We should really get rid of physical gift cards
For a long time in America, people have bought gift cards, whether it was a gift for someone else or a gift for themselves. Needless to say there was an easy purpose for them.

What FM radio Christmas music taught me during Christmas in July
Late last month, I had the opportunity to listen to Christmas music on traditional FM radio because a station near me was playing nothing but Christmas music for the last weekend of July.

Why I don’t make plans with friends anymore
Throughout the course of my life, I have never been the person to make and have a lot of friends at once. My introverted lifestyle would simply never allow for that.
However, if there is one thing I will not tolerate anymore after dealing with it during my high school and college years, it is this nonsense of changing plans at the last-minute. To me, it is horribly unfair and disrespectful to…

My top 5 reasons I don’t like the summer
Every year, it seems as though a lot of people, if not the majority, say they love the summer. This leaves me in the minority of people who don’t like it.

Why the restaurant industry will change faster than you think
Over the last several years, I have worked in and kept my finger on the pulse of the service industry, specifically when it comes to the retail and restaurants (fast food and sit-down).
To give you an idea of my background in this, I worked my senior year of high school at Best Buy, five years at the Hy-Vee grocery store, a corporate position at Hy-Vee Corp. years later, and while I do not want…

My advice to graduating journalism/communications majors

It’s been a while, so here’s an update
It’s been a while since I last wrote on here and I apologize for that. I have thought for a while that I would at least get a post on here once a month. However, that task has been put on the back-burner due to a variety of different factors.

David Archuleta should be the King of Christmas…not Michael Bublé
David Archuleta should be the King of Christmas…not Michael Bublé
As someone who is a fan of both artists, but more so David Archuleta than Michael Buble, I do think it is time for America to consider the idea that Archuleta might actually be the best Christmas singer of our current time.

Getting back into reading
Getting back into reading
One thing that I did back in late high school, but more so in college that I loved to do was read books. They are really get you thinking, and in a lot of cases now, are a lot better than most of the stuff coming out on TV.

Why I do not support record labels
Why I do not support record labels
Not that it is a bad song, but the song “As It Was” by Harry Styles has gotten quite annoying on the radio. I don’t listen to the radio much, but just over the past month or so when I have, the song is on all the time.
There have even been times when I go to (let’s just say Station 1, 2, and 3) Station 1 in Des Moines and it’s playing there, so you switch it to Station 2 and it’s playing there…

My 3-day weekend experience
My 3-day weekend experience
Sorry I did not write anything in December 2021. I was very busy with my full-time job, Appleosophy work, the holidays, and everything that comes with that.
However, it is 2022 now and this is my first post for the new year, so at least there is something to be said for that.
With that said, this month, I was recently able to get a three-day weekend from work. Right now, the job I’m in does not…
