There are a lot of wonderful blogs here on Tumblr and some amazing supportive people. I wish I had joined this community earlier.

Just taking it one day at a time and staying positive and focusing now on my overall well-being and improving my health now.

While staying active as I work on my various new Texas Instruments projects, which was my original love and passion. No more video game consoles for me.

Now it's time to enjoy the good things in life and rebuild my relationships in the real world after spending too much time in federal custody.

Too hot the last few days, so staying cool indoors while I do some TI99 research and listen to some music.

I recently moved back to Saskatchewan after living in Toronto, ODSP is such a joke for giving people such a pittance despite the cost of living in Ontario. Hell if ODSP is enough to live off without Nintendo holding fines over you. I'm glad you have been doing well despite those circumstances, and that you are in recovery. Being disabled in the Toronto area feels like a unwinnable battle, even without the greater struggles you are facing. Wishing you strength optimism, and perseverance, and most importantly happiness.

Yes, living in ODSP is not easy with today's cost of living. and they only increase it by 3.8% per year and cover less than $600 per month for rent, you can't even rent a room for that in GTA anymore.

The only way I am surviving is the fact I am sharing this two bedroom condo with another person that is paying rent as well and also the fact the condo belongs to my ex, so I am able to pay less than market rent. If it was not for me, my ex would have sold off this place and I would most likely still be struggling on the streets like I first was a year ago, trying to find a suitable place to rent and share that with my ODSP which took over a year to get approved as well.

Took a while to also get approval from them to run my own business and earn some money, but there are limits on that as well, you can't earn more than $1,000 either. So it's not been easy.

I just have to take it a day at a time, stay positive, and focus on my overall health and well-being, and keep my mind active as I work on my Texas Instruments projects.

Here is a recent photo of me, from my 56th birthday party last month, in which you can see how bad my chronic lymphedema can get in my left leg after a nice day out and about.

My latest donation is an Texas Instruments Professional Portable Computer.

These machines run MS-DOS v2.13 and use an 8086 CPU, and the cards are almost XT bus, but not really, and for a while, was the nicest luggable PC out there.

It fully works, but it is open to add a GoTek Floppy Emulator, as I currently don't have any original Floppy discs for it, but I have lots of archived images I can place on a USB stick and use on the GoTek.

Also this is good time to remind my supporters of my GoFundMe, that I also accept donations of equipment like this if its related to my TI hobby, and can be useful, it also keeps my mind active and healthy.

This one was available locally, and was worth it to take an Uber there and back to pick it up, many thanks again to all my supporters here!

Very sad news. My half-sister lost her beloved mother recently. Please send your love, thoughts and prayers for her and her family. Our shared father passed away just over a decade ago. But the loss of her mom will be much harder. ❤️🙏

Hi Gary, I read about you from that tumblr post that got some traction, saw your GoFundMe update about creating a tumblr, and wanted to message you!

I am happy to hear you are out of prison and have that freedom back. Congratulations if you have not heard so lately!

Appalled reading about how Nintendo is treating you and forcing your money to them and I am so sorry to hear how severely this impacts your quality of life.

I wanted to ask what your biggest needs are at the moment and also about any disability supports or even creature comforts you are lacking right now? Tumblr is more interactive than most other social media platforms and I am hoping that perhaps people may be able to fill some of those gaps if local or able to ship anything.

My overall position is alot better than it was 2 years ago, so that is a blessing, as for ongoing needs, it took over a year fighting the local government here to approve my disability, and now its been uphill battle with them to approve things I need to make my life better and more active.

For one, the "wheelchair" i use on daily basis, is not even a real wheelchair, its just a walker/transport combo, but it was all i could afford, and ODSP still has not approve me to get a proper one that would help moving around better.

Also it would be nice if I had a small electric scooter now that summer is here and I am stable housing place and there is stores nearby, instead of having to have uber or amazon or other gig services delivery me things I need, when places like Dollarama is only two blocks away, and still walking or pushing myself there is basically an all day chore just to make it there and back.

The third thing I am saving up for is to have some form at home compression machine that I can use daily on my leg for my lymph issues, it is chronic and it will never get better, but daily treatment like compression helps at least to maintain it and make pain less and would allow me to walk longer and sit and work longer as well.

Other than that, lucky enough the community over the last two years have been very helpful and I am thankful 1,000% for their kindness.

Recently, I have been getting some support from the wonderful Tumblr community, as such I decided it is best if I start up my own blog here to post about my restarting of my life in Canada after completing my 40 months prison sentence for my role in the Team-Xecuter and Nintendo Switch mods, etc.

It has been a struggle for my first two years of freedom, the first year was the worse, homeless, jobless and with my lymphedema in my left leg not easy at all.

The second year has been better, now with a roof over my head and the ability to earn a bit of money on the side legally alongside my medical disability.

I have now been able to recover my original love and passion for the Texas Instruments Home Computers, and I am slowly working towards releasing some new software and hardware products for the retro computer hobbyists.

But it's still been a struggle on the medical side to get the Ontario government to help with my lymphedema and cover expenses, as such any support I get towards my GoFundMe is greatly appreciated and allows me to continue to do physiotherapy and get treatment and devices I need at home to enable me to have a full productive day.
