The concept of angels to me has always represented what’s deemed “good” by society. I observe a lot, I prefer to listen than speak. And throughout my observations, I’ve learned what society wants, and trust me, I can play that role to a t. I can the angel you want me to be. But it feels so… non existent. To try and fit in feels like cosplaying an aesthetic. My eyes have gone blind to the familiar. I can scan a crowd and not see a thing, until something shiny and interesting catches my eyes ✨ However I keep learning time & time again that shiny things doesn’t mean it’s something beautiful. A sharp metal spike is shiny but can destroy me…. Just like you. A lot of you have been asking about my book, so here it is 🤗 You can buy it at @barnesandnoble , @amazon, local bookstores and the link in my bio! It also did a long run at @urbanoutfitters which was a dream come true. A lot of people also ask me how to publish, and the answer is easy: Amazon’s createspace. At first I was rejected by every publisher, so I decided to self publish. Googled the steps, published, and a few months later I had publishers emailing me asking to work together. I’ve been trying to be more open lately, recently realizing how much I’ve closed my light off to the world. Yes, there a thieves and vampires out there (not the good kind), but if you shut yourself off to avoid these types of people, you’ll also be avoiding the possibility of letting more light in. So it’s about softening your thorns to use as protection, a filter that repels negativity and allows the light you need to shine through. As much as I wish people acted differently, esp online, if you let that effect you too much then you will be essentially living for someone else. Trying to live my life like a rose… soft as thorns 🌹
