I love that opera sits in this limbo where it's extremely well-known but not really beyond a surface level recognition, so you get commercials for makeup or whatever to the tune of the I Hate Women So Much It's Unreal aria

Sometimes, I remember that George is currently in Santa Fe with his ancient computer, and that ancient computer has Jaime and Brienne declaring their love on it.
Makes me a bit feral that he can't just print it and post it to me tbh.

thinking about how after brienne of tarth knows the truth of jaime’s story re: the death of the mad king, she immediately pivots and starts referring to him as Ser Jaime rather than The Kingslayer (a nickname he had loathed, but embraced for years). she sees him in a different light from that point on. she understands him better, and views him as something other than a honorless oath breaker.
and then some time after he’s sent her on the quest to find and protect sansa stark, this dude red ronnet insults brienne (a thing jaime himself had done for so much of their journey south, hoping to piss her off so that she would make a mistake and he could kill her and take off) so jaime smacks him in the mouth with his golden hand and tells him to speak of her respectfully. “You are speaking of a high born lady, ser. Call her by her name. Call her Brienne.”
because while part of him still thinks she’s a naive child; full of the same idealistic views of knighthood that he had held as a boy (he’s not wrong, and she learns some lessons on her journey) but he respects her and shitbird Ronnet Connington doesn’t get to talk shit
but the reciprocation of using each others Real Names, seeing each others true selves…ugh it’s beautiful
