you’re surrounded by nothing but never ending forest. it’s dark and very misty and usually you have the stars to keep you company but tonight there’s none in sight. yet it’s a very clear, night sky.

something feels off. you want tom — no, scratch that. you need tom.

he was right in front of you, holding your hand in gentle reminder that he was still with you, as he was doing his best in leading you out of wherever you were. and then you closed your eyes and he was gone. “tom?! tommy where are you?!” you yell out into the mist. “please just, just tell me where you are and i’ll come to you” your heartbeat is speeding up with every second you don’t hear his poetic voice. you’re worried something got him — a pack of wolves, a grizzly bear, a cougar... no. no, you can’t think like that. not right now. but your mind can’t help but to jump to the worst conclusions.

you hear something rustling and you immediately do a one eighty to face the sound, your only thought being please don’t let this be the end. not until i find my tommy.

then you hear... panting?

a white dog suddenly emerges. it’s white with a little bit of brown to match it’s beautiful brown eyes. very similar to... tom’s. you bend down on your knees in front of the dog, already knowing. “you gonna lead me to tom?” you ask in the softest voice you can muster up from being so afraid. with a wag of the dog’s tail and a bark it begins walking away from you.

and you follow.

“where are you leading me?” right about now is when you wish you could talk to animals. you’re walking for a couple minutes and you get more and more concerned with every footstep you take. the dog starts barking repeatedly as it runs ahead of you. “slow down, pup!” you focus on keeping up, trying not to lose sight or think about the possibility of tripping. finally, you’re out of the thick forest and into a small opening. and that’s when you see the dog, still barking and standing next to someone.

that someone is tom, you’re boyfriend.

“oh my god, tom!” you rush over to him as quickly as possible and kneel down next to him. he’s bruised up and bleeding pretty badly. you gently put your cold palm on tom’s cheek, not caring if you get anything on it. “tom? tom, it’s me. are you awake? tom?” no response. this time you try shaking him awake gently. “tom! tom, please wake up. i-i need you- please...” still no response.

you look over and see that the dog is gone and that it’s just you and tom in his horrible state, surrounded by a forest of unfamiliarity. you rest your head on his shoulder and begin sobbing. you just want tom back.

“y/n”

you keep sobbing.

“y/n”

you jolt awake and sit up. you’re still sobbing your heart out but something feels different about the atmosphere. you’re in your room; not a dark forest; underneath your cozy blankets; not sat on the hard ground; and there’s a gentle, reassuring hand stroking up and down your back so gently; it’s tom. you were just dreaming.

you turn to look at him, “oh tom, you’re okay” you immediately lean over and take him into your arms. you breathe in his calming scent of cologne as his arms feel like home around your upset figure. he chuckles softly, “of course i’m okay, baby. you were just having a really bad dream” he speaks so softly and you can genuinely say that you’ve missed his voice that creates butterflies with however long you were asleep for. “y-you were gone, you left me alone. a-and then, and-”

“shh, lovie,” tom presses gentle, loving kisses to the side of your neck. “‘m right here, ‘nd ‘m not leaving you. not now, not ever. i promise you” you nod against his shoulder, your heartbreaking sobs finally coming to a stop. “how about i make you some tea?”

“tom, it’s like,” you glance up at your bedside clock. “three in the morning” you giggle tiredly. “i know, but anything to get my love all cozy again” you smile softly to yourself. tom really is the best boyfriend you could’ve ever asked for. “mm, okay... can we just stay like this for a bit longer?”

“for as long as you want, my darling”

yeah, you really did have the best boyfriend in the world.

ohmy- this was an absolute masterpiece to read !! 🥺💕 all of the descriptions were beautifully written. AND THE FLOWWW. yea yea yea. not to mention that how the characters are so well written LIKE PETER !1!1!1 ahhh i love how much work you put into his emotions.

according to plan – chapter three

summary → a peter parker au based off the lovely movie ‘corpse bride.’ to be wed to a girl he’s never met before, things take a turn for peter when nerves get the best of him. so, what happens when he decides practice his vows in an unfamiliar place? will he make a huge sacrifice to become one with the remains of the day? or, will he remain in the land of the living with his one true love?
