Hiii! <3 It's totally okay, and a really fun question to answer!

There are lots of things I like about Swedish culture. It's constantly being warped and weaponized by nazis though, which is a shame (to put it very mildly)

Old Swedish history and Norse mythology is definitely up in the top of my list. Most of that is shared with the rest of Scandinavia + Iceland, so not exclusively Swedish culture, but still. I've grown up among rune stones and bronze age rock carvings and it really feels like a privilege to have history so close and easily accessible. Also being taught cool stories about weird gods doing crazy shit as a kid was fun.

There's lots of Swedish folklore, fiction and ART to be inspired by too. I have to mention John Bauer (1882-1918) who's illustrations influenced so many generations of artists (me included). His trolls are like, the blueprints of what trolls look like.

Another cultural icon is the author Astrid Lindgren who wrote 'Pippi Longstocking', 'Ronja the Robber's Daughter' and many more. She often collaborated with illustrator Ilon Wikland who's works definitely influenced me to take the path in life I'm on right now. Here's her wrap-around cover illustration for Ronja:

Lastly: there's SO much great Swedish music. I made a mixtape for you of some of my favorites and a few classics for the fun of it (mostly indie pop/rock). The very first Swedish thing I wanted to share is the band Kent. They're like the epitome of the bleak, melancholy experience of being Swedish and I wish I could translate their lyrics to fully share it with you. 400 slag (400 punches) is one of my all time favorite songs.

Today Kakashi tricked me into eating vegetables.

"But how he tricked you into eating vegetables?" you may ask... I had a dream. In this dream Kakashi told me to eat my veggies or he will be sad. And it worked. I literally made myself a breakfast with vegetables because I didn't want Kakashi from my dream be sad.

This man really has a good influence on me, even tho he's fictional. 😭
