Divided.

My best friend who I fell in love with decided to break off our relationship for reasons I rather not discuss. In this water color piece I tried to convey those feelings of wanting her back, yet there is a barrier separating us. I am the pink betta fish mermaid, wanting to go on her side and cross over. She on the other hand wants her space, and nothing to do with me. Betta fish are supposed to be kept apart. Yet, even they get curious, and desire to venture out, even if they know they can get hurt in the process.

“Sometimes things just happen, but you just have to float along with it.” I’ve been feeling depressed but my art always helps comfort me. It’s my outlet. Shit is hard, and sometimes you can’t do anything about it. But you can keep floating along with it, right? Eventually things will get better. They will! It’s hard to be patient, I know, but things will get better. Hang in there.
