Hi, I’m assuming that Kiki mentioned me already. Any chance any of you know where he went? I don’t want to spend more time down here than I have to.

“The notice said he was seen around the great crater, I really hope I just missed him earlier and he’s not actually in here… That Pokémon is still following me too…

Wait is that? Kiki’s phone!”

“Where is Kiki then? He better not have gotten hurt from whatever caused these crystals.”

“Pecha plants grow fast here!” Runt placed another large Pecha berry in the basket Pecha held

“You can say that again, it’s only been a couple weeks and they’re already as big as the ones we planted in Kitakami!”

“I hope the ones there are doing that well!”

“We can ask Berry and Pompom when they get back,” Pecha grabs a berry out of the basket and takes a bite, “we’ve got a lot so I think we’re good for now, let’s head back.”

They don’t get more than five steps away when the ground begins to shake around them.

“Woah, didn’t realize this area got earthquakes!” Pecha quickly moved to be further away from the chasm leading to the deeper areas of area zero. Runt nervously floating between him and the hole.

“Are you ok? I don’t want you to-” A large crystal shoots out of the ground, almost hitting the small pecharunt, “AH!”

“Runt, fly up higher so you don’t get hit!” More crystals shoot out of the ground all around the crater, some causing no harm, others hitting Pokémon or plants.

“Is this supposed to happen?!”

“Don’t think so, it would’ve happened before this,” A slither wing nearby tries to shatter a crystal trapping an iron bundle.

The crystal doesn’t crack.

“and it doesn’t look like it has!”

“What do we do?!”

More crystals erupt from the ground.

“I- uh, I think we need help…” Pecha yanks off his bag, “Runt I need you to get the others, take my bag so no one else can get hurt!”

“I don’t wanna leave you here!”

“Runt you need to trust me, I’ll be fine! Take my bag and run!”

Pecha tosses his small bag to Runt.

“Please Runt, I can keep myself safe for a bit. I’ll find a safe place, but I wouldn’t be able to get out anyways!”

Runt hesitates for a moment before calling out, tears in their eyes, before flying out yelling “you better stay safe!”

“Good, now they can’t get hurt,” crystals continue to shoot up around him, “hope this goes fast…”

Taking some mochi out of his pocket, he quickly eats it and starts running to a safer area, not noticing his phone dropping to the ground.

“We’re actually about to head out to check back in with them so they don’t wonder where we are, we’re going to grab more pecha berries and antidotes for him while we’re out”

“Make sure you stay safe while we’re gone, ok?”

“Don’t worry, I’ll make sure everything stays fine”

Why DID you all go back to area zero?

“Do you want to answer, or do I say it for you?”

“They already know this much… I’ll say it… I came here because I figured it’d be a place where sis and the others wouldn’t check. I didn’t want them to see Runt until I at least got the scales figured out”

“Honestly, following Pecha here was the first time Berry and I had ever been to area zero. I’ve seen great tusk before because Florian has one”

“Blaze only had the Iron things, I’m still trying to remember most of the Pokémon names…”

“Juliana had both sets of Pokémon, right?”

“Yep. It was a weird trip when I went down the first time, but I got Juli to tell me a lot about the Pokémon here when we left”

What he say he wants is for Cheri and his friends to not learn about everything involving Runt and the loyal three until they figure out how to handle what’s going on.

What he actually wants is to make his own decisions without people questioning if it’s actually his own choice, which he “knows they would”.

They aren’t avoiding anyone right now but if they were, they’d just shut their shell as hard as they could and hope the other person left them alone or didn’t see them (Runt is only 8 inches so they might not be noticed depending on the room)

All the different types of bread

He gets white bread vs wheat bread and the big change in what they are, but if you ask him if he prefers whole wheat or whole grain you will get the verbal wrath of a Berry who is fed up with all the different types that exist.

He hates it when it’s pointed out, but he copies his sisters mannerisms when he gets angry.

Most of his moves he uses like pokemon in either Kitakami or the terrarium too (ex: he uses ivy cudgel like a corphish uses crabhammer)

If you get pompom started, he will talk about crystal carving for hours (off camera pompom had ranted to Berry for a long while after the hobbies question)

Berry doesn’t bring it up unless someone else does first but he will tell people about “proper food presentation” any time he sees them cook, no one is safe

Runt doesn’t usually talk to people other than their loyal three and Pecha but they recently started learning about plants and will share SO many berry plant facts if given an opportunity.

He’s been holding back for a while now, but Pecha can and will discuss everything battle strategies. You can not escape it forever
