I didn't register this fact the first time I read the novels and from the fact that Ive never seen anyone talk about it I don't think anyone else did either.

now, there is a possibility that while wei wuxian lost control some of the fierce corpses attacked the surviving wens, but I don't think that's the case with granny. She probably would have been hiding somewhere. However brave she was I don't think the others would have allowed her to fight. That means that whatever killed her had to find her, and fierce corpses aren't very good at critical thinking like that. And so, my conclusion that the cultivators that sieged the burial mounds were volatile and bludgeoned an old woman to death.

Also, it's described that most of the wen remnants were elderly. so, even if it was a rogue walking corpse that did granny wen in, the cultivators had to have killed other innocent old men and women.

For me, I've always seen it as he could mend the flesh together, but after Asklepios, when Apollo noticed any children with extraordinary healing if they ever tried to heal the dead with their powers the healing would feel so much different and make them nauseous + they can only restore the flesh.

For example, Will's healing is normally said to be warmth, but when restoring dead flesh, it's scalding heat to him, and he is forced to feel the cells move with his power without a soul/life force in the body. I also think that the scalding heat causes burns on his hands and, depending on how long or how much power he used, his arms as well. Simply because Apollo refuses to have another case of Asklepios.

Sometimes I think about 10 yr old Will Solace taking care of Lee when his older brother was sick with the help of his other siblings. Will placing his hands on Lee's head about to ease the pain of a migraine before Michael tells him off for it, and telling him about them still needing to heal from sickness like mortals.

Then a year later after the Battle of the Labyrinth, Will has his hands on Lee's head desperately trying to convince himself his older brother can be saved - that he's doing more than just healing dead flesh despite the sickening feeling his healing is causing in place of the usual warmth.
