What can I tell you? I loved this book, it was great until the final part where everything turned into a roller coaster and I was just so freaking immersed into this story and its wonderful characters, I was truly terrified of where they could end, but it was still so good even if it broke my heart into a million pieces. Yup, this is that kind of book, you have been warned! Loki was perfect in spite of the occasions at the end where I wanted to knock sense into him. But the reason I have loved him so bad since 2011 is because of his complexity, and that was what this book brings me. Amora was THAT b**ch and I couldn't help but love her. What can I say? I have something for this type of characters. Theo Bell, oh... Theo Bell! He was such a mood the whole time, he also made me laugh out loud and made me cry hard too. I fell in love with him and wanted nothing but happiness for this cinnamon roll. He deserved so much better. Mrs. S was amazing, SHE WAS GOALS, and deserved better for life in general. The story was good, I loved the gothic setting, perfect for this spooky season, and those plot twists were EVERYTHING. Trust me, you may think that you saw «plot twists» coming, but those are not the real deal. I, personally, didn't saw them coming, and OH MY! That's all I am going to tell you. And of course, this is a Mackenzi Lee book, so... THE GAYNESS WAS ON POINT! I LOVE THIS BOOK WITH ALL MY HEART... Jane's character is so strong and so human. I truly admire her! I loved her strenghts, her weaknesses and all about her. Charlotte Brontë did an amazing job writting this. It's just so wonderful! I also loved Mr. Rochester, maybe I should have not, but what can I say? READ QUEEN'S SHADOW IF YOU WANT A SISTERHOOD STORY! 💛 PLEASE, I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH! THIS BOOK IS ALL ABOUT SISTERHOOD! * In Queen's Shadow, we join Padmé, Sabé and the handmaidens to their journey into the galactic senate and the life out of Naboo. I guess no one will ever know how important is Padmé Amidala Naberrie for me, but I can let you have an idea telling she is one of my favorite female characters ever, along with Jane Eyre and Wanda Maximoff. You can easily see a similitude between the three of them that is that they are strong heroines that are too sentimental, often cry, are sad and let their emotions flow, yet they keep fighting and surviving. As someone with clinical depression and anxiety, these are the characters I have always connect with and I adore them for that. These are the reasons why this book is so important for me since the moment it was announced, and it didn't disappoint me in any way. The book is written by a Padmé fan to Padmé fans, and I love that! The story is captivating and entertaining, the characters are the best thing in the world and you will be like a part of their family. Yet the book is cruel because it never really lets you forget about how Padmé will end and the things she will lose. And I wasn't expecting this being the perfect book about sisterhood, but it was, and I can't stress this enough (again): SISTERHOOD IS THE MAIN PLOT IN THE BOOK and there's also LGBTQ+ representation, Padmé is the new WLW ally! It has been a long time since a book has had me crying, screaming and fangirling about its existence, but this little book from Keary Taylor has made it happen in one day. Congratulations! 💛💛💛 And I have to be honest, this is not a perfect masterpiece, but who cares for that when you have me falling for Valen Nero in so little chapters and also exploding in feelings with those last interactions between him and Nova! I mean, when I started reading this, that was what I was looking for! I know some people may think this is too short or too rushed, but I actually feel it is a really dynamic book considerating that is divided by episodes and there will be like seven or eight of them. (Yay!) And some other people may not like that the bond between Nova and Valen was something that has been happening before the start of the book, but I actually loved it because I think that makes the emotions between them more realistic and more interesting. In conclusion, I have to make a call for all the Reylos to read this while we impatiently wait for Episode XI. This will be a surely an entertaining, romantic read that will make us drown in our feelings.
