Posted this on that weird bird app but honestly it deserves to be posted (and elaborated on) here
I'm rewatching NuWho season 3, and while Martha deserved better in a lot of ways, I think the biggest crime was pushing a subpar romance subplot the season immediately after Rose left. Like, the complicated and tragic love between Rose and the doctor was done so well, and then the literal next season, they introduce a whole new, way worse romance story.
And like, they BOMBARD you with it. They barely give Martha the chance to have a personality outside of her unrequited love for the doctor. It makes you dislike Martha for being so forward and whiny about it, which sucks because in the moments when she's not pining over a man who's actively grieving, Martha is such a fun character. She's an amazing companion but it gets covered up with this poorly written b-story about Martha trying to stack up against Rose mfing Tyler, who's probably in the top 5 best companions in the show's history.
So much of season 3 is about Martha being compared unfavorably to Rose, and it's unbearable.

I was born just a little too late to be an emo teenager in the mid-2000s and honestly I'll never forgive the universe for that

I think everyone should do themselves a favor and play this game. Beautiful visuals, a fun story to be unraveled, and overall one of the most charming gaming experiences you'll ever have. Super worth your time!!!!
Irredeamable is out!
Tumblr media
Trailer Music: Destiny by Alexandr Zhelanov https://www.youtube.com/c/AlexandrZhelanovsMusic

About Irredeamable
Irredeamable is my latest project, a semi-linear action-adventure game, where you control this little bundle of anger and angst in her quest to recover her lost powers and bring forth the end of the world.
Join Irredeamable Gamejolt community here! Follow me on twitter here!
The game has a heavy emphasis on combat, with a bit of platforming, and a whole lot of boss fights. There is also some mysterious lore to be uncovered by those willing to brave the world's deepest, darkest depths. My main goal with this account is to spread awareness of the game as i work on it. I'll post threads about the game content, characters, and world, with occasional distractions such as my unhinged game design thoughts and ideas. Don`t hesitate to share thoughts and engage, i love nothing more than to talk about writing and game design.

The fact that we were only like 50 seats away from Liberal Democrats getting more seats than Conservatives is crazy. UK, give me Lib Dems as leader of Opposition next general election and my life is yours

I genuinely do not understand how anyone can hate The Acolyte. Like, normally I can pretty safely be like "oh chronically online star wars 'fans' hate something because they're crazy/bigots/just plain wrong" or "oh this is actually just not very good" but The Acolyte is probably the most normal piece of Star Wars media of the past decade. Like, completely typical, not terrible but not groundbreaking, Star Wars. It's just a good show and people hate having fun.

Moon Knight and Echo are the best things to come out of the MCU in literal years, and it's because it's not just about superheroes/villains, it's about people. Viscerally honest stories about people and humanity.
It feels like so much superhero media is the same concepts and visual aesthetics repeated to death, occasionally hinting at boringly centrist and non-controversial social commentary. Moon Knight and Echo stand out because as much as they're about badass action, they're about core human experiences and universal emotions.
Even if you don't struggle with mental health or generational trauma, even if you're not indigenous, even if you don't have any disabilities, you can watch these shows and understand those things, and empathize with how the people in the story deal with them. Storytelling at its finest.
Tl;dr Moon Knight and Echo, they can never make me hate you.

When I was 16 I was politically involved, and I went to a small event for a certain statewide candidate. I asked a question about how this person intended to restore young people's trust in the government after years of state and federal government basically telling young people they didn't matter. My question was laughed at and they accused me of trying to get this candidate to solve all the world's problems. I just wanted them to say they'd help young people. And they didn't. That was such a defining moment for me, and now a few years later my entire life goal is to never be like the people in that room
you cant ever let yourself forget what it felt like to be 15. how adults treated you. being treated without a shred of respect because people think youre too young to have thoughts and feelings of your own. the lack of autonomy. you cant ever forget that because if you do you might become the kind of adult who treats kids like theyre not people

You ever so passionate about an idea that it inspires you to do crazy stuff you'd never even think about doing otherwise? I'm currently considering getting decent at graphic design to create a manual in the style of old NES game manuals for the RPG Maker horror game I'm working on

This is actually so true. Lucy Fallout they can never make me hate you
Hot take. Bring back likeable, altruistic protagonists. Like, I can appreciate the sassy smartasses of stuff like Umbrella Academy, or the morally grey and sometimes downright evil main characters of stuff like Ths Boys and Watchmen. But I feel like at this point we've spent so long subverting the "all-good boy scout hero" trope that an actual all-good boy scout hero would be a breath of fresh air. Stop making dark spoofs on Superman and make actual Superman's
To be clear, this isn't a diss on any of those shows or movies. I love UA, I love Watchmen, etc.
