Female black widows can live up to 3 years but their male counterparts rarely live four months. Some tarantulas live upwards of 20 years. The longest lived spider was around 43 years old when she was cruelly assassinated by a parasitic wasp. Domestic rats have a lifespan comparable to female black widows. To put things into perspective, there are spiders that remember a pre-pandemic world but it is likely every rat on earth was born post-COVID. There could be a spider out there born when Reagan was in office.

want to clarify that the post i rbed earlier about disliking fanon, what i have in mind isn't people making weird or hyperspecific alternate universes or anything - at least, that's personal. what i really dislike is going into the tags for something i like and knowing i'll find the same three jokes and incorrect quotes that have been used for every other fandom since the dawn of time, that's what i don't like. i would rather read an opinion of a character that i think is straight up wrong but is at least an honest expression of someone's thoughts, than the same memes i've seen thousands of times and that barely fit the character at all... and i also think jokes are too often used to not have to say anything sincere. it's embarrassing to like something earnestly but we can do it, we're strong enough, we don't need tired memes

I have to force myself to care about people sometimes. Not because I see other people as less valuable than me or that I don't particularly like them (thought I tend to dislike a lot of people I meet because they're mean), it's because due to the way I experience the world as a visually impaired autistic adult, I gotta look out for number one or else I could actually get seriously hurt or end up in a really shitty situation either by myself or with someone else because I wasn't thinking about it or didn't pick up on it and I gotta stay hyper vigilant.

So I'm sorry if it looks like I don't care. 80% of the time it's because I'm trying to perceive the world. The other 20% is reserved for dumb people.

i know movies think its badass when characters calmly accept their death but im so tired of it. like yeah depending on the context of the death it can work but sometimes i wanna see the wise mentor figure panicked and fearful for the first time. i want it to be clear that everyone involved tried so fucking hard to save them, including themselves, and it still wasnt enough. give! me!
