This was supposed to be a Chatacabra/Venusaur hybrid, but I think I failed at the Chatacabra bits (and the flower covers all the shoulder spikes)... SO here's a Monster Hunter inspired Venusaur.

And yeah, I realized as I was posting this I should have done Politoed instead of Venusaur. Maybe someday.

Smaugust Sampler: NIGHT

The Starveil Drake's impeccable camouflage has only one weakness; the excess luminance of the full moon betrays its presence. It is otherwise a remarkably efficient, nearly silent hunter.

The dragon seems incorporeal in parts, but intense light reveals its true, solid form. Scales and all.

This was an idea I really loved. Of course, for Smaugust, I couldn't spend a full on month on it, BUT, I really think this design is cool. I might do a full patience render another time!

Smaugust Sampler: SAND

This Sand Wyrm boasts excellent control over sand- utilizing it with a hard sandstone carapace and a pressurized blast that could annihilate buildings.

Guess who forgot to post their Smaugust illustrations here, haha oops

Even though these daily lists really burn me out, thought I'd hop in on just a couple prompts here and there for fun! Using Antarticuno's list (on X). This one took only one day too so it's an honest entry, my other ones will likely take longer. Super happy with that lighting!

AF attack: The Pioneer

Here's an attack on KaliVasquez's The Pioneer- I really dig the @ask-the-pioneer blog, so I was pleased to find Marbles on artfight!

I was feeling a 1930s travel poster kinda vibe for this one, based on Fred Taylor (who I've heard was a reference point for the HADES backgrounds artstyle).

Here I was telling myself to only do headshots and busts in order to draw more characters, but this was a surprisingly fast turnaround for me! And, it just felt like it fit her in particular- slugcats do be travelling.

AF 2024 Attack #1: Can Man

First attack of Artfight 2024- Robertoadder's Can Man!

I recognised the Robot Master aesthetic from Mega Man immediately, and thought it was a very cool character design. It was a very fun way to kick off my first ever artfight!

Lots of fun to lean into the design of the classic bosses, a straightforward yet iconic style!

Slay the spire 2 letsgo!?!?!?

I know defect wasn't in the trailer but I'm manifesting orblet in the sequel, he's my favourite character by far, and one of his cards was depicted in the trailer so here's hoping 🤞

Leaning slightly towards the style of the trailer was fun too. It's not totally adherent to that style but I based the primary lighting colour, bloom and deep ink shadows on the animated shots of the trailer!
