Just a warning for those who want to ask questions to those blog :
It will take me a while to answer, I get busy with things such as my education, my blogs and my overall life and this blog can be pretty stressful for me (both due to a somewhat negative start out + due to not wanting to accidentally say something wrong) and it takes me a while to find all the right stuff and to write up the right answers, so if you really, and i mean REALLY need an answer soon then let me know. That way I can try prioritize your ask if its some kind of emergency where you need to know the information, but otherwise I will be going at my own pace and answering whatever asks I feel I can at the time.
Okay, that's it, bye! Thank y'all for supporting this blog too <3 (/platonic)

Copeidentity def:
A trauma response where your emotions are so intense and so different from each other that they esssentially feel like their own people, largely due to identity confusion [especially in bpd or dissociative disorders]
Ah, then yeah, sure it's fine. As long as they don't claim to have alters / call them alters (because it's quite literally the medical term for alternative identity states in DID/OSDD) and as long as they don't try to come into system communities claiming to be systems, then they're fine

What do you think about Cope identity?
honestly I've been searching this up to try find what it means and I still have no idea. So my basic 'do I support this or not' is what I'll have to say
If it's harmful or bigoted then no. If it spreads misinformation about any disorder (including DID. So if it claims to be a system or have alters w/o trauma, or anything about any other disorder) then no. If it's a radqueer term or made by a radqueer, no.
If it's harmless, not spreading misinformation and not made by radqueers then I'll support it or just generally not care much about it's existence (in like a good way. Like 'oh yeah, people identify with that, that's cool but it's not my thing' kind of way)
Hope this helps!

question, can you have did if you have amnesia just not between switches?
like you have little to no amnesia between switches but you have more severe amnesia outside of it, as in your everyday life.
or would this count under osdd-1(b)
You can! Based on what the ICD-11 says
"Alternation between distinct personality states is not always associated with amnesia. That is, one personality state may have awareness and recollection of the activities of another personality state during a particular episode. However, substantial episodes of amnesia are typically present at some point during the course of the disorder."
So yeah, you don't necessarily have to have amnesia between switches in order to have DID, though the DSM V says that OSDD 1b describes
"distinct dissociative parts (alters or alternate identities) exist and can take executive control, but without amnesia"
So I guess it may depend where you are in the world?? Or maybe when they say without amnesia they mean without amnesia at all? It's confusing (I did try to find the definition of OSDD in the ICD-11 but nothing seems to show up? I'm not really sure how to work the website yet if I'm being honest)
So to put it simply, it's kind of up to you what you want to consider yourself I guess?

for the LONGEST time I had no idea that cores couldn't exist and I thought "Oh I must be the original since I remember early childhood!!" but now that its been explained as a personality never fully formed properly and ended up splitting into different parts it makes a lot of sense
I still feel like an "original" in a sense but I've been the one in front the most I guess which is why I feel this way? And discovered the system in the first place because for years I thought I was alone. Either way I understand now I am not a core or original and I formed with others!!
Anyways uhmmm thank you!!
Yeah, we understand that. Many people feel that way and it isn't bad! Some people are just misinformed and sometimes it can be pretty hard to accept that you aren't the original (I know it was for our host, well before he kind of went off the deep end lol) but we're happy you know better now! And no problem :]

Hey, I see you site a lot of websites as sources, which is fine, but do you mind siting some research papers as well? (I'm happy to give you some if needed), I'm not saying I doubt you, but I'm still very skeptical that a blog devoted to correcting misinformation is siting mainly webpages and online health sites and not actual articles and research. I haven't seen many, if at all, papers out there in the community nor your blog, so it'd be very appreciated, thank you!
We'd appreciate some research papers sure! We haven't really been able to find any on our own and when we do find them they tend to be hard for us to read (or at least the ones we had found, but to be fair we are a bit visually impaired, so that might be our fault instead of the papers). We'd be willing to use them if we can find any information in them that would be helpful, as we try keep our sources focused on whichever topic we're talking about (e.g : a source, or a part of a source, focusing on OSDD because someone asked us about it)

Yeah I think you are the one here who is confusing what a core is. A core is usually described as the "original" alter, the one who "came / existed first", though based on the theory of structural dissociation this is disproven as the identity never fully forms and therefore there cannot be an original (perhaps if you want to be specific about it you could consider two of the first parts to be "cores" but you can't have one particular alter be first because that's not how it works)
((hopefully this is worded properly, I'm running on two hours of sleep rn))

———
Endos have theirs heads so deep in the sand they don’t even know that “cores” don’t exist.
OP is literally describing having a nuanced, rounded, multifaceted personality. Which is a thing that singlets have. Singlets are complex people, not 2D cardboard cutouts of a self.
It’s okay to not be the most special sometimes, I promise.

So, there's this. This is a video made by Aspenfrosten or The Entourage System on tiktok, this video was made shortly after she removed plural kit from her discord server
First of all let's focus on that first part
""you took away my accomodations""
This is apparently something that some people in her server said after plural kit had been removed, she's mocking them for saying this. Now, are they right for saying this? Technically yes but also no
"Disability accommodation is an umbrella term for a range of accommodation or supported living services that are available to assist people who are living with a disability"
Technically by this definition you may be able to consider plural kit a form of accommodation as it does assist systems by allowing them to represent themselves as alters as well as allowing them to look back and know who sent a message. Though on the other hand you may not consider it accommodation because it isn't needed; systems can use sign offs without plural kit and often don't necessarily "need" it. So it really depends on how you look at it, but I will say that Aspen is wrong for mocking these people nonetheless; whatever their reasons are they clearly think of plural kit as an accommodation and are distressed at its removal. Should they demand it back? No, it's her server she can do what she wants, but do they have a right to be upset? Yes. When someone takes away something that may have been helping you in one way or another you are allowed to feel hurt or distressed, but this does not mean you should harass that person for it back.
"i feel like plural kit is too anti recovery"
I feel like a lot of people say anti recovery without actually understanding what it means.
Anti recovery's definition is "A movement consisting of those who oppose what they perceive as recovery from mental illness and/or neurodivergence." Which most people do know, but the more important part is what they consider to be recovery ;
"Recovery in this context does not mean a cure, it simply means coping/living with your illness/neurotype in a positive way."
Which would mean to be anti recovery you would be against anything that makes coping easier and anything positive, you would be convinced you have to suffer and refuse to make things easier.
By this definition plural kit is not anti recovery as it makes things easier for systems; being able to identify yourselves and being able to tell who said what can be important for multiple reasons and plural kit makes that easier, which is positive and not anti recovery.
Further more she claims it "promotes way too much separation between alters" which might be true but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. If you are in active healing and moving towards final fusion perhaps that would be an issue but for those striving for functional multiplicity this separation would not cause an issue
"Some individuals reach a point where all personalities have access to shared memories, set boundaries, and have common goals, making it easier to stabilize emotions and maintain healthy behavioral patterns. Individuals with functional multiplicity still experience the following:
At least two distinct personalities with accompanying unique behaviors
Personalities adapt to unite toward a common goal
All personalities prioritize recovery and treatment"
""the problem in MPD is not the intrusion of part selves as such, it is with the degree of amnesia, conflict, self-destruction, and dysfunction in the psyche. The problem is not the multiplicity, it is the degree of pathological dissociation. In MPD the part selves are personified to an abnormal degree. There is a big difference between someone with active classical MPD, and an individual with healthy multiplicity."" ((Though this did come from DR. Collin Ross, who is not a good person I still felt it might be important to add))
"Some systems choose to stop at what the ISST-D calls resolution, or what may also be called functional multiplicity. In this case, systems may retain any number of independently acting alters. The current rates of complete integration and functional multiplicity may be very similar. A 2017 study (Myrick et al.) followed up on 61 therapists about the well-being of specific patients of theirs after 6 years; 12.8% of therapists reported that their patients had terminated therapy due to achieving stable integration, and exactly the same percentage reported that their patients had terminated therapy due to resolution of symptoms without full integration."
Overall the separation between alters is not an issue, more so the amnesia and conflict, which can be solved in therapy, but even so; not everyone has to be actively working towards healing. For systems who are not in therapy / not actively healing there is no need for them to worry about whether they're "promoting too much separation between alters" because there's already separation and it's not getting better. for those who aren't healing it may just be easier or more comfortable to use plural kit and that's okay.
It is not anti recovery to not be healing, that's stupid, everyone heals on their own time; some systems may not have access to therapy and therefore are unable to safely work towards healing (which would involve going through trauma, which should be done with a therapist) and that is not anti recovery.
[ if any mistakes have been made please let us know and we will attempt to correct them ! Also if you wish for us to try do this with any other videos Aspen has made feel free to request it ! ]

Yes ^^^ we were asked this question quite a while ago and didn't answer it the best but this is basically what we think of it too. I know the word "system" is in the name but that doesn't mean this is a form of systemhood
hey uh, in your professional opinion.....
IFS / Internal Family Systems - legitimate systems/plural or ?
IFS is not a form of systemhood. It’s a type of therapy used to conceptualize the different parts that make up a single personality.
People are complicated. Singlets have different facets of their personality and different ways they react to things depending on the situation. And IFS is a really helpful way to conceptualize the different parts that make up a personality.
But having a complex multifaceted personality is not the same as being a system.
People seem to be under the impression that if they don’t have a flat, 2D, cardboard cutout personality, that they are plural, and that is just not true.
There is a massive difference between having a rich and complex self and being a system.

what resources did you use to learn about did outside of tiktok and tumblr? i mention it because it would be interesting to see your opinions on mainstream beliefs, not just social media, and your posts would have a broader appeal that way.
we learned about DID through actual research. We know more about DID than just Tumblr and tiktok, we only bring those up for the sake of correcting misinformation. We did not use those apps as "resources" to learn about it but rather to learn about peoples opinions on it
We don't know many mainstream beliefs about DID other than that it "doesn't exist" or is "simply schizophrenia". This is partially because we have incredibly bad social skills and therefore are not able to talk to people outside of a small friend group who are supportive and also because we don't have other socials in general

i mean, if you aren't reading what people outside of tumblr are saying about systemhood, then you should start there. it's good to get outside opinions, if only to strengthen your own convictions. then you'll have a better idea of what posts to write. :3
We do read outside of Tumblr and stuff, it's just hard to come across comprehensible content that isn't endo or drama related
((by outside of Tumblr I mean we often see stuff about systems on tiktok, we rarely ever use any other social medias))
But yeah, maybe we can find some misconceptions on other apps (mostly TikTok) and correct them. It might take a while to sort through the main junk though lol
Thank you for the suggestion by the way! It's appreciated!

i think you should focus on more generalized misinfo, or at least people with big platforms rather than intracommunity tumblr shit, because syscourse as a whole has really polarized people and it's difficult to see past the drama.
Maybe. We want to try but we don't have many ideas for it, if that makes sense? Like we don't know where to begin other than answering questions given to us

Update from the confused system wondering about OSDD 1b and DID. We have found out we're a DID system 😭 your response helped a lot (we thought we were OSDD 1b until we realized how we get memory loss, realized it was amnesia, etc) TYSM
oh, no problem ! We're happy to have helped and we're glad you managed to figure it out in the end ! ^_^

What do the system community terms mean exactly? And their differences? (like osdd-1b, etc) /genq -A system that's a little confused and trying to learn more (we believe we have OSDD-1B, but we might have amnesia which would make us DID right? But then we have a low split tolerance?? Help)
other specified dissocative disorder (or OSDD) is a diagnosis given when someone doesn't quite fit the criteria for a dissocative disorder diagnosis. the two OSDD's that are related to having parts / being a system are OSDD-1a and OSDD-1b
" Therapists may make this diagnosis when dissociative symptoms are causing distress and impairment, but do not meet the full criteria for another dissociative disorder "
" This category applies to presentations in which symptoms characteristic of a dissociative disorder that cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning predominate but do not meet the full criteria for any of the disorders in the dissociative disorders diagnostic class. The other specified dissociative disorder category is used in situations in which the clinician chooses to specify reason that the presentation does not meet the criteria for any specific dissociative disorder. This is done by recording "other specified dissociative disorder" followed by the specific reason (e.g., "dissociative trance") "
OSDD-1a refers to a system with less distinct parts / alters, there parts usually cannot take full control and usually use passive influnce
" OSDD example 1 is either identity disturbance with less distinct parts than in Dissociative Identity Disorder (they cannot physically take executive control over the person's body, but strongly influence the person's thoughts and actions and amnesia is present), known as DDNOS-1a "
OSDD-1b refers to a system with no amnesia between switches
"or distinct dissociative parts (alters or alternate identities) exist and can take executive control, but without amnesia, known as DDNOS-1b. "
i'd also like to add that having a low split tolerance is not exclusive to OSDD-1 but can occur in DID (since you seem to think its exclusive to OSDD??? or at least you think it means you can't have DID??)
