3 buddies, making it work

Team bonding

I'm thinking about how these guys interact constantly right now. Like imagine being with your siblings in a trench coat.

I have this theory that when Doey has his (very valid) crash out, Matthew, who usually acts as the voice of reason, is so devastated at losing, or in his mind, failing to protect, the other kids that he just does not have the strength to reason with Kevin at all for more than a couple seconds. Jack probably reacts like most little kids and gets inconsolable when he sees his older sibling figure upset, which compounds that he's already sad that he lost people too. So Kevin is not only furious about Poppy, the player, and his friends, but also his co-pilots are in shambles by what he views as the player's (and poppy's) actions, and that makes him even angrier. Which results in him taking over because he obviously knows better than both of them this time.
