In this day and age, many vampires are losing their homes (decrepit old mansions getting demolished to make way for condominiums, castles getting turned into museums). Fr. Dracula expands the parish's ministry for the poor to include these homeless vampires. They get free room and board in the bell tower with the regular bats and Fr. Dracula finds ways for them to keep busy. The church's old graveyard gets a crew of suitably creepy caretakers. The Austrian composer who was turned in the 1700s plays the organ at Mass. The parish office becomes staffed by fanged accountants happily counting every penny from the offering boxes.
Several of the church's vampiric residents take to spending their nights checking up on the homeless mortals who frequent the parish food pantry, conjuring mists to hide them when the police are nearby and delivering extra blankets when it's cold. Fr. Dracula adds a blood bank to the food pantry at the insistence of the homeless patrons who want to help their new friends stay fed too.
i love the concept of a vampire priest because it either means that they're a priest purely for the aesthetic, which implies they studied at a theological seminary for at least 4 years, served as a transitional deacon, then went through the process of ordination literally just so they get to have some dead flowers and skulls and stand creepily in some pews with organ music, OR they're genuinely a devoted catholic and wanted to serve god & the church even as a vampire. both options are fascinating but frankly i think there should be more vampire priests who are genuinely devoutly catholic and are currently performing olympic level mental gymnastics to justify their partaking in the eucharist

THE ENTIRE WEST IS BEING PUT UP FOR SALE AND I AM BEGGING YOU TO CALL YOUR SENATORS
Tumblr media
Trump’s budget bill has many, many things in it, but buried amongst it is the MILLIONS OF ACRES OF PUBLIC LAND FOR SALE.
This is the entirety of the Arizona state forests, the entire Cascades mountain range. Swathes of pristine desert around the national parks in Utah. On the doorstep of Jackson Hole.
THIS BILL IS BIG, BUT IT CAN BE AMENDED AND ABSOLUTELY MUST NOT PASS AS IS please.
If you have ever enjoyed the wilderness, we stand to lose it all forever.
CALLING your senators - NOT JUST IN THE WEST. ALL SENATORS, is CRUCIAL.
Outdoor alliance has a great resource for reaching out.
I don’t have a huge following but please, everywhere I have ever loved, the forests I grew up playing in, the land I got married on, is all at risk and I am begging.

YOU DON'T FUCKING SAY
I was going to make a joke about how people tell their hairdressers so many personal details that I wouldnt be surprised if someone confessed to murder while I was styling their hair but then I remembered that was an actual thing that happened when I was in cosmetology school

PSA to Naturalized Citizens in the US
Some time ago I went to request a new ss card on the social security website and it said I wasn't a citizen despite being naturalized over 15 years ago as a kid. Then found out my parents and siblings have the same problem.
If you're a naturalized citizen of the US check on the Social Security website
You're unfortunately going to have to make an account if you don't have one and confirm your identity.
When you're done request a new card (even if you already have yours) and it'll tell you what the status is
There's an issue where some people were never told they had to change that status with SS after naturalization and that it doesn't automatically change
I'm of the belief that no one should be illegal and fuck ICE all the way, but this is a way to make sure that my fellow immigrants, documented or not, are safe
Please reblog to boost.

So I did end up going to see it in the theater! It way exceeded my expectations. Great fight choreography, solid script, and a fantastic cast. Ben Wang is a worthy successor to the Karate Kid title 👍👍
Will you be watching Karate Kid Legends?
Probably! I'm a little apprehensive about how good it will be, but the KK franchise has a pretty solid track record with its sequels. I don't know if I'll get around to seeing it in theaters but if not then I'll check it out on streaming eventually.

That’s Louis Rossman, a repair technician and YouTuber, who went viral recently for railing against Apple. Apple purposely charges a lot for repairs and you either have to pay up or buy a new device. That’s because Apple withholds necessary tools and information from outside repair shops. And to think, we were just so close to change.

I wish more people would talk about how isolating being mixed race can be. It's like we aren't welcome anywhere. I'm not dark enough to be included in conversations that effect my black relatives, but I'm not light enough for the privileges my white relatives have. I was born from a white man and a black woman but I am not allowed to associate with my black heritage, for I am too light so it would be an insult and I would be invading their spaces. But I can't feel comfortable in predominantly white spaces because racism / biases stick and it isn't long before you are faced with it. Not to mention labelling myself "white" would feel like alienating a part of myself, my own blood, the culture I was brought upon. And well, I'm not white. I'm not pale. I'm brown and I'm tan and I have my father's smile but my mother's curly coily hair. Most assume I'm Indian or Hispanic, but im not so of course I cannot place myself in those circles, but then where do I belong? Where am I allowed to me? I was raised by people I only look half-alike. I was raised with their experiences and their culture and their mannerisms, but to a stranger how dare I associate with them. I'm not dark enough. I'm not light enough. It's so isolating

This feels like a good time to say that if you stopped masking in the last few years, it's never too late to start again. It's up to us to take care of each other's health and our own, because this administration certainly won't.
