How does Wren feel about being picked up and carried by Ennis?

And vice versa, what are Ennis’s thoughts on it?

LOOOOL 👏👏👏 Wren HATED it at first 😂 slapping at his fingers and refusing the help when genuinely needing that extra help, (at the time, she had trouble moving around). Ennis would just grab her in frustration when she was being too stubborn to accept his help at the time.

Ennis was a little creeped out when he first picked Wren up. Getting the heebie-jeebies when the reality hits that he is carrying a human and that human being Wren of all people. And him just so tired of Wren being, well, Wren HAHA “why are you the way that you are. Why do you insist on being the most difficult being in all the isles?? Would you sToP wriggling in my HaNDs?? You feel GrOsS????”

later though, when they trust and care about each other, it’s an entire 180 for them LOL

Wren sees the benefits and requires the quicker transportation at all times for all things lol. Also likes the closeness to the only person she trusts in life. Feels like the safest place she can be.

Ennis can be clingy so this works for him. Always worried that people will abandon him when he doesn’t please, like his family did, except when it comes to Wren. Cause boi did they fight before but Wren never left so it’s like ‘oh good, don’t have to worry about this one leaving’ but the insecurity bubbles up every now and then when they are on good terms. So that closeness helps combat that.

they also force ‘nap time’ upon each other lol when one is overworked and can’t function but still trying to push through, the other does something that makes them have to stop long enough for sleep to just take them lol

what Ennis does to Wren is easy, just picking her up and pocketing her. She will be out like a light barely 60 seconds later 😂

getting Ennis to stop is a little harder, but Wren runs up to him and places a hand against him and lets him feel a wave of relaxation magic waft over him. It won’t take long for him to wander over to his cot and just fall into it but sometimes he doesn’t make it and just lays on the ground or just slumps over his desk, wherever she blasts him with that magic LOL

Any fun facts and Wren and Ennius

lets see, trying to think of anything I haven’t said here yet 🤔

Ennis was disowned for wanting to not follow the family profession. So Neal Ennis isn’t his actual name, he changed it. He was disowned after he packed up a bag and left for schooling. It was a blow to him obviously cause he loved his family, but felt this is his occupation to aspire to. So he just buried his head deep into his studies to the point where it become significantly unhealthy. Rarely sleeping, barely eating. Any break from academics caused his brain to think about what happened with his family and he just couldn’t handle it. These years at school and the stress build up with no relief is what ends up snapping and triggering his chronic stress illness.

Wren’s life was chill for the most part until a health issue began affecting her mother. She went right to the books to study all she could, specializing in herbs and home remedies and gentle healing magics at the time. She was able to keep her mother healthy and stable until her aunt with money to spare sent a doctor over. Let’s just say this doctor was a doofus, full of himself and believed he knew best. He forbade the use of home remedies and put the mother under constant watch from his nurses. Wren was stuck watching from the sidelines and seeing her mother deteriorating again. She fought with everything she had to get to her mother and help her but too little too late was done and her mother passed. This was the moment that causes Wren to begin passing as a man and taking over the medical world, by force, as the years went by.

Ennis and Wren end up becoming so close that when they are both resting at the same time, they end up resting together lol Ennis likes to sleep on his stomach so Wren just curls up on the small of his back. Tis cozy lol

i DONT think I went into detail here so I will now heh~

Ennis has a stress condition. When his stress flares up, the magic imbued with his blood reacts and causes his skin to feel like it’s on fire and look like it’s cracked with lightning. It’s excruciating and his stress levels are difficult to control. The more stressed he is the more pain he is in and the longer it takes for the episode to fade away again. It can sometimes result in seizing but those are for the particularly bad episodes. After 80% of the episodes he bleeds from his right eye and coughs blood for about a few days after and then returns to decent health again until the next episode. His race are not known to have magic so the fact there is even magic merged with his blood is an anomaly, absolutely baffling. He didn’t know this was the work of magic until Wren deduces as such since she is well versed in the stuff. But why it’s with Ennis like this, why does it react so poorly and why can’t it be removed are Wren’s initial questions

What was Wren’s reaction to first seeing Ennis’s condition?

it was certainly unnerving for Wren to see him like this. His usual straightened, and pulled back shoulders, solid and annoying way of holding himself, would then be replaced with a curled up in a crumpled ball and trembling on the ground. Complete 180

then the worry, cause Wren had never seen anything like this before and Ennis either. He still couldn’t figure out how to cure himself from this. So that fear of the ‘unknown and alien’ was deep in their hearts as well.

they were still on, ‘I’m not sure about you’ terms when Wren first sees this condition Ennis has. But this also softens her heart toward him a smidge. Realizing that the annoying smug cockiness that would be directed at her was actually one of his ways of hiding that illness and struggle he has. But also at the time, that smug arrogance, was there to purposely piss Wren off as well LOL

Do Ennis and Wren ever help each other out with medical stuff

oh yes! Absolutely! Even in the beginning when they hated each other, they would spot the other trying to use certain methods that only work on their own race, on the opposite race. That would obviously be a problem and the other would barge in and reprimand the other and take over.

when they are on better terms they are more willing to ask when they don’t know what the patient of the opposite race needs. They are finally able to teach each other and learn about the opposite race, how their bodies work, how they differ, and able to help more.

Ennis obviously has to be more careful and delicate when working on smaller race patients, there are things he simply cannot do to help because of his size and that same reality goes to Wren also. Sometimes a problem being too big for her to handle alone. Then on the other side of the coin, they excel and have an advantage in some cases as well.

it’s my first dnd character Elios in the hand of Ennis. I got to pull Elios out again for a one shot and it was nice so I had to draw him with my current lad Ennis~

It’s ridiculous how similar Elios is to Astarion even the hair omguh Elios was around firrssttt Long before Astarion was announced Pff 🤣

How are Wren and Ennis with physical contact with each other?

Before and after they grow to be more friendly?

EEYYYY!!

Before, it’s was MAJOR ‘don’t EFFIN touch me’ vibes. Ennis was significantly more forgiving if Wren accidentally bumped into him, but Wren? Not so much. And honestly understandable lol This giant dude who pisses you off every moment of everyday accidentally bumps you with his hand (when reaching for something without looking cause he is not used to needing to look) and knocks you over, the rage would be palpable lol

Later when they are friendly, they can’t get off of each other 😂 Both of them have ‘physical touch’ high up in their love language charts and it’s how they tend affirm and comfort each other. Touching foreheads is a big one when Ennis is having a health episode and needs help grounding. Wren hugs or just places a hand on his hand when she is letting him know she needs him right now, it’s like her saying, please just be with me for a moment. They tend to just be with each other in silence not needing to say much at all during those times when the words won’t come.

What's Ennis and Wren's daily dynamic like and does it change when the start to become more friendly with each other

when it comes to their dynamic, before the friendship, they were extremely nitpicky about the other, in each other’s ways, impatient, bickering at all times. Tensions overall extremely high. To the point that they feel their time assigned to work with each other feels like a jail sentence/punishment. Once they start seeing each other in better lights the bickering is still present but it’s more lighthearted and more of a shared banter and exchanging of wit. They now know of each other’s secrets by this point and now offer comfort and understanding towards the other when they need it. ;; but the teasing! the teasing is very strong 💪 with these two lol Going from offending each other to genuine light hearted innocent teasing~
