NONFANTASY CHAPTER ONE SNEAK PEEK
Light Novel Translation
synopsis here
introduction here
(Oh... I have to get a seat...)
"My seat is..." The moment she entered the classroom, she confirmed if she had the right seat by looking at the allotment on the blackboard.
Hiyori's seat is in the middle of the class.
"Huh? This seat is..."
Looking back at it, she found out that it was indeed, in front of where Yuujiro is sitting.
She tried going around it, but was only blocked by Aizou who stood in front of her.
"Hn?" Hiyori said as she looked at his back.
Aizou looked down to stare at Yuujiro and does not move at all.
(Uhm... my seat is there so can you...?)
But Hiyori couldn't say that, so instead, she stands behind him without knowing what to do.
(.....Did something happen?)
"Don't get in the way of others, bastard*." Aizou says in a murmur.
Yuujiro irritatingly whispers back in the same volume, "I don't want to be told that by you."

I fell so deeply in love with your writing that I started my own interactive fiction novel based on an idea I had developed over the years... BUT, I've been using Twine and I hate it. What program do you use to write? Coding is intense, were there any resources that aided your coding the most? Do you have literally any tips or advice that could save me while I'm at the beginning? I'm so excited, I owe it all to you and your beautiful talent for inspiring me. Truly, you kick ass Mishka!!
Aah, you’ll love interactive fiction! It’s incredibly addictive to write, hehe :D
I use Notepad++ to write on, but I know there are other programs people favour (ones that use colour to help pull things out better and stuff), not sure what they are though!
Mostly my tips would be write something you love and stick with what you love. Find a way of planning and writing the suits your style, whether that’s planning it all first and then writing, or writing some and planning as you go, etc!
Routine is your friend :D
Thank you so much for the ask and the wonderful message! <3

Synopsis here.
- - - - - - - - - -

The sound of bells rang throughout the blue sky.
While wearing a pure white dress, she pulls the hem of her long lace veil and steps inside the chapel.
With one step at a time, she continued to walk.
The hand she was using to hold the bouquet shook a little from the nervousness.
(Ah, that's right...I'm about to be wedded to the person I love...)
Thinking absentmindedly, her feet stopped in front of the arched doorway;
And into the place where that person is waiting for her—
Slowly, she pushes the door open.
A red carpet is laid out, heading towards the altar in front.
Flowers were displayed on the wooden benches lined up left and right.
Figures of two boys in a white tuxedo stood ahead with their backs away from her.
The sound of the door opening catch their attention, both looking back before greeting her with a smile.
With a heart beating loudly inside her chest, she stands up straight and proceeds to walk again.
"I've always been searching; even before the two of us met,"
The boy smiled from ear to ear, taking Hiyori's hand into his own.
"I was searching for you."
Having said that, the other boy took her free hand.
Hanging her head down in embarrassment as she waits, the veil suddenly lifts.
(Huh.......?! Someya-kun?! Shibasaki-kun?!)
Hiyori, who was in a trance, suddenly comes back to her senses and sees the two of them.
With their hands still clasped around Hiyori's, both gently close their eyes.
(Huh, wait...j-just wait a second!)
It doesn't matter if Hiyori was panicking before them, slowly, they purse their lips—
"UKYAAAAAAA——!"
Hiyori jolted awake, screaming, and was staring vacantly for a while as she listens to the sound of her throbbing heartbeat.
"H-Huh.....?"
Looking around her surroundings restlessly, she finds herself inside the one-room apartment she's been living at since Spring.
Her eyes gravitates toward the clock sitting above the shelf, the timepiece indicating that it was already past eight o'clock in the evening.
On the table was her favorite cup, half of its contents had already been drank down.
"A....dream?"
As she muttered distractedly under her breath, strength suddenly leaves her body and she falls against the table.
"What's up with that dream..?"
Somehow, she had been taking a nap before she knew it.
The time didn't really matter to her—it was enough as it is.
What upsets her more is the song coming out from the TV she had left open before dozing off.
The musical program flashing on the screen was just in time to introduce 『LIP×LIP』's new MV.
The girl wore a wedding dress with an enchanting smile placed upon her lips; both of her hands being held by Yuujiro and Aizo respectively.
The members of the idol unit 『LIP×LIP』 who debuted at the time of their Junior High and had since then been soaring in popularity.
Hiyori lays out a heavy roll of mat and lays down on it, her hands snaking around the cushion beside her.
The moment she closes her eyes, a dreamy scene comes into her mind.
Her cheeks gradually flush hot, and she suddenly presses the cushion against her face in response.
(If I were a girl resembling a heroine...will I be able to fall in love with someone prince-like?)
But that person should be....
"Absolutely not like the two of them! Because..."
An idol is someone that everyone admires.
A person who smiles when you call them.
Warm hands that wrap gently around yours.
"I like you."
Those words that makes a fuss inside you when said for the very first time.
An event that can only happen within a dream.
Because all of it is merely 『fantasy』.

"You are that rose, Seven."
series: mystic messenger
pairing: seven x f!reader
genre: angst
type: oneshot
He was like a beautiful red rose.
The apple of her eye. The only thing that is so underrated yet retains the same beauty everyone craves for. For her, he was a symbol of passionate love, a symbol that whispers those three sweet words at first glance.
He was her rose.
Saeyoung. Luciel. Seven. It didn't matter which name he had chosen to label himself. It didn't matter how he belittled himself. It didn't matter if being with him is a risk. Hell, it didn't even matter that he doesn't love her.
He had given her endless cuts, and she keeps tolerating the pain. She keeps tending to her bloodied wounds that somehow started to reach the depths of her heart. It cracked from a single word of resentment from the man whom she considered as the most beautiful thing in the world.
When everything shattered, she picked them all up despite the pain.
And although the pieces hurt,
she stayed.
All of that just so he could see his own beauty.
Just so he could find a moment to breathe.
“Seven.” She tells him for the nth time today, wondering just how often that name escapes her lips. “I love you.”
Always. Her mind follows. And that won't ever change.
Even if she didn't hear a single reply from him, she smiled. Bright and unwavering. After all, today will be the last day.
The last day this lone jonquil would ever watch the dazzling rose from afar; hoping that someday, someone could make the meaning of her flower change into a requited one.
It doesn't matter if you don't love me, she continues to write dead into the night, just please learn to love yourself.
No matter how beautiful a rose is, there will always be thorns surrounding it.
But if it's so beautiful that you don't notice the pain, then it really is something very special.
A lone tear smudges the ink, and she had to place a hand over her trembling lips to stop her sobs.
And for me, you are that rose, Seven.
Please, be happy.
bad end.

"I'm sorry."
series: haikyuu!!
pairing: kozume kenma x f!reader
genre: angst, romance
type: oneshot (part of a series)
。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚
Kenma wouldn't be lying if he said Kuroo and (First Name) are his closest friends.
Ever since the day the girl asked him to play her save file to beat a strong boss, she had been meeting with them at the same spot everyday. And like a piece of a puzzle, she fit in quite nicely in the group.
(First Name) was quick to adapt to situations; something Kenma appreciated because it meant he didn't have to be the one adjusting. She was sensitive enough to notice when Kenma felt uncomfortable or not. And he was perceptive enough to figure out the pattern she was taking.
It didn't take her too long to take off bits and pieces from the wall that separated Kenma from her. Bits that he watched her take away from the space he tucked himself in. Pieces of himself that would protect him.
Until one day, there was nothing left of that barricade.
He felt close to her — closer than he did with their other friend — and knew she felt the same way. There was something about the way her presence feels that is different from the other people around him. Something comforting and pleasant.
Something safe.
But the world isn't kind enough to let him know that like Kenma had felt safe when he was with her — it was the same for her.
The alarm bells rang loudly inside his head as they sat across from each other, watching the saturated pallette of golds and oranges beating down on them from the window of their classroom.
Loose hair falls from the side of her face and Kenma held himself back from touching them — wondering how it would feel to hold strips of her hair in his fingers — instead, he revels in the tender quite that goes in between them.
Until she tells him during that one, fateful day, of the feelings of love she was beginning to harbor without him noticing. Words full of affection that she let Kenma to know about.
Words he knew that wasn't for him to take.
"I like Kuroo."
Just as the world had decided he would feel the most at ease in the presence of the girl he thought as nothing but a friend — Kenma could never, ever know that he was also for her: a boy who's only meant to be a friend.
There are things about a person that we could never know about.
Kenma knew this was true, as he stared at her blushing face from her admittance. His ears ringing as the confession passes over her mouth.
The pen he was using to write stopped moving a long time ago. The extended line of the kanji he's trying to form the only proof of (First Name) catching him off-guard.
He looks down at the mess, a smile already in place on his lips like an automated response beyond his own recognition.
"I'll be cheering for you."
How much of ourselves should we let people know of?
Something more than our name? Our personality? Perhaps, even our thoughts?
Kenma didn't know. He would stare into the walls of his heart and try to figure it out. Taking them off by himself slowly before building them back up again.
How much am I willing to share?
The chaotic thoughts inside our heads. The demons everyone shares in one way or another. Dreams of a life that was different from the real one. And secrets that we are too scared to tell anyone of.
How much are we willing to share?
Kenma knows, more than anyone else, that he could never let people know him the way he does himself.
You can never completely know someone. Unless they let you know about them.
The smiling girl in front of him, with feelings he didn't think she had, was proof of that realization.
"I didn't know at all." He mutters to himself, erasing his mistake from before.
"Kenma."
A voice brings Kenma out of his thoughts, the world going back into focus as his eyes blink rapidly to clear his vision. He shifts his gaze from the ground, eyes meeting with familiar (eye color) ones he's known all his life.
(First Name) looks at him with worry, her hands immediately catching his forehead before he could react.
"Hey, are you sick?" She asks before checking her own temperature to compare it with his. Blood pools around the edges of Kenma's cheeks; a rush of warmth demanding his hurried attention as he immediately extracts (First Name)'s hold of him.
He stares at her surprised reaction before letting go of her hand, his heart beating loudly against his ribcage.
Not good. Not good. Not good.
It takes him everything to rip away his eyes off her, nails digging themselves on the strap of his bag as he realizes what he did.
"I'm sorry." He mutters before sprinting off ahead of (First Name), the latter calling for his name behind him.
But Kenma doesn't look back.

"I wish I didn't care." [Fkbu]
series: fugou keiji: balance unlimited
pairing: daisuke kambe x f!reader
tags: angst
type: oneshot
。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚
He wished to stop walking.
Yes. It would have been better if he didn't have to attend this ceremony.
People around him weeped. It didn't help when those that did would try their best to hold in their sobs. Kambe thought it would be much better if they just let everything out and let the noise filter out the static filling up the room.
That way, maybe he won't have to feel this way.
His eyes remained fixated at the simple coffin in the middle of the room. Bouquets of flowers for the dead intermingled with the whiff of burning insence assaulted his senses. The picture of the woman of the hour stares back at him with a cheerful smile.
The photo alone should have been a comforting sight, yet it felt as though he was being mocked.
Kambe didn't like the feeling of being unable to grasp something; like holding onto grains of sand and hoping it won't flow out. Yet he was there. Unmoving. Holding a breath he didn't even notice.
He had grasped the sand for too long, without knowing it was leaving him, slowly and surely.
Kambe didn't care. He wished he didn't.
But the person lying inside the white coffin made him think twice about his empathy. Twice about everything he believed in. Twice in the way he saw the world. Like an annoying beacon of light, she went and invaded the confined spaces of his life and brought in a feeling of warmth. Something he thought he didn't need, but welcomed it nonetheless.
He wished he didn't.
Everyone patted him in the back, offering words of consolation as though (Name) was something more than a colleague. Something more than he thought she was. He never dared to pursue what was between them, thinking he was mistaking camaraderie with love. It didn't even occur to him that he had to say it--he thought they had plenty of time to do that.
If he hadn't been careless and let down his guard, maybe they would be standing somewhere other than a bleak crematorium room. Peppered with people who cried silently, and children who didn't dare play around. For once, he's hating (Name) for being someone who could mark their way into someone else's life. Giving you one thing to think about and making it last for a lifetime.
"Once we're done with this mission, let's go somewhere!"
Then why are you sleeping soundly in there?
He hated the thought of her marking him. He thought it was simply cruel to leave someone one last memory and leave. Allowing only the moments to eat away at you like a flesh-eating disease, never being able to wash them away and start to forget.
Kambe walks toward the coffin, the onlookers breathing a sigh of relief as he does. Yet he couldn't hear them from the sound of his heart and the blood rushing into his ringing ears. It felt as though something was ripping out layers of him and dragging it out. He had never felt so vulnerable in his life apart from now.
The smell of lilies overwhelmed him.
It would've been easier if the thought of her departing didn't take a piece of him in return.
"I wish I didn't care." He says to no one but himself, finally looking at (Name)'s slumbering figure.
And for once...for once he allows himself to break.

❝the coffee machine broke.❞
Forget me. Not. [fkbu]
miyamura | kanbe
episode zero : ❝the coffee machine broke.❞
。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚
"This is your next assignment."
The chief drops a thick stack of papers on a certain overtimer's desk, eyes immediately peeling off her computer's screen before a loud bang makes her flinch.
She blinks out her initial shock, then looks at him.
"Chief, even if you say that..." (Name) says in disbelief, hovering her free hand over the top folder which supposedly contained the summarized report. Her eyes were already hurting just by imagining the amount of words inside the thick portfolio presented to her. "...no matter how you look at it, isn't this too much?"
Her boss only smiles innocently at her in reply, his hands rubbing against each other like a businessman trying to con his way to someone's pockets. He leans towards (Name) in a cordial attempt of negotiation, unsurprisingly, her first instinct is to back away.
"I'm really sorry, Miyamura-kun," The Chief tries a cordial apology, seeming to notice the way her face crumpled into an expression of cringe. "But we all know you're one of our top detectives. We can't really trust anyone with this."
She glances at the clock hanging on the door across her desk, the timepiece indicating she's been extending her stay in the office for about 30 minutes now. Her shoulders sag in exhaustion, he must've known she was still here and decided to burden her with the task instead of actually assigning it to someone else.
Clicking her tongue in annoyance, she opens the folder to read the reports. A picture of a man in his late twenties assaults her field of vision. His black hair is slicked back from his forehead, short enough so that it doesn't hang messily around the frame of his face. Dull blue eyes from the photo stare back at her, and she scrunches her nose at the familiarity that hits her when she looks at the photo.
"Oh, that's not the report!" The Chief tells her once he realizes what she was looking at. He hands her another folder from the stack piled on the desk before he points at the photo clipped neatly on the edge. A smile lights up his face as he delivers the news.
"This is Daisuke Kanbe," He informs her with a warm expression. "He will be your partner in this case."
'...My what?' The thought passes her head, before disappearing as quickly as it arrived.
"Hah?" She breathes out subconsciously, the color from her boss' face draining completely from the reaction he got from her. "D-Don't worry! He's not a total newbie! In fact, he's already solved a good amount of cases ever since he joined the force!"
She waves off his reply, tossing the folder back into the heap. The Chief's eyes avoids hers as she folds her hands over her chest, brows raised and looking offended at his statement.
"I don't really care whether I get assigned with a newcomer or what," She taps a finger on this Kanbe guy's picture, a sour look forming on her face as she thinks about the prospect of working with him for an assignment. "I've heard plenty of news about this man from Haru. I don't like him."
The Chief follows (Name) in a flurry of panic as she stood up from her seat, his hands flailing in the air in a comical fashion behind her. Heading towards the break room located on the spacious left side near the door, she opens the cabinet containing her dose of poison and dump the premium coffee beans inside the maker. Still, her boss boss keeps steaming off about her new partner, making her lean on the counter on her back and regarding him with cold eyes.
"Miyamura-kun, I know you're good friends with Kato but," He points towards the picture only shocking her to find out that he actually carried the whole file just to emphasize his point. "He is good at what he does! Good at everything even!"
She frowns at the obvious sucking up. It isn't unnatural for people to do all they can to earn points for someone like Kanbe. The guy's loaded with money, and the connections he has might prove to be useful if someone wishes to climb up the ranks. What's more is that it looks like he's got the Chief dancing on his palms already and the irritation (Name) held for him only deepens at the realization.
"Good at everything you say?" She scoffs, a sneer pulling up her lips before she turns back to attend to her drink. It's a good thing the officials gifted her this machine. It makes coffee faster than the Chief losing his hair without any difficulty, a comfort (Name) welcomes from the neverending workload she has to do. "If Daisuke Kanbe has to be good in any aspect, won't that also mean he's good at being a massive idi...space cadet?"
(Name) barely avoids the insult her mouth nearly allowed her to say, the machine letting out a nice sounding ding as it finishes grounding her coffee, snapping her to collect her wits. She places her cup below the nozzle, a tasty aroma already wafting across the room as it fills up the mug. The familiar smell makes her sigh in contentment, the tenseness she hasn't noticed before leaving her shoulders in an instant.
"But, Miyamura-kun--" She holds up a hand, turning her head to look at him before dismissing another barrage of his subjective reasoning for his Kanbe.
"No. I don't care about that Kanbe guy," (Name) interrupts him. "And I doubt I'd care about him even as partners...for...the job..."
Her voice falters at the end of the sentence, the words dragging longer than it had to as she looked towards the entrance. A man in a dark, tailored suit with an ebony slicked back hair and dull blue eyes stares at her from the doorway. Behind him is Haru with a sympathetic frown on his face as he looks at her, shaking his head and mouthing out sorry.
(Name) could only gulp at the horrible timing, a sudden loud creak from below her snatching her attention away from the newcomers.
She looks down to her hand, only to see her coffee machine broken from the way the grip limped. It seems like she had somehow pushed the handle too hard that it ended up slacking pathetically.
'Well...at least my doctor won't pester me about my caffeine addiction anymore.'
Looking back to her midnight visitors, she simply says, "The coffee machine broke." Her (eye color) eyes find Kanbe's blue ones, his gaze studying (Name) before landing on her wrecked coffee machine.
A ghost of a smile curls on his lips, the gesture never reaching his eyes.
"Nice to meet you, Detective Miyamura." He greets her, the sound of his voice sending shivers down her back.
That killer smile plastered on his face doesn't look very promising.
