Like how many full grown women walked out of there and googled “how do I know if I like girls??” Like I know if I wasn’t painfully aware of my own queerness that would’ve at least helped push me in the right direction and from what I’ve gathered from my other sapphic friends they all feel the same.

TW: MENTION OF ED THOUGHTS AND ED SYMPTOMS AND EXPERIENCE

This gets into a fair bit of detail so please be kind to yourself. This post is not meant to try and trigger an ED by describing it, i am just simply taking about my disgust with the media’s obsession with women and girls eating little to no food. Again please be kind to yourself

I do not give two shits about the toxic body media. I have lived with eating disorders multiple times throughout my life and I am not even 18 yet.

I stopped eating at 7 because a boy at school told me I was fat and that no one would like me if I was fat. He was a year older than me and I took it to heart. I had what was essentially anorexia at 7, because of a dickhead boy. I was hospitalized at 9 because of it, one comment from one person triggered that, there were other comments too from different people, mostly my mother.

At 12 I started throwing up after almost every meal, even at school. This time because of my father, he was constantly talking about how my brother and I eat too much and how we need to stop snacking so much. He eventually made us ask permission to have any snack other than fruit or vegetable. We were only allowed one “sugary” drink per week, the issue is everything that wasn’t water fell into that category. This triggered my bulimia that I still struggle with, my father and mother continue to make comments about how much I’m apparently eating even though I’ve talked to them about how damaging their comments are to me. I was told I’m “taking it out of context” and “overreacting” and “we’re just making sure you’re healthy”

They’ve ruined my relationship with food, eating makes me sick because of them. And nod every time I log into Instagram I see “easy weight loss meals” or “skinny in 10 days” shit. And the fucking “what I eat in a day” videos. There’s also the recent “girl dinner” trend. Living with an ED fucking sucks, I hate it and I hate myself for it. I feel disgusting every time I eat and I feel guilty every time I throw up. It is fucking disgusting to see the glorification of women and girls eating next to nothing. The obsession with being skinny is sickening
