Awesome story! I haven’t been feeling good for the past couple of days, and I’ve been super busy and unable to update for a bit because school just started up.

Here’s the problem.

Literally the first day of school, the night after I got home: I tested positive for COVID

I am pissed

Because now I’m missing the entire first week of school

I mostly write and draw! Im writing a novel length fanfiction titled “The Falling of Universe Zero”, about a young creator who accidentally starts one of the biggest wars within the multiverse. Big oopsies! Lmao

I have four books ahead of me: (writing the first one, PARADOX, then BREACH, FIREWALL, and RESTART). I also have a miniseries titled The Secrets of the Multiverse, and I plan to start writing another book in the same universe, in the POV of the main character’s brother :DD

I’ll go first: my favorite has always been Ink for some reason, ever since I learned about UTMV. Fell in love with his character type in Underverse, and he’s a really big character in TFOUZ. Some honorable mentions are Error, Dream, Cross, and Swap (they have no relation to eachother I just happen to like them lol)

This is about The Falling of Universe Zero! This is sort of a long read, so get ready

So I’ve actually been planning TFOUZ for about two years now- I only just started writing it for real a couple months ago. The idea behind the concept came much before the planning. The main inspiration? Ask blogs.

When I was still a wee little 12 year old watching the silly little UTMV ask blogs, I liked the idea of the people asking the questions actually interacting with the characters. At the time I never knew that “breaking the fourth wall” would be my absolute all time favorite trope.

When I started getting into writing, I was inspired by many fan fictions. And though I read through quite a lot, and enjoyed them: fan fictions at the time seemed to be solely revolving around X readers, which honestly was never my cup of tea. I wanted to make something interesting, something dramatic- thus came the idea for TFOUZ.

TFOUZ follows the main POV of a young UTMV creator. The story revolves around the idea that “everything that’s created, everything that made it’s way into the doodlesphere, becomes a canon somewhere in the multiverse”. Think about it: a lot of the creations within this fandom are adopted as canon (think the most popular AUs: Underswap, Underfell, the list continues) by almost everybody in the fandom.

At the time I started developing this idea, there were a lot of self insert stories- and it did start as a self insert to be honest. After a little bit, I fell out of that, because I found it to be a little bit cringe. (When I look back on that take now, I kind of mentally punch myself in the face: cringe culture is dead, the only people who should truly be considered cringe are the ones calling YOUR ART cringe) even though the self insert thing isn’t really my thing, I still wanted to keep the idea of having a creator as a character. And then, Cameron was born.

She’s kind of the embodiment of a 2016 Undertale fan. Fanfiction writer, fanartist, all 9 yards. Because of the events in her story, breaking the fourth wall- bringing the creator’s world into the story itself- it weakened the barrier between Universe Zero and the Multiverse.

The paradox goes as follows: though Universe Zero is securely blocked from the Multiverse, there is still one open connection: through the Doodlesphere. That’s where the flow of data comes through, thats how creations become- well- creations. This entryway is very secured, but because Cameron wrote about the Creator’s World interfering with the Multiverse, it weakened the security and- sort of tore the entryway open further than it already was.

Now at this point, I might be going into more detail than you asked, but I don’t think there’s harm in that right?

Onto characters.

I had a LOT of help from @cas-brightblade , my best friend and internet sibling on this front. A lot of the canon characters that are in TFOUZ are heavily inspired by Underverse- especially Ink. Character development is a lot easier with two or more people, because- characters are complicated. And I can’t go into too much depth with how I handle them, because that’s a lot of major spoilers, but I do a lot of research on character archetypes and tropes that people like. For example, Cameron is extremely phobic of ghosts, but her mother is a very well-known exorcist: that’s what I like to call comedic contradictions (idk if there’s an actual name for it).

I think I’m going to stop there because this has gone on longer than I thought it would. I hope I answered your question thoroughly! If I didn’t, PLEASE ask me more!! I love answering these types of inquiries, it fills me with so much joy ☺️

Guys, if you write your own fanfic/comic/story/novel/etc., how did you start? Well, that is, how did you think through the lore, characters, plot, world setting, etc.?

I just can’t imagine how much work and time you put into this, but still, if you were able to do it, then you’re really cool and I hope your efforts are appreciated :P

I’m aware visibility on this platform is rough, but it feels wrong to keep posting stuff about this fic without addressing the Jakei situation.

For the longest of time, Underverse has sustained this entire fandom upon its back. And for a lot of people, including myself, it introduced us to the world of Undertale and the Multiverse. Underverse was my biggest inspiration to begin writing TFOUZ.

Underverse is the catalyst to hundreds of thousands of people’s most influential times in their lives. The UTMV fandom is where I grew into who I am today. Underverse threw me into this delightfully chaotic experience, one I never thought would end. One I hoped would never end.

And now, possibly the largest beacon within this fandom is subject to be knocked down and shattered by yet another group of sad individuals who have nothing else to do with their lives.

Today on the internet, we can’t have anything good. People always find reasons to be nasty, hateful, and ruin every little thing we have. Not only have these people destroyed a beautiful thing, but they’ve dragged down one of the most important people to this fandom. How does it feel to be the reason you made this creator give up? This event is going to shake the entire community, whether Jakei decides to quit or not.

On the topic of her quitting, my heart goes out to her. Mental health will ALWAYS be more important than an animated series. Whatever she needs, I pray the people of this fandom don’t blast her even more. She has done so much for this community, and no matter what happens, we’ll always be on her side.

We can survive, UTMV fandom. We’ve done it for nearly ten years (or longer, not quite sure!), even if 6 of those years we had Underverse. I saw a post earlier that said something along the lines of “Ink wouldn’t want us to quit making art” (def not verbatim), and I can’t express how true that is. This is not how we are supposed to be. We are not supposed to be worrying about the future of our fandom. To all of you out there who are thinking about quitting, who are thinking about giving up, leaving this experience behind them: please don’t. This is our happy place. We can thrive. Supporting eachother is the best thing we can do here.

And to anybody who may have contributed to the harassment, the shitstorm that has been this situation: I give you a big, giant, massive, gleaming FUCK YOU.

You have ruined something so precious. You have torn down a part of internet history that will never be forgotten. You will never be considered a part of this fandom. I hope somewhere along the way, you find happiness. I hope you find a life. I hope you find your place on the internet. Because right now, you have none of those things.

With that aside, I don’t care how many views this post gets- I needed to get this out there. I needed it to be known where I stand, I needed to give my condolences. Honestly, a part of me wanted to ignore everything that’s happening, because the UTMV fandom is my happy place. The first fandom I ever joined. The most chaotic, too. And I would never have changed this for the world. I didn’t want to believe that this could be the end of the best era in my life.

But, we’ll be okay. Stay strong, and keep creating art. Most of all: support Jakei, no matter what she decides to do. We’re on your side.
