YAAAAAAAAASSSSSSS
boyfriend was just getting all gushy because I did something nice for him and he said "I love you so much, you are the most wonderful creature," and then in an abruptly solemn tone added "but make no mistake. you are a creature"

Do you not see why people believe astrology tho??
so i'm a custodian.
whenever someone does something cool like shit on the bathroom floor or get blood all over a toilet, i have to close the bathroom down by blocking the doorway with a CLOSED sign.
this sign is big and bright. it says CLOSED in four languages and has a do not enter symbol. it completely blocks the doorway. the only way to enter is to look directly at the sign and either move it or climb over it.
almost every single time i shut down a bathroom so i can suit up and clean a biohazard, someone will enter the bathroom with a dead-eyed, slack-jawed expression and try to wordlessly walk past me to use a stall.
and every single time, i have to block their path and say, "this bathroom is closed. there is one directly down the hall, marked by signs. please leave," and they either try to argue that THEY specifically should be allowed to use this one, as if they are god's most special little guy, or express shock even though they, again, had to contend with the CLOSED sign to enter.
often, i am standing there in the middle of cleaning up bodily fluids having to firmly repeat myself. they always leave angry or confused.
anyways, you clicked this button to send me an ask about astrology:

ONTO TANU.
Komai, Shifting Tanu, Echidna, Carbus, Kelpie, Selkie, Spor
So!
Tanu is a New Gen reploid with the transformation chip. One of a handful of them who DIDN'T choose to follow Lumine.
Tanu claims it's because he was made BEFORE the decision to add in Sigma's DNA, but that's hotly contested. Axl makes sure to keep a close eye on him. But that said, they are coworker friends. Enough to where they play poker every weekend (yes with real money).
Now obviously, Tanu is based off the Tanuki. Both the animal and the Japanese folklore. (Which I will not be posting a picture of for... obvious reasons lol)
They're a bit like kitsune, but less malicious. Mostly wanting to just be left alone from what I remember.

(But yeah look at this mans HE'S CUTE)
Now, Tanu goes the way as Komai does in Elf Crazed, but his is a lot more intentional. He's tired of being left in the dust by Axl, so...
He uses Cyber Elves to try and surpass him in the Elf Wars.
And yes. Axl is devastated.

“Not all babies are cute.”
Congratulations on being wrong!
Babies are not cute because they meet some arbitrary standard of cuteness of appearance. They are cute because they are babies.
They are small. They make noises. They nuzzle up to you. They have a bunch of limbs that they don’t know how to operate yet. They have big eyes and big ol’ cheeks. The whole world is brand-new to them and they are very excited and very scared about it. They are discovering everything for the first time and you get to be alongside them as they explore.
And that is the cutest thing in the entire world.

So...
I cannot draw. Not really. I try but... man.
HOWEVER.
I DO have a vision for all of my "Maverick" ocs! SO IM GOING TO USE THAT AND GIVE BACKSTORY.
(Just to preface, they all ARE normal animal type reploids. Just drawing inspiration from mythical creatures, much like the mini-bosses in MMZ.)
Roaring Komai, Tanu, Carbus, Echidna, Kelpie, Selkie, Spor
So... Komai is a lioness type reploid.
But she takes inspiration from Komainu, lion-dog statues. Specifically female Komainu. Because yes, there is a difference. Komainu are ESSENTIALLY Asian gargoyles. (They're two different things, but basically have the same function: made to ward off evil from a place and its residents.)
Male Komainu protect the building itself from harm. (Like, putting one on the property was done so in hopes that an earthquake or flood or fire wouldn't happen.)
The female Komainu protected the people who lived WITHIN the home from harm.
So!

Komai was made during the Eurasia Crisis, and her job was to help protect and keep an eye on many of the children who unfortunately became orphans due to that situation. The Underground Shelters were built to withstand Mavs, yes, but... people wanted assurance. So... Komai was happy with her job.
Of course, once the Shelters were no longer necessary, she technically WAS without one. But... she was offered a place within the Maverick Hunters. Which she gladly took. She still definitely has a soft spot for kids; which is definitely good because infected Mavs tend to... target them. Heavily.
Look, Sigma wants humans completely gone. Going after children would definitely fulfill that.
That said, when the Mother Elf gets corrupted and the Elf Wars begin, Komai finds herself getting desperate to keep up with the fighting and protect people.
So she turns to Cyber Elves.
Which...
Does not work out for her. She becomes Elf-crazed and has to be taken down. Something that IS devastating to her in her last moments of clarity.
But she doesn't blame anyone but herself.
(Also, as far as armor coloration goes:
Definitely got this sort of vibe. <this is Komainu from a game called Spectrobes lolol>)

Reploids sunbathing is funny to me, but perfectly valid because they DO have solar energy.
They would occasionally need that recharged.
But like... there's two ways they go about it. The normal, 'sit/lay down in a sunny spot'
Or just...
Standing there. Menacingly. These ones don't have much interaction with humans.

Your trademark to me is your simple doodles with amazingly hilarious comedic timing in the dialogue. (And also the way you draw X's eyes bugging out in Brook content, that always makes me laugh😸)
I like to think I'm funny uwu
And honestly, X deserves a little bit of exasperation. Give him a break from the constant war with a human teenager!
Let him deal with the absurdity that naturally comes with being a goofy kid!

In a similar vein to what Way said, I think you could also be known for how your writing feels well-researched. It doesn't feel like you make things up on the spot or try to pretend you know what you're talking about when it's time to bring real-world concepts into the story about robots. It truly feels like reploids and humans adapted to each other's existences and shortcomings. Especially when it comes to Brook. You really said "This girl starved in the woods for months, and it's going to FEEL that way." It never reads as anything less than a legitimate cause for concern.
In other words: Brook-posting supremacy let's goooo
I'm gonna be honest-
I will only look things up if it really interests me lololololol
Like with the caves!
I knew for a matter of fact that not a whole bunch of people would really be able to live down there!
But I was not going to research every single last cave capacity 🤣🤣🤣
The number 500 million was kind of pulled out of nowhere.
But, given that no other cave system would be able to hold more than 2 million, and no single cave could hold more than 300 thousand, that DOESN'T paint a pretty picture.

In all honesty I do associate you with Brook-posting. XD But also the neat concepts that you've explored that I don't often see anyone else tackle (like Passerine).
Look
If I don't make content for my criminal child, she's getting NONE.
It ain't much but it's honest work-
Honestly, my brain is just weird. Like... obviously, it makes sense for a copy of X to go rogue on his own, especially if humanity has had 2 extinction level events (Eurasia's fall and Elf Wars).
But too much of that DOES make sense for what Weil wanted. And he seems more than happy to just fall in line with what Weil says.
It's a little s'picious
#be quiet bruggle#thank you for the ask! ^ ^#Shreeeeeeeedle :0#the inner machinations of my mind are an enigma

I honestly agree about not only the Brook posting but also how real aspects of ur writing takes.
Especially concepts and ideas that the fandom itself doesn’t really explore that much. You did such a good Job!
But also the improvement of ur writing! It’s fantastic to see how much u grown over time!! It’s inspiring!!
I mean, a lot of it HAS come from interacting with other people! So that IS a big part of it.
But like you said, there are parts that the fandom overlooks and like...
I dunno
The repercussions of X6 telling us that humanity is underground just...
THATS A LOT MAN.
There has to be at LEAST one or two (maybe more) generations of humans who NEVER get to see the sun.
Thats kinda terrifying man.

Ohhhhhhhhhh if I was going to be funny--maybe Brook posting?
Actually, though (though Brook posting IS true)--I'd say a huge part of your writing is your realism. Every plot decision, character interaction, worldbuilding choice, and even psychological reactions from your characters oozes a very realistic feel. It's why I love reading your writing because it's just so refreshingly down to earth and real.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-
I certainly do try. And I'll be honest-
I do not know how it happened.
I went from writing things like "And she went here. Then went there. And she was happy"
To...
At least something a LITTLE better.
(I think, at least. Maybe not though.)
#be quiet bruggle#thank you for the ask! ^ ^#WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY#ill be honest#i dont think anyone else appreciates it
