Honourable priest of the largest temple in the western outback. Known for his outstanding size and even grander knowledge of artefacts. Currently, the main thing on his mind is the group of six conmen, heretics, and fools that have been charged with ridding the area of evil.

His temple, as with a great many in the region, venerate the demigod hero who slew an ancient mage and, through his strength, ascended to godhood. It is said that when evil rises again the hero will return from his divine seat to reshape the mortal world.

ICONpendium is OUT!

I've gone and released a web-tool for ICON 1.5, so people can easily reference content and even select their character choices so they can have it all compiled in one page!

Instead of "rule of cool" (ignoring the rules-mediated outcomes in favor of an outcome the table agrees is cooler) I think there should be more "cool rules" (rules that produce cool outcomes as is)

ICON Ttrpg Miniature Models

I made minis for the players in my ICON game to be 3D printed soon! Check out the Lore for them under the cut.

Planning on having a mini-painting night together, I'll try and get some goods pics of them once they're done! (Play ICON)

Starting from left to right we have:

BROCK (Broker Xixo Fool): Silver-tongued (metaphorically, being a crab) and quick with both his words and his mouth, the xixo found his way to the outskirts of the world in search of a new grift and his coveted Snake Oil, something he believes to be an alchemical miracle drug.

CHAD (Brave Thrynn (?) Stormbender): Lover of surf, women, and men, Chad's connection to the sea has granted him a natural power over water - more about power than finesse he can strike an enemy with just his muscles (as in, his muscles can summon shards of ice).

MYRA (Seeker Thrynn Demon Slayer): Prostitute turned nun turned mighty warrior, a sword the size of one's body is just as useful as her strategic mind. A member of a secret religion, she worships and attempts to convert others to a psionic god - lord of dreams and vision.

SAMBOK (Mighty Trogg Colossus): Once a simple farmer, this life was not to be for the grandson of a conqueror. A wall of emotions and physical endurance alike, this unfortunate hero is at least able to channel the might of his grandfather's spirit, who haunts him at every turn.

SIR (Elder Trogg (?) Harvester): Millennia ago, he held impossible arcane secrets. A dark lord of his day, this was ended when a might warrior came to finally slay his fiend. However, the arcane masters rarely lie forever. Now he has returned, perhaps to forge a new path as he regains his strength.

SURGEO (Mender Automaton Seer): A medical marvel, Surgeo is a mechanical doctor adept at all things biological. After suffering at the hands of fate one too many times he became more metaphysical studies, aiming to help people as best he can all while the mysteries of his life tug at the back of his mind.

My entrant for the Smogon CAP 33 design, with the prompt being a fast but bulky water/fairy type!

Here we see a swarm of little fairy shrimp in the shape of a whale (predator of shrimp), filled with light that shines from the inside of the shoal.

While this guy didn't make it, I'm a big fan of the winning entrant so go take a peek over on the smogon forums.

Where did you learn to draw the pokemon pixel art style so well? Do you know any video tutorials, or could you do a small post with the techniques you use? If not, that's okay

I can assure you this post Will Not Be Small.

My interest in spriting started in I want to say 2012 or 2013 when I started binge watching pokemon fusion videos. mostly from creators like SuperSonicGX

Back In My Day we called completely original sprites scratch sprites, I still use that terminology and get confused when people don't these days. But that's just a side note. for resources and general tips I do have plenty!

this scorpion means everything to me.

When spriting in any style the first, most important rule is learning what limits you have. color, size, even specific palettes for some games.

For the first two generation pokemon games you had three separate sprite sizes, 40x40, 48x48, and 56x56, as seen here.

along side this requirement, these sprites also had four colors

white, also used for the background, black, a light tone, and a dark tone as seen with our friend Kingler here

the big rules to follow with spriting are remember to use space efficiently. Sometimes the whole canvas isn't needed to get the point of a sprite across!

techniques I personally use for spriting are used mostly during the sketching stage.

Such as blobbing in a silhouette and then filling it with rough color to get an idea of what to do, as seen here

helps immensely with the spriting process and means you can get sketches out very quickly.

I do want to make my own soft tutorials eventually, just timelapses to show off the process. But hopefully all this as is helps!
