if you watch the movie, Howl is adorable albeit over dramatic and Sophie is a little sarcastic. They also have an adorable wartime cottagecore romance

in the book Howl is a piece of human garbage who one time someone told the writer she wanted to marry Howl and the writer straight up went “why, he’s horrible??” But he’s cool and over dramatic and quotes Shakespeare

and Sophie is the only one who can put him in his place, and she has canonically cursed a lot in the book (though it’s not said the curse words just that she cursed)

I might watch it if I can find out where, and if I can afford it (so like in 3 years maybe)

my mom's on and off ex-boyfriend (I'll call him jay for simplicity) is unsure if he wants to help us escape one of my mom's abusive boyfriends AGAIN

he's worried about the cost (fair), and of course my mom REFUSES to get a job because, and I quote, "I'm pregnant I shouldn't have to work"

so guess who decided to once again be the unappreciated hero?

so now I have to get a job (while in school and raising my sibling) and make around $4,000-$5,000 so I can pay Jay to MAYBE help us out

shocking this isn't the worst situation I've been in, maybe top 5

once my mom called the cops on my younger brothers (like 9-10 at the time)

and the cops just straight up told her to beat us

one of them even offered to do it for her

I already didn't like cops but that just cemented it, because my mom loves to tell us the cops won't believe us if we tell them how she treats us and that just confirmed it

Once, we had a police talk at my school.

The police officer in charge of giving the talk said that he liked hanging about a certain area when he wanted to catch kids who he could get in trouble.

I think that says something about the mindset of the police system.
