Aquaman Villains - Fisherman
Name Unknown Aquaman #21 (1965)
Had a rough time fitting him into frame with his rod, but we make do.
Fisherman is a solid top 5 Aquaman rogue who deserves more appearances for being this status. However, he does have an interesting trajectory in regards to his lore/backstory, mainly with the revelation that his headpiece is actually an interdimensional parasite. That fact gets quite complicated when you try to rationalize why a parasite would control a man to become a fishing themed criminal, especially one from another dimension, but I think there is story potential to make this work. I personally like when Fisherman was is a coastal fisherman who caught and then succumbed to the parasite. Recently he's been depicted as something more metahuman, or inhuman, which I like less. I kind of like the idea that the human body is essentially a zombie post attachment, with the parasite fully taking over the host and perhaps feeding off the skills the host body was most proficient in and pushing those towards aggression. Though this then opens the idea to putting the parasite on other people, diluting the actual fisherman character. No doubt there's a lot more to be explored with him and I'd love to see Aquaman's villains established into a more definitive rogues gallery.

General Mills Cereal Monsters - Kracklin' Kraken
Is that the sound of a monster bubblin' up from below the surface, or is it just the sound of new Kracklin' Kraken crispy rice cereal?

Superman Heroes - Superman
Clark Kent/Kal-El Action Comics #1 (1938)
Superman (2025) comes out today and I've been looking forward to it for a long while, so I had to draw the man of steel himself.
I've liked more recent depictions of superman where he has browner hair and tanner skin (Harley Quinn the Animated Series for example) since it makes more sense with his sun ray absorbing powers and all.

Justice League Heroes - Vixen
Mari McCabe First Appearance: Action Comics #521 (1981)
I've had this idea for Vixen in my head for a long while. I personally think most of her outfit designs since the 90s are passable at best and absolutely hideous at worst (Speaking specifically on the Rebirth crotch eagle). How ironic too that she's a fashion model, and gets the worst looks. This is my attempt at giving her a little more fashion, while keeping her tactical, functional and superheroey. The legs stripes are inspired by the okapi's, since I'm tired of her just getting tiger stripes. I also took inspiration from her design in Batman: The Brave and the Bold for her gloves and colors, and JLU for her tight hair style. Cartoons stay peak for superhero designs.
Also, what is the deal with comic illustrators always trying deny or erase orange as a costume color? Justice for orange! Vixen, Aquaman, and Animal Man stand in solidarity.

Blue Beetle Villains - Madmen
Lead by Farley Fleeter First Appearance: Blue Beetle #3 (1967)
Being that these guys are Blue Beetle's oldest villains, it's interesting they haven't found a very strong footing in comics. Writer's that feel inclined to include them kinda toss them around, use them as pawns, or change up their MO completely, but nothing ever really sticks. They are essentially a blank slate, not usually having any powers and basically just being a goofy street gang. Now I normally hate trying to reinvent characters to be "trendy" or "appeal to the youth," but I think these guys are one of the few characters that are naturally built for it. I'd lean into them being a sort of malicious tiktok "hype house" type crew. They've been presented as attention seeking, stunt pulling criminals, sometimes looking to build their ranks, so doing this through social media would be a highly effective plan. They can post videos of vandalism, stunt, pranks and soft crimes online to garner an audience and recruit members. Slowly they build a following and pull off more dangerous and criminal acts. Plus the have an iconic look that can be branded and mimicked by their followers. All this PLUS the added footnote that Blue Beetle is a legacy character who is now (usually) a much younger teenager in Jaime Reyes, adapts them into his world.

Hawkman & Hawkgirl Villains - Lion-Mane
Edward Dawson First Appearance: Hawkman #20 (1967)
Put Lion-Mane high on the list of DC villains that need more attention. He can absolutely be a formidable and terrifying foe. I love the way he was drawn and portrayed in the 2005 run. I think most would naturally assume a were-lion character would just be tough and intimidating, but that run made him legitimately scary, as a lion man beast would be in reality. I tried to channel a little of that in his eyes and face, while still keeping him a bulky brute.
Lion-Mane also has a lot of narrative potential that that run tapped into, but I think can be expanded upon. His character should be analogous to actual lion behavior. The arrogant head of a crime ring, with a favoring of many wives (perhaps kidnapped) is an easy start for a truly villainous character. I see so much for him.
The only wrinkle in his story, that I can't quite find the proper angle for, is his origin. I'm a strong believer that any origin can work with only minor tweaking, and I'm not huge about throwing it out completely and making something new. However, a meteor that turns him into a lion man, maybe connected to an alien race of lion people, is a little tough to sell for me. Maybe best to keep it ambiguous if he's ever used in adaptation.

Common Side Effects Self Insert
Absolutely loved this show, and honestly this entire genre of mature animated shows (Like Scavenger's Reign and Carol & the End of the World). Super thrilled to hear it's getting a second season and had to add it's weird style to my repertoire.

Snackerel
Animal: Mackerel Sweet: Snacks Level 1 Pinata
Welcome to the ocean! The Snackerel will be the bottom of the marine food chain on pinata island. Obtaining it would be the same as a Creminnow (catching it in a fish trap), but you need 1 pinometer of deep water to have it reside. In my canon, later in the game you'd unlock an excavator tool to dig deeper sections of water, and unlocking it would also unlock access to the beach, where all of the coastal and marine pinata run wild.

Green Lantern Villains - Atrocitus
Atrocitus First Appearance: Green Lantern #25 (2007)
Atrocitus has such an iconic look to him that I often find his redesigns don't work. Many cartoons and movies have attempted to make him more reptilian and alien (I.E Green Lantern the Animated Series, Green Lantern: Emerald Knights), but I personally just think he gets lost. Even in Injustice 2, though the change to his face is a practical change so he can move his mouth more articulately, doesn't fully feel like him. I also took a bit of time while drawing this, struggling to figure out how to make his face really feel like him, without even trying to stray from his regular comic look.
