I've been meaning to draw some actual Blue Lock fanart for awhile. Just took me a bit to get around to it... and actually finish.

While I favored Chigiri from my first watch, I didn't really think too much about Kunigami and their relationship. Wasn't until I was buying some keychains at a con last year and was asked if I'd consider buying Chigiri's boyfriend that I thought about them more during a second watch. And then they just rotted in my brain even more once I started reading the manga.

So, yeah, decided these two would make a nice finished Blue Lock piece. And hopefully I'll get around to drawing some more in the future.

Also probably should get back to reading the manga and trying to catch up. Think I stopped at like chapter 160? So. Yeah. Spoilers are hard to avoid.

Side note, when I originally decided to watch Blue Lock I didn't know really what it was about. I thought it was just gonna be some innocent soccer anime. I was wrong, but I have no regrets.

EmblemCon is coming up, and I'll be participating in their Creatives Corridor this year.

Looking forward to seeing everything offered and just having a fun few Fire Emblem filled days.

I feel like I've been neglecting my original characters the last couple years. And while I've enjoyed getting back into fanart, I also kind of miss drawing my silly guys.

So, here's Pepper and Lucian. I've yet to finalize their designs, but this is a scene where they're out of their normal clothes.

When I finished this I felt some Cinderella vibes. Dunno if that's just me. But Lucian is no prince, and Pepper, well, he actually does have ties to the royal family. Even if he severed them.

Also, my tablet's screen has the colors off and so does my laptop, so I'm kind of in this state where I'm never sure if my colors look right. So hopefully nothing looks too off.

Always a fun time getting to put Forrest in different outfits. Though I kind of wish he had some more official outfits to work from.

Mimikyu is my favorite Pokemon and one of the few I can actually draw.

Just was kinda having fun with this one. Maybe I'll try drawing more Pokemon in the future? Maybe more from Sun and Moon since I liked a lot of Pokemon that came from those games.

I haven't watched the anime in a very long time, but I think about watching the episodes that have Grusha in them currently. Just because I favor him so much and want to see how much was added to his character.

Rantaro Amani

I don't get around to drawing much for Danganronpa since I tend to jump around with the series and such I draw for. But I really enjoy Rantaro and sort of was drawn to him from the beginning. He basically lives rent free in the back of my and likes to remind me he's still there every so often.

Aelah and Castor

I had these two on my mind for awhile now, so I thought I could draw some art of them. Took a bit longer than expected since this was originally planned as Valentine's Day art. Tried my best with giving it a full background.

I'm sure Castor called Aelah his beloved prior to reaching for a small kiss on the forehead. I adore these two princes so much.

Commission of Miwan and Zelgadis from Slayers.

Zelgadis is in his outfit from Fantasia Re:Build, and I designed Miwan's to sort of match with references to his anime outfit.

I enjoy whenever I get to draw these two. While I'm unfamiliar with the anime, they're designs are fun to draw and I especially like Zelgadis.

Alcryst from Fire Emblem Engage

Drawn for @nagamas as my final Secret Santa.

Always a fan of getting to draw or work with Alcryst, so this was a fun draw. I had broken down Alcryst's outfit back in 2023 when working on my cosplay of him, so that came in handy when trying to get some of the details and armor correct.

I had also written a short fanfic of sorts to go along with the art. Can be read below.

I am Alcryst... the prince of Brodia who isn't Diamant.

The prince who couldn't save his father.

The prince who is nothing but a burden.

The prince who just wants to protect the ones I find precious... the ones I love.

It's often I think back to that day when Father was taken from us. The Corrupt form he took. The brave face I put on. For Diamant, I wanted to strike down father. With this bow and arrow, I would shoulder the burden. The pain. Because Diamant didn't deserve to have to live with it. But, like always, I fell short. I couldn't protect anyone. Because I'm also a burden sitting on the shoulders of those around me. I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry. I just wanted to be better. Stronger. Useful. Anything. And yet again I relied on Diamant. The burden I wanted to carry for him, he instead took it himself with the sword he held and used to free Father of the painful state he was left in.

“Strong of body. Strong of heart.”

This burden... it should have been mine and mine alone. Not a scar we share.

“Strong of body. Strong of heart.”

Even if I screamed, Father can no longer hear me. All the words I left unsaid. I wanted to give him reasons to be proud. It's so loud in my head with these never ending thoughts. All these regrets. Father, what more could I have done? For you... for Diamant.

To be less of a burden.

To be a better prince.

A better son.

A better brother.

A better version of myself.

Maybe one day when my body leaves this world I can be remembered as someone who could overcome the worthlessness he feels. Become someone both Father and Diamant can be proud of. And be worthy of standing next to all of them that shine so bright.

With this bow and arrow. With this will and determination. With the warmth of the love I can still feel Father wrapping me in. I will be strong. I will grow. And I'll no longer be a burden.

“Strong of body. Strong of heart.”

Maybe not today or tomorrow, but I will stand tall. I will become the prince of Brodia that I so desperately wish I could be. For now, let me waver. Let me mourn. Until there is no doubts left in me. Only then will I be worthy of saying with confidence: I am Alcryst, prince of Brodia. Strong of body. Strong of heart.

Tales of the Abyss art seems like a fitting first post of the year.

December and into the beginning of January has all been time spent working on Secret Santa art. So hopefully once I've finished my last one I'll be able to get back to a faster pace and not sort of just disappear for a month. Regardless, I always have a good time with these sort of things.

Tsubasa is such a pretty character, so I always enjoy being able to draw him. Got to challenge myself a little bit with drawing roses, but I'm sure it'll be a good skill to have in the future.
