kiss on your lips as you get into his car, and the two of you head to the restaurant that you seem to always come back to. Dinner is eaten, conversations are spoken, and the two of you head back home to watch a movie. Whether it be The Notebook or The Conjuring, movies are always enjoyable with him. The two of you bundle up under one blanket on the couch and share a couple snacks, very much enjoying your Valentine’s this year.

Nanami who prefers to do Valentine’s at home. Although going out and spoiling you is nice too, he would much rather stay at home with you. A mundane day is his favorite, considering his incredibly demanding life. So, for Valentine’s day, he skips out on whatever overtime he may be forced into, and comes home to you with some white tulips. You two make and have a candlelit dinner, bake a cake, watch a shitty romcom, have a warm bath while talking about your days, and sleep entangled with each other. It’s nothing special, but it’s something the both of you couldn’t keep yourselves from looking forward to. 

Toji who truly is trying his best. It almost makes you hysterical, seeing him be so stupified by a holiday for love, but you know he just wants to try for you. He comes home with totally irrelevant gifts: lilies (which is normal), a whisk, red towels, and play-doh. You’re dying laughing, clenching onto your core and holding onto the counter for support as you fall over from laughing. He’s just utterly mortified. So, in an attempt to make it up, Toji invites you out to dinner. Toji loves to see you all dressed up, so this is great for him too. He treats you to dinner, but the wait for a table during Valentine’s is absurdly long at every restaurant. Toji ends up taking you to get some random ramen place he knows, and after treating you to ice cream. The two of you come home and fall asleep. Some people may not have considered your day favorable, but you think it’s absolutely perfect and wouldn’t trade it for anything else. 

Sukuna who doesnt give a single flying fuck about Valentine’s day. But, he is willing to give it a chance this time around, just for you. He grumbles as he walks through the store staring at all the people deciding what to buy for their loved ones. He eventually picked up a box of chocolates, a bouquet of pink carnations, and a white stuffed bear because those just happened to be the things that were popular amongst other shoppers. He looks online for date ideas, and figures tickets to a museum wouldn’t be so bad. He surprises you with the gifts when you come home, and you are so excited. He thinks that maybe this whole “Valentine’s” ordeal isn’t so bad after all. He’s trying, and maybe soon he will see improvement, and that’s wonderful to you.

gojo who hugs you playfully. the type of guy to pick you up and spin you around, i feel. the whole time youre begging him to put you down because youre dizzy, but he just laughs and carries on. also the type of guy to go in for a hug and then tickle you mercilessly. he always has you giggling when youre in his hold, and hes pretty much smiling the whole time too. hot take: he doesnt really hug people, but hes really big on physical touch. so, although he wont hug you often, his hands are always slung around your shoulder, wrapped around your waist, or holding onto your hands.

geto who likes greeting hugs. will always start his hellos with a hug and say his goodbyes with one too. every time you see him, you expect it. usually has a hold on your back with one arm and your waist with his other. usually holds you just long enough to inhale your scent, then lets you go. he likes being a casual hugger, but his hugs always seem memorable.

nanami who is a little bit of an awkward hugger. like, loose side hug kind of feel. i mean, he does hug you, but its more like pulling you in just enough so that your chest is barely grazing against his, and he kind of just… slightly rubs/pats your back a little. pulls away quickly. i feel hes a lot bigger on small, intimate touches rather than things like hugging. ex. when he sits next to you he will find your hand and play with your fingers, stuff like that.

toji who basically engulfs you in all of his hugs. hes got such a big frame that youre basically just squished in him. he hugs you tight, arms around your waist, pushing air up out of you. he doesnt really seem like the kinda guy to ask for hugs, but he is such a sucker for them. will hug you whenever he can, no matter his mood. he holds you for a long time, making hours of your day dedicated to holding him. hes kinda like a big teddy bear basically.

sukuna who is NOT a hugger. if you really want to, maybe he will put his arm around your shoulder for a little. i am dead set on this man being a d1 kisser but a downright refuser for hugs. he thinks it makes him look too soft or something idk. just doesn’t enjoy being restricted in someone elses arms.
