i see a lot of neurodivergent people talk about how they can't handle bright white overhead lighting at home, so their preference is to have warm/yellow bulbs in lamps as the main source of household lighting, often with colouful neon lights/fairylights/candles as other secondary lighting sources. I feel like this is actually more common than we think but maybe there are some insane people who love or at least are indifferent to bright white overhead lighting. so poll time.
if you say bright white overhead lighting is your main lighting preference please tell me why

what they don't tell you about making friends is you gotta be a lil annoying. you gotta push past the fear of "what if they don't want to talk to me" and simply ask someone how their day is going, send a meme. you cannot connect to people if you're both just awkwardly waiting for the other to start.

here's your regular reminder that if you consistently, regularly get headaches, you are almost certainly having migraines, not regular headaches.
MOST recurrent headaches are migraine headaches.
"migraine" does not mean "extremely painful headache." it is a type and source of pain, not a degree of pain. migraines can also include some or all of the following: fatigue, sensitivity to light and sound, visual auras, nausea or vomiting, dizziness, cognitive impairment, etc. these symptoms can be mild or severe and it may actually be difficult to determine if you have them. (who wants a bright light in their eyes during a headache?? i thought that's just how headaches were lmao.)
this is important because while aspirin, NSAIDs like ibuprofren, and other over-the-counter pain meds can effectively alleviate migraine pain, getting diagnosed with migraines allows for a wider range of treatments and preventatives.
it's also important because, in my opinion, your average general practice doctor is not equipped to diagnose you with chronic migraine. don't go to one expecting them to. a neurologist with migraine specialty is a better option, although a regular doctor can still be useful if they listen to you lol.
my life would be miserable and unmanageable without sumatriptan. and i never would have gotten a prescription for sumatriptan if i hadn't gone to my GP and said, "i have migraines and want to try migraine medicine," even though at the time i wasn't 100% sure that was true.
if you have chronic headaches, they're almost certainly migraines. if no one has said that to you before, let me be the first. start treating your migraines.

yo hey US people who sent in absentee ballots, they are tossing mail-in ballots for no reason. i just had to call my county board of elections and demand a cure for my ballot because north carolina didn't send out any notices of issues with ballots, and the issues are fake. if you voted by mail-in make sure your ballot was actually counted

Nearly 14,000 mail ballots in Nevada have signature issues
Officials urge residents to use online tool to check if ballot was accepted
The total number of ballots — 13,906 — needing curing include 6,383 from registered nonpartisan or other voters, 4,026 from Democrats and 3,497 from Republicans.
The deadline for voters to cure their ballots is 5 p.m. Nov. 12, officials said. Ballots can be cured here.
The main issue they're having with young voters is that Nevada allows for voter registration through the Department of Motor Vehicles, and the "signatures" are digital (the licensee types it into a form), so their hand-written signatures on their ballots don't match the KEYSTROKES that serve as signatures on their license.
It would be hilarious if it weren't so fucking infuriating.

hey guys, I got some bad news... my dog has cancer.
our family dog, Bonnie. he's a 3yo belgian shepherd, the vet said the surgery will cost about 200$ (750₪), which is much better than the original price we got that was 540$ (2000₪), but the surgery might not be the end of it. my parents are already financially struggling and wouldn't have the money to treat themselves if they had cancer, so it's really hard for them to treat a pet.
I'm taking money out of my savings account to pay for the surgery, so he's not going to die just yet, but that savings account is for my future education and I'm getting paid less than minimum wage, this is not money I'm supposed to touch.
I feel really shitty saying this, but I opened a ko-fi, if you're feeling generous and want to help out, I'd appreciate donating even a single dollar.
I'm thinking of starting commissions, but I have a full time job and I've never done any before. Idk if I'll be able to do them right. I already have an "emergency commissions" post saver in my drafts in case I do.
here's some pictures of Bonnie, he's such a sweetheart. he always has a ball in his mouth, it's like a pacifier. he will beg you to throw his ball for him for hours and he will never get tired of running after it.

please don't donate if you can't support yourself financially, I mean it. I don't want your money if you're struggling yourself. I'm obviously making this post because I need help for him (if the surgery did cost 540$ I'd be toast, that's almost half my savings from the past year and a half), but if you're already struggling yourself then you shouldn't feel pressured to help others.
