The Sudanese Diaspora Network (SDN) has launched a benefit fundraiser to provide necessary humanitarian relief the Sudanese people during this time of crisis. 100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will go to three organizations:
Fill A Heart
BHO
NubiYouth
Please watch the video, share the post on IG, and share the fundraiser link on other socials. Also, donate if you can. Every little bit is important and helps.
Protect your community by wearing N95s and KN95s when meeting indoors or in crowds! The more of us mask up, the less we get sick, the harder it is for police to surveil us, and the safer we make our shared spaces for our disabled and immuno-compromised comrades and loved ones.
Get started by finding local mask resources on the global COVID Action Map (you can also submit groups to be added). If you have the means, donate masks and tests to your local orgs and encourage accessibility so we can ALL join the fight (bringing in interpreters/translators and medics, ensuring accessibility for wheelchairs/mobility devices, offering child care, filtering the air indoors, setting up virtual options etc).
UPDATE: Download this 8.5"x11" poster for free on itch.io to print and distribute! Includes files suitable for color, black and white, and risograph printing. Any donations will go to printing costs, or buying masks for my local mutual aid groups.
Pandemics have no borders, and all our struggles are united!
The below write-up is from a previous post I made for Courtney but I copy and pasted it as I'm fatigued and it's still relevant.
For those of you who know my blog, you know my friend Courtney needs support. The reality is it is unlikely that that will change soon given that she is a disabled single mom providing for 3 kids with a low-wage job. I love her dearly and she genuinely struggles every day. I want to make the world better for her. I talk often about the power of community care. Courtney needs this consistently. If you are a non-Black person who is financially secure, please consider giving her reparations every month or biweekly. I will put her paylinks below. To work towards and as an accomplice of Black liberation, you need to be committed.
This part is not copy pasted but new.
Currently, her family is struggling with food, getting their water on, and saving for next month's rent. They don't have water at the moment and her son has no clean underwear left. They really need the water back on. The sooner the better. They need 136 more to get the water. If you see this, please send a dollar if possible, or even 50 cents. Small donations add up. Give reparations consistently and commit, but if you can't do it consistently still help out when you can.
My girlfriend recently got a job, which is exciting for us but she needs help getting some work clothes/shoes and funds to get to her work trainings. What is most important is getting to her trainings and getting non slip shoes but she wont be getting paid until much later in the month so if you can please help us until we have some stable income!
Soulbunni, a talented artist, art student, and YouTube content creator, was doxxed by people who it seems were angered by her criticisms of the racist actions of their favorite "leftist" Internet celebrities, and thus has to move when the fall semester ends in December for her own safety.
I am LIVID, and this is just another case of the toxicity fostered within these online "leftist" spaces that's sadly become all too common.
But what's important right now is helping Soulbunni afford her move. So please pass on her fundraiser, and contribute if you're able. This is just...so inhumane.
Wearing a mask is probably the easiest and most accessible way to materially make others lives better. It is an act of love. It is an act that cares for your community. And it is something everyone can do.
It's always the people -communities around us and all around the world that help each other when we need it the most. Not governments who regularly let citizens in their own countries starve/not have equitable access to dental and medical care and overall have safety/security in many elements of their years spent on this planet.
Seeing content like this reminds me that it's community care -NOT government care that often makes a difference in so many ways. Governments/government bodies all around the world fail in so many ways -and this is just another reminder that despite the inherent functionality of what a government is supposed to do, that it's people (even with huge followings) who support the most.
The leaders and politicians in the US/Canada/Australia/Europe should live in perpetual shame for the rest of their lives, but I highly doubt they will.
Hey everyone, if you follow my partner @800-dick-pics you would know that we are currently being harassed extorted and stalked by my family on a resolved issue even after we've escaped their anti black and ableist abuse
Their harrassment is very clearly racially motivated almost exclusively singling out my black disabled neurodivergent partner, as evidenced in the screenshot they provided on their post (there's more than this one, but its all too hard to read)
At this point, I want nothing more than for my gf and I to be left alone entirely by my family with no way of contacting us, this is a dire emergency! They will not leave us alone as long as they have a means to terrorize us
At the present we need *at least $500* to afford food, toiletries and new phones with new numbers to be able to cut them off once and for all
We will continue to be harassed if this goal is not met, we will not be able to know peace if we can't cut them off completely so we NEED this ASAP for our collective health
Anything and everything helps
We're hungry and scared and just want to be left alone so we can heal and we can't do that without the support of the community
Hi everyone. After paying for rent and some bills, I鈥檓 in major need of help.
To get through to my next payday, I鈥檓 in need of at least $400. That鈥檚 for bills, food, and my rides to work every day.
I鈥檓 a disabled Mexican indigenous lesbian who works full time and still can barely make ends meet. I was ill last pay period and had to miss some hours that would鈥檝e helped me a ton.
Please share this and donate if you鈥檙e able. It would be so so helpful and most appreciated.
Accepting that we are all going to repeatedly contract a virus that causes cumulative vascular damage, is accepting that the most vulnerable among us will die. Layered covid mitigations, starting with wearing a high quality respirator, says no to preventable infections and "acceptable" death.
Image Description: Dark grey and red text over a grey scale background. The background is an image of an N95 respirator. The dark grey text reads, "Say NO to preventable infections". Red text offset behind the grey text reads, "Acceptable death".
Heyyyy Besties! One of my long term Facebook friends is an unhoused Black trans woman who does mutual aid organizing for Black trans women. She raises funds and redistributes them to a list of people she helps who are all Black and transfemme. She's done this every month for 3 years! Last month she hit a record in terms of redistributing and hit 1470 dollars, but she has a bunch of recipients so it doesn't go as far as people expect. Please reblog, I see a lot of people talk about supporting Black trans women but I wanna see action.
Today I survived an attempted stabbing, I am highly traumatized and not coping well. I had to lean on family to get a ticket out of here for my partner and I but I still need $200 for taxi/ubers to get out of here on the 6th
Im leaving a lot of shit behind but since Im still in active danger I have to do it. Im scared Im going to die here or worse. So if youre able to share and/or donate it would be appreciated.
