Taking Our Leave

The onceler fandom did a lot of things for me that were positive but after so long, only two people really stuck and both of them have left the fandom as much as I have.

There's too many bad memories and bad people here that I'm reminded of. But thank you very much to everyone who did let me enjoy this character when I did even though I do get quite embarrassed that he existed sometimes. But he did do a lot for me. If not for this askblog I wouldn't have started the relationship I have with my best friend.

Again, thanks for sticking around when people did. I know this is a late goodbye message. Very late really heh...

And Soft does have a deoncelerized character based from him, oliveradavies. I will work on Oliver at some point soon but for now I'm busy with some offline things.

Hello there! I'm sorry if I'm bothering you. I was just wondering if i could possibly get some footage of you for a documentary?

"That sounds perfect to me." He grinned. "Mm, well wherever you would like. You're not one for the huge fancy places, if I remember correctly..." He chuckled. "I should probably leave you to your work. I'll see you then, dear?"

“Right, of course. How silly of me.” she smiled back, lightly running her finger along his hand holding hers. “I have next weekend off. You can pick me up on Saturday if you want. Where are we going?”

His face lit up bright red, his usual flustered attitude obviously the same as ever. But he smiled along with it and waltzed over to her, taking her hand and placing a small kiss on her cheek.

"I never said dating my dear~. Just seeing one another as friends, but obviously your mind is a little elsewhere."

He winked at her, trying to show he was still the same man. Sure his appearance changed and the way he spoke was a bit more proper, but he was still Soft. He wasn't going to be consumed by greed... He'd seen what it had done to other Once-lers. One of which being his best friend of all people...

"We have some catching up to do though. Can we schedule a date of some sort?"

She finally looked at him, glancing him up and down. The new suit, the glasses, just like Bratty and Split and Twice. He didn’t have the hat yet, at least. Even his hair was combed and slicked back like that of a pro, not like the messy mop she was used to seeing when he’d sing her songs on his guitar. She wondered if he still even had it. He looked like a completely different person. But those very memories, like the ones with the guitar and shy stolen kisses, couldn’t be dismissed. Maybe that man was still in there somewhere, underneath the Prada and the shades. “I’ll think about it,” she replies. “It might not look good if I start dating the competition.” She gave him a tiny smirk to show that she was teasing, and that she was leaning more toward a yes than a no.

Soft frows and looks at the ground. He wasn't good at reading her in most cases but in this one it was obvious how she felt. He'd... kind of screwed up.

"Th-thank you. And.. Really I'm sorry for not getting a hold of you... I tried sending a letter but it never got in the mail.. And once my family arrived I couldn't afford to--"

He sighs shakily and clears his throat. Excuses, excuses...

"You.. get what I mean I assume. But a-ah, now that I'm back we can see each other again, yes?" A smile lights his face up.

She stacks the papers together, clinging them to her chest as she walks past him to the fax machine. “Well, good, I’m glad. Congrats on your business.” She doesn’t look at him as she sets the numbers on the machine. She was hurt. Not just because he left. She could’ve gotten over that. People leave all the time, and it’s not like they’d been officially dating. But now she finds out that what was so important that he couldn’t even say goodbye to her was all his business. Of course it was. And here she’d been thinking he was different than other Oncelers. She swallowed down the lump forming in her throat.

He sighs and stands up a bit straighter. "I know. And... I'm really sorry... It wasn't smart of me. I thought about you a lot though." He offers a smile, hoping it will provide some sort of relief. "I'm not going anywhere now though."

She sits and listens, blinking a few times when he moved so close. She probably would’ve kissed him on normal circumstances. “Yeah, I did actually,” she mumbled. She turned back toward her papers. “I didn’t think I was gonna see you again. You didn’t even say goodbye…”

Hey there everyone! Been a while! I'm sorry for my absence! With business up and running so well, I needed to take some time to work. But I believe everything is under control enough so I can return here!

Hey guys sorry I never made an official post but this blog is now inactive.

I never really have the motivation to run Soft as a Onceler anymore so I stopped logging on. I may come back or I may not, but honestly it may not be until summer that I do.

I am active on this blog, Soft's high school AU which is deoncelerized.

Also my personal, here.

Thanks for the time here, and I may come back at some point. Just not for now.
