Some people take so long with books, I seriously question if some of them actually care or are invested in the characters. I finished Conclave in under 24 hours but my mum can't even get through A Christmas Carol in the same period of time.

The worst though are people who decide to make you slow down your reading because they can't keep up.

Are we talking book Phantom of the Opera or Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Phantom of the Opera? I'm more familiar with the musical, I've seen a pro shot of it but that's the extent of my knowledge (I'm more of a Starlight Express fan).

All the Conclave characters are dramatic enough for a Phantom au so it would probably be brilliant.

Yeah, we get the criticism that those "boys" don't, if we acted like them we'd be in trouble regardless of neurotype.

Autistic women and girls aren't just the victims of boys, we're the victims of a system that thinks we're automatically more mature and therefore less disabled. They forget that "boys will be boys" actually has an effect on the male psyche and that young girls don't have a similar excuse, we just get punished.

In the spring of 2023, several news outlets reported the heart-warming story of a fourteen-year-old autistic boy who made a poster and presented it to a female classmate, asking her to be his valentine. The girl said no, whereupon the boy's mother took to social media, recounting the tale and emphasising just how 'shy and socially awkward' her son was. The story got national attention and 'the next day at school, a number of [the boy's] classmates approached him with kind words and offers to be his valentine'. One girl 'presented him with a poster like the one he had made to ask the girl the day before'. He became a high-status victim, at least for a day; the girl he had initially asked out, a heartless bully. Yet what exactly had had she been supposed to do? Say yes when she didn't want to in order to spare him humiliation?

The story illustrates many of the problems with 'just' being kind. In the eyes of some, the boy's autism elevated him above the other boys who pressure girls to do things they do not want. His shyness and social awkwardness were problems the original girl could have solved simply by saying yes. Maybe she judged boys like him just because they were different. Her rejection became, not a simple expression of her desires – just as his choice to ask her, rather than another girl, had been – but a judgment on his worth as a human being, one which the rest of the world set about correcting. To some, the boy had a right to kindness and validation which the girl was withholding. But what of her right to have her needs respected? There's a suggestion that while all girls have the right to say no, it would make life a lot easier if they could train themselves not to, coupled with the old message that girls are better than boys at manipulating their desires – see how many of them were willing to approach the boy the next day! There's so much prejudice in the world, but if girls agreed to offer themselves to the boys who felt most left out, we'd have begun the work of removing it. Taken to its logical conclusion, this is incel thinking.

Update:

While I haven't yet acquired the Lego Bumblebee I have acquired a Hot Wheels Bumblebee (aka a sparkling little yellow VW Beetle with an Autobot insignia on its bonnet), this'll have to do till I get near a store that stocks the Lego Bumblebee. Sadly that might be a little while because my nearest Smyths is now over an hour's drive away and I can't drive.

My Lego Optimus Prime is staring down at me from my shelf as I look at your page. Might have to buy the Lego Bumblebee to keep him company and so he can be judgmental towards Bee as well, not just me.

My area has now got frozen rain forecast for after the snow, we are literally on the border of the yellow warning for snow and ice, I can't remember the last time this happened and the elderly are acting like it's an apocalyptic situation (it's their typical reaction to the word "snow").

Snow is truly magical for the first day, after that you get an icy crust over the snow and it's just miserable, also a major trip hazard because snow conceals most of the hazards and the ice causes you to slip more, doesn't help that it gets dark at like 4:30pm this time of year.

Heat seems like hell, heat here means high humidity and sunburn regardless of sunblock application, dread to think what it'd be like in Australia.

Hello Tumblr, it’s been a while.

First of all, wishing everyone a Happy New Year! Hoping that 2025 has been good so far and for the rest of the solar cycle <3 The past few months have been a little rough for me, as I have been dealing with some behind-the-scenes stuff, though I will be fine, don’t you worry. I’ve been through far worse.  

Unfortunately, it means that I’ve lost the passion for Young Iron, I honestly think that the passion has been dwindling for a long time now, since at least May 2024. I think it was a factor of a lot of things; my hyperfixation slowly waning, feeling like the story losing its focus and getting out of hand plus noticing that a lot of my ideas were being copied. 

To clarify, I don’t mind if people take ideas I put forward in my writing, in fact, I do encourage it and love seeing what people come up with. It excites me and inspires me to write more. I want people to be creative and to be inspired to write their own stories, hell their own Tornado’s because you can never have enough Tornado’s in the world. 

However, my issues started after introducing and talking about future concepts of my stories with others and having people immediately ask if they could take and use these concepts/characters in their own AUs before I could even write them into my own started to discourage me. This is one of the reasons why all the posts on Broken Records have been deleted and I removed myself from most of the ttte groups I was in. I wanted to discuss my ideas with others, not have them immediately stolen for other people’s AUs.

It’s disheartening to not be able to flesh out my own characters or ideas before someone comes in and takes the idea away to make their own. Maybe I’m being petty or perhaps a bit protective, I don’t know, but it felt rude to me. 

That being said, please don’t be scared to post and continue writing stuff inspired by Young Iron. If you want to write stories about any of the characters I’ve introduced in the Young Iron stories, please feel free to go right on ahead and even tag me if you want. I really do genuinely love this kinda stuff, it might even inspire me to come back.

Either way, I still do have plans to finish Young Iron. In Pursuit of Self was always going to be the last in the series, I want the series it to have a definitive end, unlike my previous series with Godzilla which just randomly dropped off. I want to finish it but when things are looking up and things have gotten better.

In other news, Transformers One really got me into a Transformer’s hyper fixation so you might see some new things in regards to the Transformers franchise. (Probably not ONE related but you never know.)

Happy New Year!

It's cold where I am, not super cold, I'm Southern English so it's always slightly warmer where I am as opposed to up North or in Scotland but I'm definitely feeling the cold, lord knows what I'll do if my area gets the snow that's forecasted for the weekend.

I wish I could write stuff spanning from your idea of Gold Dust Constructs (literally a gold mine for ideas, like how many gold dust constructs are volunteering on preserve railways or how many write histories on their old railways) but my fiction writing is still kinda stuck at a Wattpad level. It's the only thing my dyslexia still seems to seriously affect. I have so many ideas but can't format anything in a manner that doesn't seem repetitive or monotonous, it drives me insane.

When it comes to the Transformers fandoms, I started out in the Transformers: Prime fanbase, my favourite character was always either Starscream or Soundwave, mostly Starscream in G1, he's hilarious. Never really got into the newer stuff as much, G1, Animated, Prime and Rescue bots were and still are my go tos. I still regularly rewatch my favourite episodes as most are on YouTube for free, at least in the UK.

Hope you find joy in the transformers fandoms, they've brought me a lot of joy over the years (I can't even remember when I started watching them, the years have blurred my memories).

I have acquired a, presumably, pre WW2 "HOME-MADE SWEETS" recipe book, it was my great grandmother's. The recipes are simple but work according to my mother as my granny loved making fudge, you can tell as there's a lot of damage to the books spine near the fudge recipes.

I might post a few recipes because there are some odd ones that are quite dated and the book might not last another decade. I'm hand writing out the ones I like the sound of into a leather bound notebook for safekeeping.

Yep, I use incognito most of the time and the only time I had an issue was via incognito, I closed the tab and tried again it worked. No issues for me elsewhere.

Admittedly the only time I have to actually log in is on incognito as Google remembers me and I have been using the site daily for years and never bothered to log out because nobody else uses my Google account and even if they did nobody in my house would check AO3, probably out of fear.

We are aware that there is an issue with logging in and staying logged in. We are currently working on a fix.
