Been reading about the history of Quinta Da Regaleira for an assassin’s creed story I am writing. I have to say its relation to the Templar Knight’s Order is very interesting!
This is the first time I post something I’m not completely happy with but there’s always tomorrow to try again✨

There's something I realised while playing Dark Souls in New Game Plus. It's recommended that I play as reversely hollowed but risk losing humanity to enemies. This encourages me to hold on to it and keep trying to keep my humanity and stay human and alive.
"Don't You Dare Go Hollow" hits way harder now that I realise this

I understand completely now
I know all too well what it's like to be driven by fear. It makes you behave and think irrationally and it puts you in even more danger, despite you thinking you are protecting yourself.
This is exactly where Lord of Cinder Gwyn's mind was when resisting the Age of Man.
He sacrificed himself to the flame as a desperate attempt to stay alive. He burnt himself and in turn burnt the entire world with him - all in the name of fear. Maybe he is afraid of his own insignificance in the grand scheme of things, of disappearing into darkness, of the consuming embrace of death, afraid of being forgotten through time.
That is why he is still pathetically fighting the player - a last desperate attempt to emit a fiery scream to be remembered in a dying world.

A question I'm asking myself while playing Dark Souls 1 Remastered
I'm in the halfway point of Dark Souls, exploring Lost Izalith, and I'm keeping the lore as vague as possible while googling mostly about items and combat tips
A question I keep asking myself is:
Why is Lord Gwyn's theme so sad?
So far Lord Gwyn seems like an obsessed power-hungry conqueror, who banishes lesser and weaker Chosen Undead because of a prophecy he's threatened by. This same lord built the grand capital city of Anor Londo to show his power and lineage, while all the other locations pale in comparison to it which further emphasises the disparity between the people governed and the Gwyn Dynasty.
Why am I expected to feel sorry for Lord Gwyn?

I’m playing Dark Souls 1 for the first time
As someone who’s played a little bit of Dark Souls 3 first I perceive this game very differently. In Dark Souls 3 the world is DEAD but in Dark Souls 1 the world is DYING - there’s still signs of life in it and I find that interesting

I played Silent Hill 2 Remake for the First Time

For context: I played the original game 4 years ago and got the Leave Ending
Here are my thoughts:
I love that throughout the game you see references, from notes and the instances of seeing places from the original game, to a time loop, that james has been in silent hill for a much longer time than in the original
I absolutely love that characters have been given more depth, Angela has been given more scenes that add depth to her traumatised personality, especially the scene by the garden. I love that in the end James refuses to give her the knife back. Eddie gives off much more of a bitter yet pathetic personality this time around. I would describe Laura as a “sweet brat”!
I LOVE THE SUBTLY IN MARIA’S ACTING - save for the scene in the labyrinth. I feel like she needed to be less subtle and more tormenting there
The boss fights in the end are way more terrifying and have you on edge
I’m annoyed that I got the “In Water”. I thought I played things similarly to how I did in the original
In every environment and level in the game there are lots of details in terms of object placements and furniture. It’s the same feeling of detail from the original but multiplied by 10. Same thing goes for the music.
The feeling of dread at what you don’t see and what might be a strange noise is a lot more pronounced. I procrastinated playing the game a few times!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HOW THE FACT THAT MARY WAS MARIA GAVE HER BOSS FIGHT SO MUCH MEANING AS TO THIS BEING SILENT HILL TRYING TO TRAP JAMES EVEN MORE. HER BOSS FIGHT FELT SO MEANINGLESS IN THE ORIGINAL. I ALSO CANT GET OVER THAT HUG

James Sunderland’s views on women is narrow. He split his wife into two personalities: chaste modest Mary who he is “supposed” to like who never says anything wrong, and Maria, assigned girlfriend, who is everything he wants and is fine with being argumentative and playful. In this essay I will
