This. It's so clear in the Doctors' last conversation in the Giggle episode too. The fifteenth Doctor can be free with his emotions because the Tenth Doctor is going to stay with his family and heal. He's taken on all the burden of their past so Fifteen can move forward with a lighter heart and mind, and I love it.

The reason the fifteenth doctor cries every episode is that every previous doctor wanted to cry every episode but was too repressed to actually do it. This is character development

I cannot stress how much of an impact this will have for the aspec community. It shows a character who has quite literally seen almost every inch of the universe, met all kinds of people, has been in all kinds of relationships. And what makes him the happiest is settling down with his best friend. He doesn't need romantic love or a relationship. How incredible is that? To have a show, in this sex obsessed day and age, do that?

When the entire world is telling aspec people our "lifestyle" is wrong or depressing or sad. When everyone is trying to "fix" us or is pitying us. When aroace erasure is so deeply rooted in society that you can scarcely find a fictional pairing where the fandom isn't crying their eyes out because they didn't get together or didn't kiss, as if their relationship is somehow lesser or inferior because of it.

I could go on and on about how earth-shattering it is to have one of the most popular and beloved characters in media choose platonic love. To show how platonic love and friendships are so powerful they even defied physics, probably even deeper and more powerful than romantic ones.

So much this. The Doctor and Donna's friendship is absolutely beautiful. I loved them together from the get-go because Donna was so different from Rose or Martha. She wasn't in love with the Doctor, and she never hesitated to speak her mind, to push him to be better. She was exactly who he needed in his corner.

Something that often scared aspec people is being left out in the cold when all our friends eventually find partners and start families and it leaves us feeling so unimportant and like we always come second place.

But this...

It shows how capable of perseverance platonic love is. It only needs to be strong enough. People can love their best friends just as much as their families. And it can be beautiful. To see this as an aspec person gives me so much hope for the future, I hope rtd knows how much this finale means to so many ace and aro people

Everyone pretty much has stars in their eyes whenever they're with The Doctor but the Nobles?;

Is it just me or does The Doctor get unusually heartless/arrogant as the Twelfth doctor?

After the three Doctors getting together, I thought he'd be lighter. Instead he's grumpy, more arrogant than ever, and seems to not care much about people at all. Or at least he acts like he doesn't, which seems like a complete 180 from the previous two doctors' personalities.

Here’s a parallel I noticed that highlights the difference between Cas relationship with Dean and Cas relationship with Sam pretty well. Episodes 10x22 vs 14x15

When MOC Dean is beating up Cas, Cas doesn’t hit back even once. The most he does is try to bear hug him from behind to calm him down. But not a single punch.

When Sam is Justin Smith, Cas says he won’t hurt him, but he actually does pick him up and slam him into the ground. It’s not a big deal, obviously he knows Sam can take it, but it’s something he wouldn’t even do with Dean.

Before the actual fighting, Cas tells dean, “I’m your friend… I’ll be the one that watches you murder the world.” And then when MOC Dean is on top of Cas holding the angel blade to him, Cas holds onto the wrist Dean has on his tie and the only thing he says is, “please”. He doesn’t even try to grab the hand holding the knife. And then Dean stops.

On the other hand, when Sam is on top of Cas trying to stab him, Cas uses an entirely different approach. He’s forcibly holding back Sam’s arm that’s holding the angel blade. He tells him he understands that he wants to be happy, but that if he does this he fails the people they lost. He says “if you do this you fail Jack. Sam, you fail Dean.” And that makes Sam stop.

The difference that’s so stark is that Cas has to appeal to Sam through talking about Dean. But Cas can appeal to Dean through his own relationship to him. He doesn’t need to bring up what it will do to Sam or anyone else, because their own relationship is powerful enough and he knows it.
