Social Isolation

I wanna express this, so that people at least try to understand and try to help those who are going through the same thing.

Throughout many points in my life, I was forced to go through social isolation, which is an involuntary lack of contact between an individual and society. Right now, I've had to endure it for a few months, due to lack of transportation. Before, in the past, it never really affected me, cause I sorta enjoyed it, but now, as an adult with serious attachment issues, it's damaged me mentally and emotionally, and continues to do so as I type this out.

Because of my social isolation, I don't really know how to connect with people and I'm completely unstable, emotionally. All it can take is one small mistake, either on my part or the other person's part, and I'll instantly blow it out of proportion, explode and say things that I regret later on, or become extremely depressed and just push people away and act cold, even though I want them to help me. I vent to my friends, yet if they don't reply on the dot, then my mood worsens by the minute, which doesn't help much, yet I can't really control it, at this point.

Mentally, social isolation has recently driven me to episodes of insanity, because a person can only go for so long all by themselves. For me, it's gotten to where I suffer from hallucinations spawned by an extreme phobia of mine and just...... Switch to an irrational and unusual mindset, where I just don't act like myself. Every day, I feel trapped in a place that I should be calling home, but instead call a prison; I feel like I'm not really tolerable for the outside world, and that maybe I deserve to be alone forever, which has partially desensitized me to the isolation, but in a negative way, meaning I tend to willfully refuse to socialize, cause in a way, I've grown used to the isolation.

In other words, it's a major conflict with myself; on one hand, I know that I need to get out of the house when I'm able to do so, but on the other hand, I don't know how to reconnect with society and refuse, because I'm desensitized to the very thing that's causing me mental and emotional damage.

At this point in my social isolation, digital contact with people isn't enough, and I'm desperate for real life contact, because I know that that'll get me back on the right track to reconnect with the world, yet for now, that isn't possible, because I have no method of transportation.

I know this isn't a huge issue, but if there's anyone you know who's going through social isolation, please do find ways to get them out and into the world or with friends, because that can help them a lot in the long run, because social isolation can cause suicidal thoughts and attempts, or major emotional instability, like with myself.

Like I get they’re jokes and shit, but I just really hate soviet memes like I just saw one about Gorbachev getting Pizza Hut and the joke is that it destroyed communism (the Soviet Union). Like that shit was not communism from its inception. That state was built on the murder of peasants, Jews, and literally every other non-Slavic ethnic minority. It was white supremacist and colonizing and it’s leaders (yes every single one not just Stalin) cared more about holding onto power than the soviet people. Like, it wasn’t better there y’all, they literally got nothing right. It was just as much a police state as the US is. It was just as racist. Maybe fewer people starved but the majority of the population was destitute. The only ppl who got by were the ones who could game the beauracracy.

This isn’t anti-communist propaganda. This is my mother telling me how she had her head bashed into the asphalt as a kid for being Jewish and her teacher didn’t do anything to stop it. This is my grandma telling me how for the first 10 years after university she owned 1 (one) skirt and 1 (one) blouse that she wore to work every day because she did not make enough to eat and buy another skirt. This is my grandpa telling me about how he was interrogated by the KGB about his neighbor once, and he said final goodbyes to his family, because everyone knew if you went with the KGB for interrogation you didn’t come back. He came back because he was lucky and didn’t know shit. This is agents showing up to my great grandmothers home to “warn” her about communicating with her siblings in the states. She was so terrified she burned all of their addresses, and as a result my family has completely lost like 6 branches of our family tree. My father was beaten almost daily in the soviet army for being a Jew. Until he almost killed himself and they transferred him to the kitchen finally.

Do I need to keep going? Or are you all going to dismiss this as being counter-revolutionary? Because I’m so over seeing soviet apologism on my dash even as a joke, because it’s not funny, and there are millions of people who carry generational trauma from living under that regime.
