I lost my dog today and it’s been really REALLY hard. They tell you it’s hard and nothing ever really prepares you for it, and I’d been trying to prepare myself for this for months and it’s really a whole different kind of grief.

I had my dog for almost 12 years, we were attached at the hip. She understood me in ways no other pet had, she had a crazy personality with so much attitude. She knew when I was feeling bad and would help me through my mental health challenges.

In May of last year, we were told by the vets that she had degenerative myelopathy, which means that she lost control of her back legs and essentially was slowly going paralyzed. It wasn’t until last October that she started to fully lose the ability to walk. The beginning of this year was really hard and was where I was beginning to think about euthanasia but it was really difficult to tell because she was still so happy and was scooting herself around. She made it to April.

She had become my job essentially, helping her walk around and go to the bathroom and cleaning up after her. But it really became evident when she was ready to go.

They had told me I had kept her in perfect health and did a good job caring for her until the very end, and that’s really all I can hope for.

My house feels really empty without her, in fact this is the first time this house has never had her in it.

Being into final fantasy is so embarrassing sometimes like u got someone asking you a question and then u gotta explain at least like half of the story so they can understand what the fuck you just answered

Played crisis core reunion for my friends and they were like “why’d this get so sad???” And at the very end during the cutscene it was just them going “oh my god.” Like sorry
