So I have finally sat down to plan my revision/study for the first 4 units. I wanted a system to learn and remember the information in lessons especially as we on the new topic now, don’t want to forget about the first topics. Once I get my plan finalised I will do a detailed post on it.

Okay, I’m sorry but I just feel so restless about the bushfires, I made a mini-comic. Maybe it will get a few more people to donate. I wish I could do more. Please see http://wires.org.au if you want to help. :(

So I have embarked on studying for my NVQ. I am going to type up all my notes as a form of studying and a way to save my notes in another form just in case I lose my notebook or damage it, As you can see flow charts are my conundrum easier to draw out in ink and paper but rather difficult on Microsoft Word.
I do need flowcharts and mind maps as I type up my notes so any advice would be helpful.

A photo of myself before I decide on my theme on my blog and start posting properly. Quite obsessed with blush usually Storm Cloudpaint by Glossier, recently discovered I can wear yellow and actually have a lot more confidence than I knew I had.
A little background and thoughts concerning my studies and why I am doing what I am doing. So I have started a NVQ (in the principles of Horticulture) this academic year. I spent the last 3 years working in hospitality/catering, before that I was at college (I tried to retake my GCSES but that’s a story for another post) and before that desperate year I was at secondary school.
So I have always been a bit lost, unsure and ever-changing when it comes to my career, which is a big thing in my life and always on my mind. Ever-changing in ideas such as a biochemist, ballerina, figure skater, forensic scientist, author, historian, make up artist or fashion designer which meant I was constantly thinking up plans and paths to take or pursue different courses. This lead to me being lost as I felt I had no direction in terms of something that consistently held my interest and also motivated me to pursue it further or in other directions.
Then a random conversation with my other half brought up the idea of a Horticulture course i seem to remember that he sent me a link or too after I supported his suggestion, this lead me to the RHS Qualifications website. And this was the spark that found my path I needed to follow as cheesy as it sounds.
I will talk more in detail about why I ended up doing an NVQ rather than other courses such as a degree etc in a different post, I would love to answer any questions about my course and my blog on here.

Another introductory post is my very aesthetic desk set up at home, currently at my boyfriends so just use his bed as a desk obviously very professional.
All my books related to plants are found on this desk for easy access. What you can’t see sadly is my Alocasia ‘Black Velvet’ who I haved named Alannah Myles after the song.

Well hello there, welcome to my botany studyblr. I’ll go ahead and introduce myself; my name is Mia and I am a 20 year old from England. I am currently studying for a Level 2 NVQ in the Principles of Horticulture and work part time (kind of) at a cafe. I love sweet foods, collecting books and have a weakness for vanilla lattes.
This particular photo is of my study planner (currently only lightly used as not started revision just yet) my welcome letter and my exam spec, all 50 pages. In the background is my Swiss Cheese plant. If anyone knows how I can access italics on tumblr posts that would be handy for my Binomial Nomenclature.
