의심이 왕창 들었지만 지도를 따라 걸어본다! I walk and follow the map even thought I really doubt it!  

BBOLLOCK “신호를 건너라! Pass the crossroad!”

BOM CARROT “건넜다! I passed!”

BBOLLOCK “빨간 우체통이 보이면 오른쪽 방향으로 가라! Turn to the right if you see the red postbox”

BOM CARROT “보인다! 오른쪽으로 간다! I see! I go to the right!”

지렁이처럼 적어줘서 헷갈렸던 North Lonsdale road 길도 찾았다! 볼록!

I found the road called “North Lonsdale” which was confusing to read cos you wrote like a worm! Mr. BBollock!

꽤 중요해 보이지만 지도에는 없는 분홍색 집도 찾았다! And I found a pink house which looks quite important but it is not on this map! 볼록! Mr. BBollock!

오! ‘카부츠세일’! 보물지도의 보물은 영국 벼룩시장, 카부츠세일이었다!

Oh! ‘Carboot sale’! Treasure of map is a British flea market, Carboot sale!

근데 카부츠세일이 열리는 장소가 ��� 특이하다! ‘킁킁’ 시골 냄새도 난다! By the way isn’t here bit strange for Carboot? ‘Sniff’… Smells like country side too!

이곳은 평소 때는 마구간으로 쓰다가 일요일 하루는 벼룩시장이 열리는 곳으로 사용한다고 한다! Normally this place is horse house and it  is changed to flea market every Sunday! 

오! 대단한대! 볼록! Oh! It is very cool! Mr BBollock!

난생 처음 본 마구간 찻집! The horse house cafe I’ve never seen this before!

낡은 자동차와 장난감! Old cars and toys!

집에서 직접 만들어 온 여러가지의 파이들! Several home made pies!

마구간 밖에는 보통의 카부츠세일이 열리고 있었다! There was a general carboot sale outside of the horse house!

봄캐롯의 보물보물! 할머니께서 판매하시던 크고, 작고, 작고, 큰 달걀! 아주아주 싱싱하다고 백번 말씀하셨다! Bom Carrot’s treasure! Big and small and small and big eggs that an old woman sold! She told me a hundred times that they are so so so fresh!   

또 다른 보물은 텃밭에서 노부부가 농사지은 당근! 

Another treasure was this carrot that an old couple farmed at their allotment!

<우리도 도토리를 먹는다! : We eat Acorn too!>

 -Korean Bom Carrot’s secret recipe! How to cook Acorns!                              한국인 봄캐롯의 비밀비밀 레시피! 도토리를 요리하는 방법!

도토리는 다람쥐만 먹는 거라고? Only suirrels eat acorns, right?

그게 무슨 말이야? What are you talking about?

도토리가 얼마나 맛있는데? How delicious are acorns?

봄캐롯의 영국 친구들은 도토리는 다람쥐만 먹는 걸로 알고 있대! Bom Carrot’s British friends think only Squirrel can eats acorn!

이번에 도토리 맛을 모르는 영국 친구들에게 봄캐롯이 도토리 맛을 선물해야겠어! This time. Bom Carrot gave a present of ‘Taste of Acorn’ to my British friends who didn’t know the taste of Acorn!

자~ 자~! 친구들아. 봐봐. 이건 내가 한국에서 데려온 ‘도토리 가루’로 쑨 도토리 묵이야. Hey~ Hey~! My friends. Look at this. It is a ‘DOTORI(Acorn) MUK’ made with Acorn powder that came from South Korea.

+ 도토리 묵 DOTORI MUK : 

1/ Add 1 cup of acorn power and 6~7 cup of water in pot. 2/ Boil them and stir it only clockwise till it becomes a thick texture.  3/ When it is thick, (not runny), then put it in any glass bowl or pot. 4/ Leave 3 hours at room temperature and then put it in refrigerator for 2-3 hours more. 5/ You can eat Mix with salad and Korean sauce or soy sauce. You can even eat it like a noodle! Warm noodle or cold noodle! Either way! 

다 만들어진 도토리 묵을 ���러가지 알록 달록 야채랑 비밀 소스를 넣어 비벼 먹으면 정말 맛있어! 이 아름다운 요리의 이름은! ‘도토리 묵 무침’!

Mixed colourful vegetables and secret sauce well with Dotori muk is really delicious! This beautiful dishes name is ‘DOTORIMUK MU-CHIM’!

< 봄캐롯! ‘감자 부자’ 되다! : Bom Carrot! Becomes ‘Potato Rich’! >

‘감자에 싹이 났다! 잎이 났다! 묵, 찌, 빠!’

'Potatoes sprouted! The leaves grew! Rock! Scissors! Paper!’

이것은 ‘가위, 바위, 보’를 하기 전에 외우는 마법의 노래다! 

There is a magic song that we sing before ‘Paper, Scissors, Rock’.

한번도 감자의 싹과 잎이 나는 것과 ‘가위, 바위, 보’와 관계를 진지하게 생각해 본 적 없었는데 지금 생각해보니! 

I never think seriously about the relationship between potatoes sprouting green leaves and ‘Paper, Scissors, Rock’. But now I am thinking about it! 

아마도 ‘감자’는 ‘주먹’ 모양이고, ‘감자의 싹’은 ‘가위’ 모양이고, ‘감자의 잎사귀’는 ‘빠’ 모양하고 비슷해서 그렇게 불렀던 것 같다!

Maybe ‘Potato’ is similar to ‘Rock’ and ‘Potatoes sprout’ is similar to ‘Scissors’, ‘Potatoes leaves’ are similar to ‘Paper’. So, we sang like that!

엄마야. 소름! Oh my goosebumps!

자. 자! Ja. Ja!

‘가위, 바위, 보’ 얘기는 그만하고! Stop talking about ‘Paper, Scissors, Rock’!  진짜 감자를 만나러 가보자! Go and meet REAL POTATOES!

설마... 설마...! 이 우울해 보이는 파란 화분이 감자의 집인가 싶었지만! 

우리가 길을 헤맬까봐 ‘감자 아저씨’가 마중나와 계셨어!

No way... You cannot be ...! It made us confused! Is this gloomy blue pot a Potatoes House not!

The 'Potato Uncle' was waiting for us wandering in the road!

감자 아저씨 : “봄캐롯아! 감자네 집에 온 것을 환영해! 오늘 감자 식구들 모두 모두 만나고, 즐겁게 놀다가!”

Potato Uncle : “Bom Carrot! Welcome to visit Potato’s home! Meet all of the Potato family and have a jolly day today!”

봄캐롯 : “좋아요! 친절한 감자 아저씨!” “I will! Friendly potato uncle!”

감자 아저씨네서 처음으로 인사 나온 식구는 ‘홀딱 벗은 달팽이’였어.

This was ‘Naked snail’ who came to say hello to me in the Potato’s home.

두번째 식구는 ‘지렁이’! 

Second family was ‘Earth worm’!

그리고 세번째! 기다리고 기다리던 감자! 감자 감자!

And for the third! Potato for whom I waited and waited! Potato potato!

달팽이! Snail!

안테나가 달린 외계인 감자! Alien potato has an Antenna!

어쩌면 초능력을 갖고 있는 감자인지도 몰라! Maybe it might be a potato who has supernatural power!

“하하하!” “Ha ha ha”

 봄캐롯을 보고 웃어주는 즐거운 감자 식구들! Jolly potatoes family smiled at Bom Carrot!

♩월요일엔 월급을 타고, Get salary on Monday,

♩ 화요일엔 화장을 하고, Make up on Tuesday,

♩ 수요일엔 수영을 하고, Swim on Wednesday,

♩ 목요일엔 목욕을 하고, Take a bath on Thursday,

♩ 금요일엔 금반지끼고, Wear a gold ring on Friday,

♩ 토요일엔 토끼 사냥, Hunting rabbit on Saturday,

♩ 일요일엔 일기를 쓰고, Write a diary on Sunday,

♩ 월, 화, 수, 목, 금, 토, 일! 아이~참! 재미있다! 

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday! Wow! It is fun!  ♩

어렸을 때 친구들과 많이 흥얼거렸던 노래다. It was a song that my friend and I sing a lot when I was a child.

제목이 뭐였는지 정확히 생각나진 않지만, 확실한 건 오늘부터 ‘월요일’은 ‘월요일 마켓에 가고’로 고쳐 불러야겠다!

I don’t remember exactly what the title was, but I’m sure from today I need to sing for “Monday” is “Go to the Monday market!”

영국 마켓에 꽃이 빠질 순 없지. It is impossible to have a market in the UK without flowers.

맛있는 치즈, 잼! Delicious cheeses & jams! 

그리고 이것 저것! And this and that!

카펫과 담요, 커튼, 옷들! Carpet, Blanket, Curtain, Clothing! 

우리 할아버지가 시내 입고 나가시면 좋을 멋쟁이 스타일의 외투도 있군요~!

There is a coat which it would be look cool if my grandfather wears it when he goes to city~!

그리고 여기! 여기를 보세요! 봄캐롯이 월요일 마켓을 손꼽아 기다리는 이유! 채소 가게 아줌마와 인사하기!

 그리고 일주일 동안 먹을 신선한 과일들과 채소들 사기!

And buy fresh fruits and vegetables for one week!

배추! 월요일에 만날 수 있는 나의 사랑 배추를 데리고 와서 맛있는 김치 만들기!

Bae-chu : Chinese leaf! I love Baechu! I can only meet it on Monday and buy and make Kimchi! 

김치 없이 못 살아♩ 정말 못 살아 ♩  I can’t live without Kimchi ♩ Really I can’t ♩

그럼 봄캐롯은 서둘러서 집에 가보렵니다! 

Then Bom Carrot will go to hurry home! 

후딱 집에 가서 ‘월요일 마켓’에서 산 배추로 김치 맛있게 만들어서 따끈한 밥이랑 같이 먹어야 하니까요!

Because I need to go back home as soon as possible to make Kimchi from Monday market Baechu and eat with just cooked hot rice!

영국의 여름은 왜 여름이라고 불리는 걸까? Why is British summer called Summer? 

비, 바람, 비, 바람, 비, 비, 비, 구름인 이곳에 오늘은 정말 여름같은 여름이 왔다.

Today Summer as real  as Summer arrives here where it is always rain, windy, rain, windy, rain, rain, rain!

진짜 여름이 온 기념으로 여름 커피를 마셔보겠다! I will enjoy drinking coffee to celebrate the real summer weather coming! 

바닷가 마을 ‘플릿우드’의 흔하지 않고도, 다정카페. Friendly  and unusual cafe in Fleetwood seaside town.

아주머니께서 묻지도 따지지도 않고, 쿨하게 밀크커피를 주셨다! 

하지만 묻지도 따지지도 않고, 종이잔이 아닌 머그잔에 담아주신 다정함에 다시 한번 이곳이 ‘여름 커피’를 위한 안성맞춤 카페임을 알았다!

She served me milk coffee without asking! 

But The friendless that she served coffee in a Mug instead of paper cup made me realise that it is a perfect cafe for the ‘Summer coffee’ once again!

바다 옆에 작은 마을. ‘플릿우드’에 오래된 마켓이 있다는데 ‘전통시장 가기’ 취미가 있는 봄캐롯이 꼭 가봐야 하지 않겠나요?

A small town next to the sea. I heard that there is an old market in ‘Fleetwood’. Bom Carrot should have to go the market! Who has a hobby to go to ‘Traditional Market’?

플릿우드 마켓은 사탕, 초콜렛, 젤리 천국이었어요! The Fleetwood Market was a Candy, Chocolate, Jelly heaven!

워크샵도 운영되고 있었어요! There was a workshop as well!

다양한 종류의 워크샵이 많이 진행되고 있으니 위에 운영표를 참고해서 방문하면 좋겠네요! There are many different types of workshop you can join, so It would be nice to check the above program and visit there!

빅 사이즈 옷들을 위한 특별 마네킹. ‘왕 곰돌이’!

<봄캐롯! 새로운 영웅을 만나다! : Bom Carrot! Meet her new hero!>

친구들아! 이 할아버지 되게 반짝이지?

Oh my buddies! Isn’t this old man very shiny?

근데 이 할아버지의 공연은 훨씬 더 많이 반짝였어!

But his performance was more shiny!

그리고 이 할아버지의 노랫말은 훨씬 더 더 많이 반짝였어!

<봄캐롯! 영국 전통술 ‘사이다’ 만들기 도전하다! : Bom Carrot! Challenge to make Traditional British Booze Cider!> 2017

♩ 사과같은 내 얼굴. 예쁘기도 하지요. 

눈도 반짝, 코도 반짝, 입도 반짝 반짝!  ♩ ♩ ♩ ♩ ♩

“My face like an apple. It's pretty. Shiny eyes, shiny nose, shiny mouth shiny!”  ♩ ♩ 

봄캐롯! ‘사과같은 내 얼굴’ 한국 동요를 들으며 영국 사이다 만들기에 도전해본다! Bom Carrot! She challenged herself and her UK friends to make British Cider and listened to ‘My face like an apple’, a Korean children song!

짠! 캉쿠네 사과! Ta-da! Kangcoo’s apple!

이 작고 예쁜 사과가 오늘 사이다의 주인공인가요?! Is this pretty and small apple today’s cider hero?!

아니요! Noooooo!

캉구네 사과는 아직 아기사과라서 사이다로 만들지 못해요. Kangcoo’s apple is still baby so we can not use it to make cider. 

그대신 잘 익은 사과 시럽을 준비했어요! But we prepared well ripe apple syrup instead. 

조금 아쉽긴 하지만, 봄캐롯의 ‘첫 번째 영국 사이다 만들기’는 문제없이 진행할 수 있게 되었어요! It is a bit of a shame but we still can make the ‘Bom Carrot’s first British cider’!

캉쿠의 사과가 맛있는 어른 사과로 자라길 바라며! 사이다 만들기 시작! Start to make cider with the wish that Kangcoo’s apple grows to be a delicious apple!

아! 설탕! 사이다 만들기 재료로는 위에 사과 시럽1, 2 그리고 이스트와 설탕이 필요합니다! Ah! Sugar! We need syrup 1 ,2 and yeast and sugar for making cider!

먼저, 깨끗히 사이다 물통 닦기! First, Clean the cider bucket!

그리고 설탕 600g을 넣어주세요! And put 600g of sugar in this bucket!

그리고 준비한 사과 시럽을 넣어주세요! And then put the apple syrup that we prepared in it!

팔팔 끓는 물을 넣고 저어주세요. Put boiling water and stir it please. 

뜨거운 물을 꽤 많이 넣어줬던 것 같은데... 정확히 얼마나 넣었는지 잘 생각나지 않아요. 미안해요.. I think I put quite lot of hot water in here... But I can not remember how much I put in here exactly. I am sorry.

하지만 찬물은 얼마나 넣어줬는지 정확히 기억해요. 물통에 적힌 숫자 5까지 넣어주었어요! 엄마야! 엄청 많은 사이다에요! 많은 사이다, 좋아요!

But I remember well how much cold water I put in here. I put five gallons in there! Ohmaya! That’s a lot of cider! I like it!

자자! 거의 다 완성 되었어요! 샤워할 때마다 똥 눌 때마다 사이다가 쳐다보면 부끄러울테니까 다른 방으로 갑시다!  

 Ja Ja! It is near done! Let’s move to the other room because it will be shy if cider watch you whenever you go to shower or have a poo!  

이 작은 유리관에 만든 사이다를 넣어볼까요? 유리관 속 작은 막대기도 넣어주세요. 작은 막대기가 붕하고 떠올랐어요! 작은 막대기가 가르키는 곳이 사이다의 ‘알콜 도수’래요.

Shall we put cider in this glass tube? Put little stick in the glass tube too please. Little stick floated up! It is the ‘alcohol degree’ to which is the little stick is pointing.

그 다음! 발효 발효 발효! 막걸리처럼 맥주처럼 소주처럼 사이다도 발효가 중요하죠! 이스트를 넣어줍니다!

오늘은 무얼 먹지? What can we eat today?

피자 어때? How about Pizza?

                                   피자 조조조좋지! Pizza Supppppper cool!

그럼 오늘은 피자 대회다! Then today is the pizza competition!

 1. 봄캐롯의 피자

봄캐롯은 김치 양념을 기본으로 하고, 여러가지 야채를 골고루 넣어주었어요. 김치양념을 피자에 넣다니, 봄캐롯의 상상력에 박수를 주고 싶어요! 

Bom Carrot made pizza based ‘Kimchi sauce’ and put many different vegetables. Kimchi sauce in pizza, I would like to applaud Bom Carrot’s imagination!

2. 슈퍼보드레옹의 피자. Super Bodreong’s pizza.

슈퍼보드레옹은 야채로 파자의 얼굴을 만들어 주었어요. 그런데 피자의 얼굴이 심술궂어 보여요. 심술난 얼굴의 피자가 맛있는 피자일리 없어요!

Super Bodreong made face on pizza used vegetable. But pizza’s face looks nasty. Nasty face pizza won’t be delicious!

3. 케이티의 피자. Katy’s pizza.

케이티는 닭고기와 베이컨의 환상적인 조화의 피자를 만들었어요. 그런데 케이티는 양파가 싫대요. 피자 속 양파의 맛이 얼마나 맛있는데요?

Katy made wonderful combination pizza with chicken and bacon. But she doesn’t like onion. How so delicious onion taste in pizza?

4. 캉쿠의 피자. Kangcoo’s pizza.

캉쿠의 피자는 조금 이상해보여요. 보통 피자 위에 치즈가 골고루 덮혀져 있어야 하는데, 캉쿠의 피자는 치즈없이 발가벗고 있어요. 캉쿠의 피자에 치즈가 왜 없냐구요? 

캉쿠는 우주의 모든 생명들을 정말정말 사랑하는 ‘비건’이기 때문이에요. 캉쿠의 아름다운 마음을 알겠지만, 치즈없는 피자는 피자로 인정할 수 없어요! 

Kangcoo’s pizza looks a bit weird. Generally cheese has to cover pizza but his pizza is naked! Why there is no cheese in Kangcoo's pizza?

Because Kangcoo is ‘Vegan’ whose loves very much all the creatures in tha universe. I know his beautiful heart but I can not accept this pizza is real pizza when it has no cheese.

맛있는 피자 네개가 완성됐어요. 하지만 우리는 누구의 피자가 최고로 맛있는 피자인지 확인하지 못했어요. 

캉쿠는 ‘비건’이고, 슈퍼보드레옹과 봄캐롯은 ‘조금 채식주의자’이고, 케이티는 양파를 싫어하기 때문이에요.

There are four delicious four pizzas ready. But we couldn’t check which is the best pizza. 

Because Kangcoo is ‘Vegan’ and Super bodreong and Bom Carrot are ‘Little Vegetarian’, Katy doesn’t like onion.

하지만 저는 오늘의 피자왕을 알 수 ��을 것 같아요!

But I think I know who is Today’s Pizza Champion!

<봄캐롯! 이베이에서 보물 찾기! : Bom Carrot! Hunts a treasure from Ebay!>

한국에서는 이베이를 많이 이용하지 않지만, 영국 친구들은 이베이를 통해 많은 것들을 사고 팔고 있었다.

We don’t really use Ebay in South Korea, but British friends sell and buy many stuffs through Ebay.

이베이가 궁금한 봄캐롯은 매일같이 그 곳을 방문하였고, 이베이는 빠져나올 수 없는 ‘보물창고 늪’이라는 것을 알게 되었다.

Bom Carrot was curious about Ebay and she visited there everyday and she realised that Ebay is a ‘treasure warehouse morass’ where, once entered, you can’t get out of there!

무시무시하고도 황홀한 이베이 늪에서 찾은 70년대 빈티지 드레스가 도착하였다.  It arrived! A 70s vintage dress which I found in the fearsome and wonderful morass of ebay.

이제 제대로 여름도 온 것 같고, ‘스크랍스 앤 피웻’의 새로운 친구도 도착한 것 같아! It seems perfect summer weather has arrived and a new friend of ‘Scraps and peawet’ too!

그래. 안녕! 너는 입술 부자구나! Yes. Hello! You are lips rich!

알록 달록 만두에서 맛있는 냄새가 난다! Smell so delicious from your colourful two buns!

                                                         고마워! 한 입 먹어봐도 돼! Thank you! You can have one bite if you like!

정말? 너는 정말 친절하구나! Really? You are so kind!

너는 자두를 좋아하는 구나?! You like plum?!

                                                            응. 매일 두개씩 먹어! Yes. I eat two every day!

자두...! 맛있지. 달고, 시고, 여름 맛이지! Plum...! It is delicious. sweet, sour, just like summer taste!

                                       응. 맞아! 여름맛! Yes. That’s right! Summer taste!

 어! 자두가! 자두가! 초록색 아기 자두가 열렸어! Uh! Plum! Plum! Green baby plum comes!

                                    오! 신난다! oh! super cool!

                          신난다! 신난다! 신난다! 자두가 내 머리 위에 열렸다! 대롱대롱!

I am so happy! Excited! Super cool! The plum is appears on my head!  dingle-dangle!

자두야! 자두야! 자두야! 나랑 같이 춤을 추자! 

Plum! plum! plum! Let’s dance together!

                           좋아. 좋아! 너랑 함께 대롱대롱 춤출게!

I smell tomatoes because I give water to tomatoes, and I give water to peppers and smell peppers!? You are so amazing!

정말 너네 멋지다! Really you guys so cool!

매일 매일 올래! 캉쿠의 ‘와이트홈’ 텃밭! 캉쿠가 왜 '와이트홈’ 텃밭을 사랑하는 지 이제 알겠어! 너네 정말 대단해~! I would like to come here every everyday! Now I know why Kancoo loves this farm very much! You are so amazing~!

오늘 저녁은 캉쿠의 텃밭에서 가져온 ‘건강한 야채’들로 만든 김치 겉절이’다! 

The Kimchi salad made with Kancoo’s ‘Health vegetables’ will be for the tonight tea!

이른 아침이었어. 오늘 아침에 비가 많이 왔었잖아. 그 아이는 비와 함께 나를 찾아왔어. It was early in the morning. It was big rain, as you know, in the morning. The boy came to me with the rain.                                                                     

                                                               똑 똑 똑. Knock knock knock.                누구세요? Who are you?                                                                                                                                                                                   나야. It is me.           나는 망설임없이 문을 열어주었어.  I opened the door without any second thought.

‘아! 너는 꽃분홍색 선인장 머리를 하고 있구나’ ‘Ah! You have pink colour flower of cactus hair’

눈이라고 생각했던 너의 입으로 “안녕!”이라고 말했어. You said “Hello!” with your mouth which I thought was your eyes!   

넓은 이마라고 생각했던 곳에서 반짝이는 눈들이 하나 둘 셋 깜박였지. One, two, three twinkle eyes blinked on what I actually thought was your wide forehead!

너의 코 하나. Your nose one.                                                                                 너의 코 두개. Your nose two.                                                                               파란 콧구멍 네개는 너가 Planet X에서 왔다는 걸 증명하지.                                 The four blue nose holes are proof that you came from planet X.

나는 아주 잘 알고 있어. I know very well.

                                                                    오. Oh.

 너는 마늘을 정말 많이 좋아해. 맞지?  You really like Garlic. Don’t you?   

         오! 너는 나를 정말로 알고 있니?  Oh! Do you really know me?

너는 쑥스러운 지, 너의 볼에 파랗고 빨간 불이 들어오고, 너의 코에 알록달록 꽃을 피었어. Red and blue light up on your cheek, blooming party coloured flowers, might be the reason you felt shy?

                            너는 정말 나를 기억하고 있구나!  You really remember me!

그럼! 당연히 알고 있지! Of course! I remember you well!  

참. 먼저 온 친구도 있어! Ah. There is a friend who came earlier!

다시 만나게 되서 반가워! 꿈 속에서만 만났던  ‘스크랍스 앤 피웻’의 두번째 친구!  I am happy to see you again! ‘Scraps and Peawet’s second friend who I can only meet in my dreams! 

선인장 꽃을 피워라! 빨 주 노 초 파 남 보! 엉덩이를 ���들자!                                   Blooms the cactus flower! Red orange yellow green blue indigo purple! Let’s shake arse!

좋아! 좋아! 엄청 좋아! 꽃을 피울래! 엉덩이를 흔들래!                                            I like it! I like it! I like it very much! I will bloom the flowers! I will shake my arse!

온 세상을 흔들자! 엉덩이를 흔들자! Let’s shake the whole world! Let’s shake arse! 

엉덩이를 흔들다보면 온 세상이 꽃 향기로 넘쳐나고, 모두가 엉덩이를 흔드는 그 날이 올꺼야!  The world will be come if we shake our arse, full of flower smell! Everyone shake their arses!
