“My heart longs to be feasted upon; my soul yearns to be marked. Love me wholesomely until I’m numb. Love me platonically until I do not want to feel anything else except what you give me. I am exhausted to the core from watching from afar. You can make me feel something. You can make me feel nothing else.”

Okay but, the line, “When you’re sixteen going on seventeen just *waiting* for life to start,” from The Sound of Music…it really kind of applies to many adolescents youth. You’re so young, there’s things you want to do once you get out of high school, but for now you just kind of wait for your life to start and hope you don’t die before then because…not a ‘what a little life,’ but you have to reach your full potential first. Life is good, but you wait for the next chapter to start while trying to enjoy your childhood/teenage years, but you also want to know what’s next but aren’t ready for it. But it’s coming. Sooner than you think. You’re on the brink of adulthood. You want things to stay the same, but in some aspects, you yearn for a change.

Her heart was hollowed out by rough, callused hands. Crescent moon carvings were left in the organ. Under his fingernails sat little puddles of deep red blood, seeping into his skin, becoming one with his bloodstream. Her eyes were dimming as the rosy tint under her skin faded.
He mistook his love for lust, thus leading to that evenings event. As he cradled her heart in his hands, something in that confused little mind of his clicked. He never loved her. He never wanted to spend his life with her. He never cared about her in an emotional way. If he did, the thought of causing any harm to her would make him sick. That’s how he knew it was lust-not love. It was never love.
Her heart was then thrown on the ground, dirt clinging to it, hiding in every crevice. Because true love for the woman was non existent, he left her heart and corpse to rot out in the woods as he wandered home with no sense of guilt or ill feelings toward himself. He will only move onto his next victim. And the next victim will fall into his trap because she too will mistake a man’s lust for love. There are such dangers in this little game two people play. He dug out her heart because he told her he needed it. She allowed it because they were both deceived.
She thought if she gave him what he wanted, he would never leave her, that he would love her forever.
Animals and bugs find her body and feed off her. Maggots fly around her, breathing in her stench.

Writing Prompt!
I like the water - the glistening of it when the sun rises, the cold frost it becomes when snow pours down. Sighing, I dip my feet inside, the water rippling out from the impact. Just as I’m about to slide in completely, something brushes up against my feet.

Pressed Flowers
I cut myself off from my stems
I allowed myself to stop blossoming into what I was created to be
I left my roots to rot and die
I squeezed myself between the pages of your life
I left stains on the page but never sentences
No, not even a word
You took me out from between the pages and studied me
You decided that I had become too ugly to be worth your time
I put myself in that book for you
I left my flowers, my roots, my sunlight, my water
My only sources of nutrients
I did it all for you
But you decided you didn’t like pressed flowers

Writing Prompt!
I walk forward, despite myself, my feet falling on the rough soil. The world around me grows dark as the sun disappears behind a valley of clouds. My feet stop abruptly, not sure which way to turn. From behind me, I hear a noise, the crunching of twigs that can only be done by another set of feet. My heart drops.
