Overlay mask - apple & poppies Link in bio This technique is used as a projected layer over an image. In visual art, overlay adds on to surfaces, creating a collage. Lami De Artisan drew the outline in the centre is of a hand drawn apple fruit, to mask over an image of poppies. She used the shape of the apple to draw the eyes to the image. Visually, the cut out frames the image, so we observe the poppies as 'within' the apple. She added lines indicating light and dark area of the apple. The saturation is richness and intensity of a colour's appearance. Lightening the colour makes it less intense. Tip- Add the complementing color i.e. Orange to blue to distinguish hues. Darker hues, make it more saturated. The strength of the orange makes it more vivid. An intense saturation of orange Over the blue grey values.
