I forgot to mention that I'm going to shoot Carlos with my trans masc gun, so he'll be dealing with a lot of internalized stuff. (I want to try my hand at writing this, and also, I am most definitely projecting)

if I ever made a nightvale au I'd probably make it a two perspective thing. Like Carlos's and Cecil's perspectives. Like for Carlos, it'd be horror, while Cecil's would be romance.

Like Carlos would have a crush on Cecil but he wouldn't realize, so he'd just think it was some sort of scientific anomaly caused by Night vale. "Hmmm, I feel my heart rate increase, and my face heat up when I'm around him. And I feel an overwhelming sense of safety and comfort around him.... hmmm.. it's probably just something to do with the area!" while Cecil is just hit by a truck of love when he sees Carlos.

I'd also probably give Carlos a bit of internalized homophobia while Nightvale is a very accepting and open place for the LGBTQ community. (Carlos will still be hella gay dw) But I'd probably do it so Carlos would slowly overcome it. It'll still linger, but over time, he'd be able to say no to it and keep moving. (definitely not for projection purposes, no siree).
