I just finished reading A Crown of Velvet Thorns and I NEED MORE!!! PLEASE!!!!! I don't know how you managed to convey such a passionate bond between Leonidas and the MC in just a single chapter but you ARE SO GOOD AT IT!!!!
and I have no idea if you answer questions like this but ever since I finished it I've had this question rattling around in my brain. How would Leonidas react if our MC saved him and sacrificed our life for his? (please don't feel pressured to answer this if you don't want to I just need to get it out of my system)
This message made me smile so much :) Thank you for taking the time to send this, I'm really glad that you liked A Crown of Velvet Thorns!! And I'm so happy that I'm not the only one that likes their romance with more than a little angst.
Oooh I love this writing prompt!! <3 I am definitely going to answer this! I'm not able to get much writing done currently, but I'm going to set this prompt to the side and post a proper response once I'm able to. Also, poor Leonidas! She is, after all, the only thing he couldn't bear losing ;) Writing this one is going to hurt, I feel bad for him already :P

Hey can I politely ask if you exclusively write male ros? Absolutely no hate if you do, I was just wondering since one story is all men and the other two dont have any ros listed.
You have perfect timing! I was just wondering to myself the other day how difficult it would be to make it optional for the romance options in TLD (and my other stories) to be different genders depending on player preference. I've been trying to teach myself how to code as I go, which has been fun but definitely a learning experience haha! I'm not sure how advanced that sort of feature would be, but I'm going to look into it. So to answer your question: nope, I don't exclusively write male ROs :) Are there any specific options you'd be interested in? <3

This is chapter 2 and I was wondering if this where it end if you choose no one
Tumblr media
Yeah that's where it ends, sorry for the confusion! It seems like itchio isn't updating with the most recent copy of TLD that lists that as the end so I'm going to troubleshoot that tonight :)

New Project Launch: A Crown of Velvet Thorns
Prince Leonidas, the future King of Libertine, wears devotion like a sin and bleeds like a saint. But not for his kingdom. He does it all for you.
Check out the first chapter here!
Tumblr media
If you're in the mood for angst, romance, and slow burn longing set against the backdrop of a royal court, then this one's for you :) This story has been living rent free in my head for the last ten years. It's a bit of a departure from my usual genre on this site, it leans more into forbidden romance and yearning.
I will be working on this when I don't have the brainpower to do the worldbuilding necessary for The Last Divine.  Once I'm back and fully functional, I plan on incorporating choices into this. For now, it's more of a linear demo, but it will be a good litmus test to see if people are interested in it. Take care and I hope you enjoy the dash of angst<3
Story
Everyone believes Prince Leonidas bleeds for Libertine. For honor, for The King, for the crown he will inherit. But they’ve never seen the way he looks at you. They don’t see the boy who still carries a rose you gave him ten years ago, pressed flat with magic and grief.
You are not a noble. You are not his equal. You are the stablehand with dirt under your nails and memories on your lips. The only one who’s ever seen him cry, the only one who never bowed.
The court challenges his rule- his capacity to be ruthless. To spill the blood needed to maintain Jeilene's borders and keep its people safe. But you know the real Leonidas. The man without the crown.
In the stables, in the rain, in the quiet between duty and longing, he becomes something else. Not a prince, but a man. One who would give up everything if you asked. One who would die if it meant keeping you safe.
And when war calls him away, he leaves a promise behind.
All you have to do is call his name, and he will come.
Even if it kills him.
Check out the DEMO here!

It was a memorable experience reading your story. Yesterday I played your game for the first time and I am so glad it made it to my list of recommendations. Your description was captivating and helped me get even more attached to the world you created. I really appreciated the effort you put into identifying the personality traits of the main character. It was amazing to see that every choice I made was meaningful and had an impact. I am so happy that I was able to discover this treasure and I am fascinated by the way you managed to combine the fantastic and mysterious elements of this world throughout your narrative. I was pleasantly surprised to see that you slipped some elements of Greek mythology into your game, and the scene at the tavern with the tarot card reading was so intensely described that it sent shivers down my spine. I can't wait to see what other surprises you have in store for us in the future.
However, I would like to mention that I noticed a small typing error: “To shape and mold reality till the lines betwee truth and fiction blur.” — it should have been “between”, but an “n” is missing.
Tumblr media
Thank you for sharing this ambitious project with us, the readers. It was truly a unique experience.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with me on The Last Divine! This message honestly made my day! I'm glad you enjoyed the different aspects of the personality system as well as getting a glimpse of Jeilene and all its mysteries. It's a relief to know you enjoyed reading the scene with the fortune teller, because she will re-emerge at some point in a future chapter :) Thank you for pointing out this spelling error! Sometimes I get so fixated on the story itself that I don't pay as much attention to the more technical aspects of writing, so I appreciate you letting me know and even taking the time to send a screenshot!

okay yay :) here are all the things i spotted, i know you said you already found four so apologies for any repeats!
"She is not your ghost, Remus. She deserves to know the truth. Do not take that choice from her." -my first assumption was that this was not in reference to MC at all, like a figure from Remus's past or something, but on the off chance it is about MC, it should read 'They are,' 'They deserve,' and 'them' haha
"Do you know what would've happened to her if they'd found us again?" should be 'them'
"I tried to tell them its not a good idea, but they 's insistent." should be 'it's' and 'they're'
"Lighten up, Remus. Our lovely guest has enough on them plate without you piling on all your existential dread." should be 'their'
"they needs a warm, clean place to rest, at least for a night." should be 'They need'
"they needs to watch where they 's going." should be 'They need' and 'they're'
"Surely there's no way you're blaming my friend here for knocking them self over." i think i noticed it one other time but forgot to mark it down, should just be 'themself' with no space between. :)
"A rose for the beautiful lady." could maybe go with 'beautiful one,' something along those lines? the direct gender neutral equivalent would be 'person' but that seems a little clunky to me idk
"We should let them have them own room. The three of us can share the room next door." should be 'their'
"Someone should stay with her in case there are any unexpected visitors during the night." should be 'them'
"Why don't we ask them what they wants." should be 'they want'
"Haven't you heard? They've spotted…she ran and….its our duty to…" should be 'they' and 'it's'
"Do you really think she'd be here, in some run down village on the outskirts of Jeliene?" should be 'they'd'
Wow, this is amazing!! Thank you so much for sending me this! I had no idea there were so many pronoun errors XD I'm new to coding so I still have a lot to learn haha, I just thought the problem was that I wasn't using the code $pronounsObject or $pronounsSubject at some places. But it looks like for they/them pronouns, the code I'm using isn't translating it correctly. Thank you for catching this! I will add this to my list of things to toubleshoot :) I really appreciate you sending me this!!!

Heyaaa i really enjoyed your if. So wondering wtf mcs deal is. And i like alllll the ROs tho gta say Axis in general is just fucking hilarious.
I did get alot of pronoun errors tho from the tavern onwards everyone randomly calls my mc she. I was so confused about who they were referring to them realized ooooooh 🤣
But it was a good read and i gta sort out my saves so i stop flirting with all the ROs. 💖
Oh oh ps. I cldnt tell in the one option if we met axis before and he shows up at camp. There were 2 heart options. I wasnt really sure if both were for him or if one was for R. 🤔 i hope tht makes sense to u.
Hi, I'm so glad you're enjoying The Last Divine so far! Thanks for letting me know about those pronoun errors! I've found 4 instances of it so far from the tavern to when they leave Burthrope, I've gone in and corrected this in the next build I'll be uploading soon, please let me know if you encounter any additional pronoun errors!
In the part where Axis shows up at camp, one of the heart options gives you points with Axis (*seduced is a strong word*) and the other gives you points with Remus (*tell him he overestimates his abilities*). I've considered a workaround to situations where it's difficult to know which choices give affection points with which LI by making different colored hearts associated with each LI (red for Axis, blue for Kyliah, green for Remus, black for Severin, and then gold for the hidden route). I may add this when I fix those pronoun errors if that would help :)

hello, i really enjoyed playing through your game! all of the ros are fun and intriguing so far, but i cannot lie the man i am truly invested in is our boy galen, wizard peepaw please survive ;_; also why didnt he tell us about the blood rain....kinda sus. or at the very least just a dick move, like man come on a little heads up wouldve been nice??? lmfao
anyways i was playing through with they/them pronouns and noticed a few typos, should i send them in another ask or is there a different platform you would prefer to receive them on? thanks, have a good day! :)
Thank you! Hehe Galen will get a bit more screen time in the next couple chapters! Yes, definitely sus. Poor MC had no way of knowing what they were doing until Remus called them out XD
That would be amazing if you could send them in!!! Thank you, a few people have mentioned this since I published chapter two yesterday. So far I've spotted four (one when Kyliah was talking about MC when they were discussing who they'd share a room with and a few others between then and when they leave Burthrope). If you've spotted any other pronoun typos, please send them in and I will go in and correct those. Thank you!!

Chapter 2 of The Last Divine has been released!
Tumblr media
Hi everyone!
We're kicking off the weekend with a bang! Chapter 2 of The Last Divine has been released!  Aside from the content update itself, this Chapter will come with a few other significant changes.
Updates with chapter two will include:
Choices that raise affection with a love interest are now marked with a heart
The music in chapter one has been changed to create a more immersive experience
The Divine Dominions points system has been adjusted so that players will now discover their specific abilities in Chapter 4 (which will allow me to incorporate more choices associated with that between now and then)
A Light Version of The Last Divine will now be published with every major update, which will be available for players who prefer to read with a light/beige background and darker text (versus a dark background with white text)
Updated Personality Titles
Important!- In order for Chapter Two to run without encountering a bug that will prevent you from reading most of the chapter, players will have to restart the game from the beginning of the first chapter. Using a prior save file will result in an error.
A huge thanks to all of my beta readers! You guys helped me sort through the chaos and really figure out what I wanted this chapter to be. I want to thank 0650snno/solrein, PLanManz, and starshinegirls, as well as the rest of my beta readers for all of their help and feedback! If you are a beta reader not listed here that would like to be listed, please check for an email from me :)  Major changes to the versions you all ready will occur when MC and her companions arrive at the town of Burthrope.
Regarding future updates, it will probably be a few months before my next significant update due to IRL stuff that will have me out of commission for a couple months. But moving forward, this is what you can expect to see:
the ability to toggle music on and off (this one is kicking my ass, I've already tried implementing it twice haha)
the ability to change text size and font
more MC customization options (freckles, piercings, scars, amab or afab, additional hair colors)
a riverbed scene between MC and her chosen LI :)
Thank you so much to everyone who's waited patiently for this update! I've been a huge fan of all the IFs and visual novels the insanely talented creators on this site post, it's wild to finally be dipping my toes into the other side of things myself. Even more wild to think people are actually interested in what I'm writing! As always, I would love to hear your thoughts on the chapter! Feedback is so helpful in letting me know what works well and what needs some extra help haha!
Check out the second chapter here!
Happy Gaming!

Ashen Rose sounds really interesting, I'd definitely play it too - except, in the post you refer to the MC as a woman. Would the MC be genderlocked? Because that'd unfortunately change my answer, I don't enjoy playing as female characters 😅
No it definitely would not be gender locked. MC would be fully customizable! (gender, pronouns, hair color, eye color, skin color, hair length, height, name). Sorry about not specifying that!

hi there. Just wanted to hop on in and say i look forward to the progressing of this story. I have yet to read the first chapter, but the description of the dragon rider has me in chokehold.
I'm so glad you enjoyed my description of Axis! I'm working on the second chapter of The Last Divine now and writing his scenes is always so much fun!

The Ashen Rose of Libertine
New project maybe?
Tumblr media
Soul eater.  Monster.
That was what they called you. That was what the crowd chanted as they dragged you, shackled and bloodied, through the town square.  You are a spoil of war. One of the few rare and precious things left in Jeilene. Capable of calling forth the powers of the elements, you are one of the six human mage's that survived The Great War.
After years on the run, living as a nomad, you and your comrads are captured and brought to The Coloseum.
They meant to make an example of you. A brutal, public death for yourself and your friends.
They meant to humiliate you. Desecrate you.
They meant to watch you squirm like a rat in a cage. To make you beg as the lives of yourself and your friends were slowly snuffed out.
That was what they'd intended.
But everyone has secrets.  Maybe you most of all.
And you will be no one's marionette. In a world like Jeilene, a secret like yours could bring about the dawn of a new age. Or the extinction of what's left of your race.
Will you choose to embrace the darkness? To become the monster? The Soul Eater? Or will you chose the high road -the path of the righteous -regardless of what it may cost?
Your choices will have consequences. You will not be the only one affected by your actions. The people you meet along the way will reap the benefits- or consequences- of your choices as well.  So, whatever you do, just remember.
Choose wisely.
New/dual IF maybe?

A couple seconds pass before a figure precipitates in front of you. The atmosphere crackles as the shadow takes shape, wisps of black materializing like a phantom specter stepping out from the ether. Your next few breaths are heavy. His eyes are cold and calculating as they pass over the tunic across your chest. “Lift your shirt.” You stare the man down, unmoving. The tension in the air is palpable, like a live wire without a fixed point. You know what they’re looking for. The birthmark across your chest.

Can we choose whether MC is amab or afab? Or only pronouns?
I am planning on adding this feature in the next update as well as expanding some of the other customizable options for MC (i.e. freckles, piercings, scars, ect.)!

Will there be a light mode? (i.e. just a plain white background or sepia) It's hard to read on a black for me. It's tiring for the eyes.
Hi! Yes, I can definitely put together a version with a lighter background for those that prefer a plain white/neutral background. I'll reformat it and have it available in the next day or so! Thank you for pointing this out!
6/20/25- Light mode has officially been released!

Hi All,
This will be my first post for my new romantasy interactive fiction novel, The Last Divine. If you're into sexy necromancers and charming dragon riders, then you're in the right place :) Check out the first chapter here!
The Last Divine
The Gods want you back, but he won't let them take you. You walk a path you were never meant to survive...
DEMO
The Last Divine  is a text-based fantasy romance set in the medieval-inspired realm of Jeilene. It is a character-driven interactive fiction novel that loosely borrows from elements of Greek Mythology. The choices you make throughout will shape your personality, your abilities, and ultimately the trajectory of Jeilene's future. They will also influence the relationships you form, whether platonic, romantic, or something altogether more nefarious...
  ═════════════
The Story
Hunted by the King’s most ruthless assassins with powers you do not yet understand, you are thrust into a struggle for survival. Raised alone in a tower by your Master Galen since birth, you know little of the world beyond, and even less of why the birthmark on your chest has branded you for death. Your master warned you that this day would come. That, one day, you would be hunted. Even so, he's been evasive about what lies ahead—only that the answers you seek can be found in the heart of the capital. Your only guides are the uncertain allies you meet along the way—each carrying their own secrets.
═════════════
Jeilene
Sheltered as you are, you know little of Jeilene and its Immortal King, Icarus. Only what you've managed to glean from the books Galen would bring you during his trips to the nearby village, New Haven, for supplies. People whisper that he is The Last Divine, half-gods that once ruled the lands when food was plentiful and blood did not run as freely. Whether man or Divine, when he sends his huntsmen for you, you do the only thing you can to ensure that you see the next sunrise- you run.
═════════════
Customizable MC
Have the ability to fully customize MC, including name, pronouns, hair color, eye color, skin color, and height. The choices you make throughout the game will determine MC's personality, which is also customizable. Choose to play while pursuing love, or forego romance and focus on carving out your place in Jeilene while surviving the wrath of its Immortal King, Icarus, and his Huntsmen.
═════════════
The Love Interests
Kyliah (he/him) – The Seer Mysterious and enigmatic, Kyliah looks at you like you are his salvation—or his ruin. He has had visions of you long before your first meeting in the forest. His usual soft-spoken nature only makes the fierceness with which he protects you even more unexpected.
Remus (he/him) – The Knight Hardened by years of battle and bloodshed, Remus is determined to put an end to the King's carnage—no matter the cost. But when he meets you, he starts to question his convictions, and whether he's truly willing to pay the price peace demands.
Severin (he/him) – The Necromancer Stoic and commanding, Severin spends more time with the dead than the living. His interest in you is an exception to his self-imposed isolation. He would have you believe that his motivations are entirely selfish. But he knows things he shouldn't—about you, and the people that hunt you.
Axis (he/him) – The Dragon Rider An unapologetic flirt, the only thing that burns hotter than his touch is his dragon. Though he takes an immediate interest in you, Axis has his own reasons for offering to help you on your journey. But what does he hide behind his silver tongue and charming wit?
Trigger warnings for character violence, sexual situations, sexual content depending on game choices (can opt out of), and possible character death.
═════════════
Survival Stats
Play with 5 survival stats: hunger, thirst, vitality, arcane stability, and blood price, each of which must be managed as the player navigates a  world of forsaken gods and fractured magic. Or forego these survival elements and toggle survival stats off for a cozier gaming experience. (Default/playing via browser automatically enables playing with survival stats. Download the game below to play without them).  Uncover the secrets of Jeilene in a branching narrative where every choice matters.
═════════════ In a land that has forgotten gods, will you become Jeilene's savior... or its downfall?
A text-based interactive novel
