I don't have strong feelings about Labubus, I think they're cute but I don't have any desire to collect them, but I do think the "discourse" around them is sooo strange. A lot of people point to them as the Tiktok fueled demise of all hope and the avatar of overconsumption and like . . .

I struggle with a lot of feelings of worthlessness these days, but one thing that makes me really happy, is sometimes when I go on Toyhouse, someone will upload their character with art I'd done for them a long time ago. Since it's harder to draw nowadays, I just get so happy to see that old art still loved and cherished. Younger me, would be so happy too I think. she was a fucking beast. She could draw 10+ things in a day and would only stop when she was ready to pass out. She loved creating and sharing those creations with people. So even though ability and inspiration are harder to come by these days, I'm heartened, because it feels like younger me did enough art for the both of us, and sometimes I get a gift from her. She put her heart and soul into everything she did, and she was suffering through so much too.

i hate when rich people condescend with the whole 'money can't buy happiness' argument like listen. just because buying your fourth car didn't fill the void in your deluded disconnected-from-reality life doesn't mean not having to worry about food/ bills/medicine wouldn't greatly improve the mental health of literally everyone else on the planet

I think being autistic has made me realize how extremely hostile the environments we have designed are. And I don't mean "this environment is uniquely hostile to me because I am autistic" I mean that even normies are just existing in brutal, stagnant spaces, they have just internalized them as normal. We could have it all, we could live in such a beautiful and fascinating world, designed by humans and for humans who actually enjoy life and it's complexity and wonder. but even now it's like, seen as kinda hippy-dippy bullshit to have "excessive" indoor plants in a workspace or something

ever notice how you can be emotionally mature, self-aware, therapized, journaled-up, and still fall face-first into your own humanity?

like you clock the red flag in real time, you name your inner child’s need, you breathe through the trigger—and then still spiral bc someone took too long to text back or you accidentally caught feelings for a walking trauma response

self-awareness doesn’t save you from feelings. it just lets you watch them unfold like, “ah yes. here comes the emotional devastation. completely understood. totally irrational. unstoppable.”

you can be wise and still messy. evolved and still yearning. a tragic little sea slug of consciousness, floating toward the light and bumping into rocks anyway.
